I loved Morrowind more then Oblivion, since it didnt have the level scaling. You went somewhere you shouldnt be yet and you got your shit stomped in... Then you come back hours later with a fireball spell that brings down the whole place.

@vycon88 although I agree with you in that WoW is certainly more "cartoony" than Oblivion, Oblivion is quite "cartoony" compared to Morrowind. Morrowind just looks and feels grittier and darker and more mature than Oblivion. IMO

If you ask me, I liked it far better in Morrowind where you'd get your ass kicked if you went to a difficult area at a low level. The leveled or balanced (or whatever you wanna call it) gameplay in Oblivion takes away from your sense of becoming a more powerful character as you level. I also found it a bit stupid that I would run into really powerful enemies just outside of town... just made the game seem a lot less realistic for me.

@adventureher0 its leveled i have beat the game at level 1 on hard and try that in morrowind im not saying its impossible but close near. if you have a weapon in oblivion at lvl 1 and your skill is 10 it does about 3 damage at level 20 and your skill at 10 it does about 15. its leveled

The reason I couldn't go back to morrowind after growing up playing Oblivion is because Morrowind"s GAMEPLAY is so fucking dated that it's ridiculous. Yes, Morrowind had a better story than Oblivion, but I was seriously amazed by how dated the gameplay was. Oblivion is NOT cartoony (unless your on drugs). Alot of Oblivion haters seem to like Morrowind. I tried to get into the game, but as I said DATED gameplay is a little bit of a set back for the game don't ya think?

@OneSadPuppet The gameplay for Oblivion was more interactive and immersive than Morrowind's. That's all there is too it. There is no experience quite like walking through one of Oblivions forests. If you don't like traditional fantasy then I don't know why you would even bother to play an epic FANTASY rpg. Go play a science fiction game if you don't like traditional fantasy.

1- There is nothing special about Oblivion's atmosphere. Everything, i have seen before in Real life, if not other games.

2- Morrowind was creative and you could lose yourself into the unique world of Morrowind, Oblivion felt like the same old world in the middle ages with people doing magic tricks

3- Oblivion is just a rushed morrowind with better graphics...

@OneSadPuppet I disagree, I could immerse myself more into oblivion than Morrowind. Also, nostalgia doesn't account for a good game, just because you have fond memories of it is NOTHING. Morrowind was awful in two things: the combat and the awkward clunky movements. It's nowhere near a perfect game too.

No, im rating Morrowind based on good it was during its time. When Oblivion came out, i was dissapointed in the lack of dungeons and quests.

yes, Oblivion is better now, but if you really compare them both, There is little difference and morrowind wins in terms of being an rpg. In my opinion, they could have done more to oblivion than just buff up the combat and boost the graphics. Really, what im trying to prove is that if ur young, dont diss the classics.

You could walk into a bookstore and spend hours reading volumes of books about its history just like a normal library. Not that you were going to just the point that you could. You couldn't understand it in the first hours of playing and always learning about something new.

cliffracers... i remember the first day i got morrowind i was walking around that fort near balmora when a cliffracer attacked me. I didnt know you could hit it with a melee weapon so instead i tried to use a crossbow, but since i lacked the skill, the cliffracer killed me, happy days 8)

1:38: That's the old Daedric shrines from the Sheogorad region. Looks almost like the Shivering Isles in the opening shots. Makes sense because Sheogorath is supposed to have something to do with that area (as the Daedric prince of Madness.) The dragon looks great!
