  • I grew up playing the piano... that was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.

  • She was my piano teacher for a number of years and what a fantastic pianist - so passionate about music and so dedicated to the study and teaching of it. She brought out the best in my playing and is truly a pleasure to watch perform!

  • I wish I could sight read that fast.

  • I know Pauline Rovkah personally, from my time spent at the music department--I can honestly say that her performances are very touching to watch, and that she is an amazing pianist through and through. I only wish there were more video of her playing piano on YouTube.

  • It is a litle robottic in a way. It needs to be a bit faster. otherwise great playing

  • I know this piece memorized, it gets kinda boring after you know it or if you play it without suffering or sentimentalism.

  • mmm, are u missing the pedal? beginning?

  • I, personally, like this interpretation of the piece. Most of the other ones are too..... bouncy, should I say? Why must any piece (though this one in particular) be played "in all possible haste"? You loose so much of the emotion and meaning behind the song this way.

And, if you truly just sight read this, I'd have to say that I am humbled by your skills. ^_^

Oh yes, and the recording quality is good as well (Yay!).

  • very nice i like it .. :)

  • sorry but,,,, wayyy to slow?????

  • Thank you very much for this post. She is a great pianist. Strong emotion in her interpretation. My sincere regards.

  • thank you for your description. it makes me understand the history and the piece's deep meaning to the modern period.

  • I'm pretty sure she's played this piece before when she was younger. =) Very good job done anyway!

  • This is my favourite one too. I'am from Poland and I can feel realy strong this song. And ther's a film about Wladylaw Szpilman called "The Pianist" (Pianista). Prehaps you know that. xD

  • Very nice. :)

  • I can't type in Russian, I'm at work.... no ya znayu ruski yazuik

But I'm Russian. And I knew that it was a Russian playing from the first 30 seconds.

  • Haha! Yes, I can see it come through!

  • it is polish.:)

  • The piece is by a Pole (Chopin), but the performer (here) is Ukrainian.

  • ochen horosho?

    is she Russian?

  • Yes, she is. Да, очень хорошо. Ты изучаешь русский язык?

  • I got the music sheet at some music archive site. Thanks!

  • Could you tell me where did you get the sheet please ?

  • so did u get the sheets yet ?

  • where do u get this piece ?

  • What do you mean? Do you want the score? Try a library or professional music store for the score (a store where band teachers go to by music, not a guitar shop!) If you want it on CD every library problably has it or you can order it on loan from a library. Search for Chopin, posthumous Nocturne in C# minor. Probably listed as opus 20 (nocturne 20, as it was the 20th published).

  • Very nice piece and nice playing.

  • My mom says thanks :)

  • Mother-in-law!

  • Mommy!

  • hey, very beautifully played. I actually also uploaded a video of me playing this same piece if you want to check it out.

  • Question: Was the movie "The Pianist" about Vladislaw Szpilman?

  • Yes ma'am, it sure is.
