@skiiflyer agreed 228 are way out of possibility. HS is 207, 21m further than HS would be like 221 on Kulm, 234 in Oberstdorf or 226 in Harrachov......impossible, only in Planica, over 20m further than HS can be stood and only cuz they improve the hill almost every year and theres always a strong front wind in the last part of the hill to make the landing easier

He said 228 was the most extreme he'd heard, not that it was the norm to be able to stand there. When you're not used to a hill, or you get down there on high speed rather than front wind you are going to pull out. That gives you a more vertical effective landing angle, and makes it harder to stand. Look at Planica. How many of the most extreme jumps have failed? A good percentage, much higher than on normal jumps. But not all! (239)

I lived in vikersund and hans jumped over 300 jumps in that hill and i have standed on 224,5meters, and i know that it has been standed on 228 meters in that hill.

He shoud in that case aim for the last line on 225 meters because its no problem standing there, if you only dare... He fell because he diden't complet the jump.
