  • how far did you have to hold over for this distance?

  • The people on top shot are just, horrible compared to you.

  • Hickok45 for the next top shot!

  • That's a great loft shot awesome video

  • I think he should change his name to hickok.40

  • Im good at shooting just like every one thinks they're good at shooting. But let me tell you sir, that you are realy good with a pistol. lol

  • He'll yea GO CATS. #BBN

  • ive been watching your more instructional vids and a couple other guys pistol instructional vids, spent some time dry firing at the wall and finally had clear groupings at my last range trip. thanks alot. my targets a month ago still looked like someone was shooting a shotgun at it.

  • awesome!

  • How far away is your nearest neighbor?

  • Hickok45, you are inspiring. Please check out my G19 at 220 yards!!! (I just started shooting in 8 months ago.)

  • You are by far the most entertaining shooter to watch. and don't be so damn modest you shoot better than anyone I've ever seen. and i live in AZ where everybody goes shooting.

  • I'm pretty sure brain surgeons do not have the steadiness in their hands that it takes to keep such a short barrel still enough to hit a 230 yd shot. UNREAL.

  • Excellent shooting sir. How large is that target out of curiosity? Its hard to tell.

  • made a believer out of me!!! Can't wait to shoot mine... Damn 7 day waiting period

  • Hi sir, can you tell me how far distance can Beretta 92fs 9mm 115grain travel?

  • Hey hickok i just wanted to tell you video's are awesome. I just bought G-27 with trijicon night sights. I took it out the other day for the first time and shot 180 g umc full metal jacket thru it. I was surprise on how much a recoil it has. I shot 3 clips thur it and my hand was sore. I talked to a local gun shop he stated it doesn't matter how much the gun kicks when your are in the heat of the moment and need to use it for self defense. can you recommend a good target load for G-27.

  • is there any way you can make a video shooting the Glock 26 and 19 at 230 yards or are the rounds insufficient when it comes to power and velocity

  • 8 "shooters" are jealous.

  • hell yea i hit all day at 200 with my px4 40

  • Great shot!

  • good shooting there.i just got me a browning white gold medallion in 270 wsm with a leopold scope,,,i cant wait to shoot it,,,found it in a pawn shop of all places,,,,take care

  • Are you holding low ?

  • I would love to come shoot my 27 at your range with some tips from an expert like you

  • I need to go practice more.....nice shooting.

  • I really like the time between the shot and the "ding" when you hit. Just like nature/physics really wants us to know that the target is really far away.

  • Hey Hickok45. I recently we\nt to a 200 yard outdoor range with my Sig 226 .40 cal. I set up a 50 yrd ,a 100 yrd and a 150 yd targets. I had trouble hitting the 150 yrd( only hit 7x @ 45 rounds). Do you thing caffeine affects your hand steadiness?Do you also aim with the center dot higher than the other two, at 150 yds?

  • G26 & G27 Slides interchange! I got 2 guns for the price of 1.5 guns.

  • Nice 'Dings'! Good shooting! Gotta love our Glocks!

  • Wow.

  • Great shooting! I dont even have the land to attempt this. Great videos.

  • I am shaking too when you hit the target!

    with that tiny BB gun!

I finally undstand that you can do this with any thing even throwing a stone by hand!

no difference with guns, just difference between people who take the shot!

    shocking!

  • bet you cant do the same with a pt145. that'll be a true challenge for you

  • If you that gun with a .22 derringer, that would be awesome.

  • Great shootin, Hickok45!

  • check out that shirt lol that is ironic

  • I am ashamed to be shooting the Glock 23 at 15-25 yards. :(

  • absolutely amazing.....unreal

  • Sir Hickock, I've shot my fair share of guns, yet never owned one...I don't like 9mm, I'm a fan of the 40 n 45 cal. And would like a glock 23....I've been watching alot of your videos and subscribed...I would just like you honest opinion on the first glock I should purchase to protect my home...And I would really like to hear from you your an all around bad ***...

  • @crynevil dude lol there is nothing wrong with 9mm. but if you want a good self defense gun you want one you shoot well. dont just narrow it down to glocks because theyre very good guns. find one you shoot well. and for self defense id recommend the G17, G19, G22, G23, or te G21.

  • I had the same dilema...So I bought both :-}

  • Only in America would a persons most difficult decision of the day be which gun to buy a Glock 23 or a Glock 27...One more reason to love America! Ohhh! and by the way I choose...well I bought the 27.

  • I smile every time I watch this video!!! If you ever decide to come out to BGSL, send me a message and I will provide the ammo!!!!! It would be awesome to put lead downrange with you!!!!!!!

  • wow... incredible hickok45.

    o and xeniffm u r an idiot

  • Yo Hickok, apply to be on the next season of History Channel's "top shot"......all the glock fans out there will support you the whole way and it would be so fun to watch you!

  • Just simply amazing shooting as always. I know my Glock shoots better than I do with old eyes and old hands. I think most modern guns can shoot better than the human element as engineering advances seem to be accelerating. A very inspiring video with the 27. I bought mine due to these videos.

  • What Kind of Muffs are those? Heard the Pro Ears are real good

  • about where do you line up the rear sights with front sights at that range?

  • No need for you to carry a rifle!!!

  • HICKOK, why dont you do a 230 yard gong shoot with your GLOCK 20, Ive been waiting to see that 1...

  • whitch one do you likee better?? The Glock 26 OR the Glock 27 or Glock 30

  • Hello Greg, I am planning to purchase a Glock 27 and would like to hear is it worth paying money for Gen 4, I can get a good used Gen 3 for decent price. But if Gen 4 has considerable changes which reduces the recoil I don't mind buying it. What do you suggest.

  • hickok45 I do believe you could hit that gong with a Daisy BB gun, if given half a chance and a good strong wind behind you :) I like you, you're honest, and straight forward and you tell it like it is. I find the information you give out on the various weapons that you've fired to be up front and with no bullshit thrown in to apease their makers. Thanks for taking the time to share all your knowledge with us. And I'd love to shoot a couple downrange with you brother, anytime.

  • @BikerHardCore, Thank you; your check is in the mail. :-)

  • hickok, did you use the stock barrel on this shoot?

  • @Furiahh , Yes, everything is stock on the gun, except that somebody put night sights on it somewhere along the way. It's an older G27.

  • Wow, Great shooting! I have daily carried a G27 for well over 10 years now. It is a great combination of power, reliability, durability, compactness, etc. I recently purchased a Kahr PM9 just because I wanted to see if I could get something smaller and still retain reliability. ( I have not had a chance to shoot it yet). Thank You for your honest and informative videos. I have been a Glock aficionado since the mid 80's. I live in Mt. Juliet Tennessee. Blessings,Brian

  • @Glock3540 , You've sized up the G27 pretty well; that's what makes it a great little piece. I think you'll like the PM9 pretty well. It doesn't replace the G27 for me, but there are times when the G27 is not practical.

  • Hickok...that's pretty amazing...even if you have shot for decades! Quick question: I've got a G26 and a G30...but not a 27. A friend of mine says that the 27 is even "snappier" than the .45 of the G30...which I have a hard time imagining. As much as I love my 30, it's kind of thick and doesn't conceal as easy as the 26...but I'd like the heavier punch. Is the 27's recoil between the 26 and the 30 or negligible?

  • @cmonsterz , The G27 snaps a bit. If you're not fond of recoil, you'd better stay with the 9mm. It will serve you just fine.

  • niiicccceeee

  • What! spare G27s, owning your own range for 23 years, I need to write a new christmas list...

  • Ah yes, this is the video that got me started shooting at the 100 yard 8" steel target out at the range I go to. Even hit it a couple times.

  • How high over the plate where you aiming ? With stock sites?

  • Hickok45 your awesome and that is amazing i thought i was a good shot but then i get on your channel and you show me that i have so much to still learn. But something i have learned is that someone should let "xeniffm" that there is a delay in the travel time of the sound from hitting the plate at that range and the correct spelling of "hidding" is in fact "HITTING" not only does he need a physics lesson but a dictionary wouldn't hurt either.

  • That is some shooting! Holy smokes!

  • I somehow always find my way back to this awesome video :)

I'm not sure if it has been answered, but how big was the gong?

  • @hickok45, Talons are nice too, I gia-petted my 23, stippled all prefered areas of preference with a soldering /wood burner iron perminent i Know thats the way I like it, and ,,, I aint EVER gonna rid of my SWEET LITTLE GIA-GLOCK. Hahahahahahaha!!!! dont even think of askin' to buy it from me. Also got rid of the palm swell bump I CAN HEAR/SEE YOU DROOLING ALREADY

  • hickok , I forgot make that rock .40 ,and i wanna see it dead center on a .40 target ,in .0000000004 ths of a second, including reaction time from concealment, and do that 40 times in a row, and make it all fit into a single .40 hole.

  • hey hickock , thats too easy. i want to see ya do that with a sling shot next ,now that would be almost perfect ,or better yet let me see ya do that by throwing a rock by hand.. hahahahaha. Just projecting what the crazies will need next to maybe start to be impressed.

  • How high are you holding over the target when you are aiming? (.40 S&W is not the flattest shooting caliber out there.. lol) Are these reloads? What grain bullet?

I would love to visit and have a go at that gong with my g23. :)

  • @okietwister75 As soon as the projectile fires, it is no longer accelerating due to it being fired. It is however accelerating down at the speed of gravity roughly 9.8m/s/s. The best thing to do is to figure out how fast your projectile will travel, and how far away you are to get a rough estimate for how long it will take to get there. Then calculate how far the bullet will drop at gravity speed and aim that distance above your target. This assuming you are shooting level with target.

  • @olsoncor If you are shooting up hill as this man is doing here, you will have to estimate the degree you are shooting, and factor that into your calculations against the gravitational pull. Calculating can be done precisely, but when shooting, you only need to be aware of this, and do your best to estimate in your head and do your best. Also pay attention to wind, temperature, and elevation level as they too are variables.

  • damn your hardcore.

  • Holy shit! wow!! You are amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • @SecularTechnology , How do you think we figured out the distance, Mr. Genius! You need to get out of the basement more often, it appears.

  • @xeniffm , Thanks for basically assuming I'm dishonest, but more importantly, make sure your high school physics teacher doesn't see your post. Your diploma will certainly be confiscated, that is if you have one. :-)

  • @hickok45 , i think you might be right, i don't think this guy has a h.s. diploma. he can't even spell right, (hidding) *try hitting* xeniffm, let alone use his words properly...... Xeniffm, next time you post a comment use spell check or better yet Hooked on Phonics. anyway great job hickok45 hope i can shoot as good as you one day.

  • @hickok45 AHAH thats true.

    xeniffm = idiot

  • @xeniffm first off do you speak english? get a dictionary. Hickok is an awesome shot and you don't know what your talking about.

  • @xeniffm it is possible. You're just not good enough.

  • @xeniffm You must ride a short bus and wear a helmet with windex and papertowels in it!!!!Hickok is the shit and thats why he can hit that 230 yard target, stop being a hater, Hickok should be everyone's sheriff. Xeniffm you suck donkey b@@ls!!!!!

  • @xeniffm I am guessing a 180gr. 40 S&W is subsonic, maybe you should do some research before questioning someone's integrity. I think hickok45's videos rock.

  • @xeniffm ur retarded... first its hiTTing not hiDDing, second why would you hear it hit before the bullet is fired... that makes a lot of sense... i believe the saying is you never hear the one that hits you (assuming you die), how would you hear something from 230 yards away before it leaves the gun 2 feet in front of your face? and im sure someone would risk their life by sitting over 200 yards down range from a shooter to make a youtube video

  • @xeniffm

I shoot at our range on the 200 yard with my G22 and assure you it is QUITE possible what he's doing.

Try it some time instead of calling foul first...He explains it at aprox 4:oo mark..

  • @xeniffm

I shoot at our range on the 200 yard with my G22 and assure you it is QUITE possible what he's doing, even with the G27 as I see it done first hand.

Try it some time instead of calling foul first...He explains it at aprox 4:oo mark..

  • @xeniffm anyone with a steady hand can shoot bassically any gun @ 230 yards.

  • @xeniffm I have met people like you at the range, tell me its imposable to shoot that way at that distance right after I just did it. And still insist I am pulling some kind of trick, and they see it for themselves. I have had them get mad and cuss me out for doing it, screaming "that's imposable". Just because you cant do it, doesn't mean nobody else can.

  • @xeniffm get the fuck out of here with all that!

  • Comment removed

  • @xeniffm go study physics, and bullet trajectories, and learn a little known fact about the speed of sound,BETTER A FOOL TO REMAIN SILENT,THAN TO SPEAK AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT.

  • @xeniffm at 230 yds, try aiming 3-4 ft above intended point of impact depending on velocity and practice it,BONEHEAD.

  • @xeniffm Hickok45 is the best. YOU however, are an idiot. a .40 caliber projectile can travel anywhere from 980 - 1250 fps (approx). The speed of sound is approx. 760mph (1100 fps) at sea level and varies with altitude. Any moron can tell that you clearly hear the gun fire and shortly after, the bullet hits the target. Did you ever even think to consider that the bullet actually has to travel almost 700 feet before it hits the target? This is an explanation for a dummy (you) for the delay!

  • @xeniffm You're crazy

  • @xeniffm yeah and I guess you missed 2:30 on when "the cameraman" zoomed in on the gong right?

In stead of whatever your name is you should change it to Mo. Short for Mo-ron

  • @xeniffm Those are decent assumptions, just not in the right order, and not clearly stated. Hey,at least you are thinking about such things. And if you are truly interested, then you are in for a treat! Look up;ballistics, trajectory, bullet weight,

velocity,...... Careful, this can be addictive! Peace

P.S.Look to older folks for advice. They have been learning for many years.

  • @xeniffm If you were the target you would be hit first, then hear the sound. Im sure you have since thought about it.

  • @xeniffm You honestly must be retarded to actually think that. Plus why would they have someone down range where hickok is shooting? Congratulations, you have successfully proved you are an idiot.

  • @xeniffm ... what an idiot

  • @xeniffm Im sorry, but you are the true reason america is declining into a depression...complete morons like your self riddle the streets...your that one guy in a subway who cant figure out what he wants, the one slow ass driver in the fast lane on the highway, the one dumbass who stands in line and doesnt move up when the line moves... please, refrain from thinking, and go jump off a cliff....

  • @xeniffm u r a true dumbass

  • @xeniffm...I take it you've never shot a weapon before by that kind of a nagitive statement. Do you realize how far you can shoot down range by simply raising the front sight on a firearm. And another thing hickok45 is without a doubt one of the very best firearms experts on youtube. So before you open your mouth about something you know nothing about, the next time do your homework fool.

  • @xeniffm I'm going to assume you you are a child. Please be a child...

  • @xeniffm Your a fucking idiot. Sound travels slower than a bullet, so once it hits its target, the sound hasnt reached the target yet. Its also the same way around, that once the bullet strikes the target, it takes time for the sound of it hitting to travel back as well. So shut the fuck up.

  • @xeniffm your truly an idiot. aha. god how old are you?

  • hey, how much is .40 ammo where u live/

  • Wow. Im sold. Great videos, I really like this G27 now.

  • 8 People flinched when hitting the like button.

  • god i want 1 of those!!

  • did u have to aim higher for bullet drop or does the bullet fly pretty straight? Thx for all your time killin vids. My very favorite on youtube. Great shooter!

  • Bin Laden's over two football fields away, and gets owned by hickok45. Love it.

  • how is that even possible?

  • @tjohn1986 I'm wondering the same thing. I though that hand guns only have a maximum range of about 100 yards. I am truly confused, but also impressed.

  • awesome shooting! what rangefinder are you guys using to get the distance?

  • @kryptos7799, I don't recall. Check with Tnoutdoors9; it's a laser model he's brought over a couple of times. Pretty cool, except since I don't hunt, I really have never needed one.

  • Hickok, I have had my CC liscence for a few years but have been struggling to find a good gun that is accurate and will carry well. I shot my first glock 19 the other day and was very surprised at the accuracy that it provided me. Better than my Wather P38. I have shot many other different hand guns but the glock is very comfotable. After watching your videos and shooting my first glock I am now a firm believer of the Glocks attributes. Thanks for sharing the info.

  • Great shooting..i have the Baby Glock 39.45 gap version to your glock 27..i should try it out and see if it will reach 230yards or so..might not since it is a slower round..but its still worth a try :)..

  • i love this guy...great dude

  • I believe it's a great gun and a great shooter. Amazing ...

  • What will round energy be down range?

  • how big is your target?? Nice Vid

  • exscuse me mr hickok i know u need one more project so why not try the ole 12 gauge 1 ounce slug at 230 yards

  • Please do a video on proper shooting technique because you are the master!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @garybsg , Thanks, I have a playlist of that.

  • @hickok45 Hey, I think the first gun I ever buy will probably be a Glock. Are there any baby Glocks that are .45 cal?

  • Hey Hickok,

Do you think the glock 26 would reach out there just as easily?

  • @keltec556 , It should; I don't think I've tried it.

  • @hickok45 Well? ....How about it? I know... I am being a bit pushy but I was just thinking... The 26 would be a challenge... :0)

  • @hickok45 do you think the glock 27 will reach as good or BETTER than the glock 26?

  • which glock model is your favorite?

  • You've convinced me; I want one. Go cats.

  • Nice Shooting..I would love to have the range you do!! I have a couple of glocks..Not a fan..But they always go bang which is the point..:) What kind of hold over were you doing at the distance? Never shot a 40 over a 100 yards..LOL Hell never occured to me..Again I want your range!

  • @MrChondro , I demonstrate the sighting in one of my VLogs, I think it's the one at the Rock Quarry.

  • Excellent shooting! I bet your front sight covers up the whole target at that distance. I like the range set-up, too.

  • WAIT!!!! YOU DIDN'T SAY LIFE IS GOOD! THIS VIDEO IS VOID! how do we know its really you and not some doppelganger?! XD jk

  • They usually don't do ballistic tables at +200 yards for pistol calibers, but it'd be interesting to see. I'm guessing with .40 you're holding, like, 4 feet above the target.

  • @seairland312 hornady ballistics calculator, caliber,,weight, coeficient, sight height, baropressure, temp.velocity, windage ,figures and it charts out moa.for you

  • No matter how many times i watch this and your other 230yd videos, i'm no less impressed than i was the first time i saw them lol. That gong looks like it might as well be a mile away

  • @vintgeblues , Thanks. Part of shooting long range involves suspending your disbelief. It's hard to believe a handgun is accurate enough until you do it yourself.

  • Amazing

  • wow

  • This dude is ridiculous.

That's a tough shot with an iron sighted rifle (standing like that) IMO

  • good shoptong like always.

    Ps your range is awesome

  • can u do that with a colt saa?

  • ..Do not try this drill if you have had more than one coffee prior to getting to the range. lol Nice shooting.

  • That's Realy nice good Job SIR!

  • We used to play around with long distance shooting. I was shooting a 1911 .45acp and I could hit a target (3x4 ft?) at fifty yrds. When I went to 100, I could maybe hit every 3rd round. Ok, maybe the .40 sw shoots a little flatter, but the 27 is a really small gun. I guess what Im saying is that I find it amazing that anyone can hit anything with any handgun at 230 yrds. I could never shoot like that, even when I was in practice. Truly amazing. If anyone thinks they can do this, try it.

  • Damn, beyond impressive!! Getting rid of my xd 40 subcompact for this G27 because of this vid!! Thanks for showing me the way!!!

  • @reaperpaintball08 you must realize that by "getting rid" of your xd isn't going to make you a better shot, right? I have XD's and Glocks, both great guns! theres nothing wrong with an XD that a Glock will fix. I'm sure Hickok didn't get to be the kind of shot he is because he shooting a Glock, I'll bet it more to do with how many rounds he's sent down range......and I think he's a natural talent, and most of us will never reach that level........just my 2 cents.

  • @grizz474 i know, i can shoot at 150 yards with my xd, just talking more in terms of concealability with both pistols. IMHO, springfield makes a better pistol. Gonna miss my xd, but its all good. Thanks for the feedback though :)

  • Glock should pay u for this shit!!!!..Can u do a review on the gen 4's....i'd love to hear your opinion, an im sure others would tooo..keep up the good work sir!!

  • I've been looking at getting the Glock 27 as an off duty ccw, currently carry a CZ-75B but its a pretty big ccw although it's a great gun too...Seen 2 of your videos and get more and more convinced that this is the one for me...Great shooting btw...Any negatives you have discovered with this gun?

  • @zsandbox , Can't think of any. I hate the hump on the grip of Glocks, but with the subcompacts, the hump doesn't get to my palm to cause problems. It tucks nicely up in my hand.

  • Hickok45 , just love the video, Helps remind me that it ain't the gun it me when I am practicing. Top it off with my ala mater Kentucky Basketball and what else could you ask for. I would like to see how your grip looks. GREAT Shooting....

  • hickok how do you make these great shots at a distance i got a stock glock 27 and the way the sights are the front sight is so big that at a distance i cant really see the target.i couldnt imagine hitting that gong way out there

  • @johnnyjigger1 , In my VLog at the Rock Quarry I demonstrate how I use the Glock sights at 230 yards.

  • Amazing Film Hickok45! Thumbs up! Would you say that the .40cal a "flat shooter"?

  • @MorfeuV , Don't know. Don't know whether the bullet touched the clouds on the way over there or not; I just know that I figured out how to hold the sights. I guess how flat a gun shoots is not necessarily related to accuracy if you know the sights.

  • @hickok45

    Hahaha! Amen to that!

  • how much does the .40 drop at 230 yrds?

  • hickok i just got my 1st glock and it was the glock 27 and i love it.i cant help but to hold it every day. love the feel.thank you for helping me make up my mind and pick a glock 27. all around good gun.9rnd mag for carry and g2313rnd mag for nitestand just got it a week ago and got like 500 rounds threw it. im finaly getting used to the trigger pull and holding a nice tight pattern..and no malfunctions at all..so ty again hickok for letting peeps know that glock is a sweet reliable gun

  • Simply amazing. Does anyone know if Hickok uses any .357 pistols or conversion barrels? What are his opinions on that round? Considering how good he makes .40 look, one must ask why not .357 with it's flat trajectory and excellent long range performance?

  • Looks legit to this shooter. Great shooting, 230 yard hits with ANY pistol are impressive. Doing it with a baby glock is just awesome.

  • GO CATS!

  • Let me pick my jaw up off the ground sir. Nice vid. I have one and Love it.

  • Great shooting Frist time I had my new "used" Glock 21 45 ACP I was hitting the steel turkey at a 100 yards with that pistol. Yes I like long range pistol shooting with autos #1 Moses

  • like anything else human factor does matter

  • Very nice shooting. Wouldn't want to be anybody trying to invade Ky. If you can do that with a pistol, what can you do with a rifle?

  • my name is spence im 12 and i live in london ontairio so the gun laws are pretty strict next summer im going to arazona/laghlin to see my cousins i was wondering if you could tell me a good shooting range ther cause you live in the us and stuff and could you make a vidio walking around in a gun store thanks

  • Don't know of any specifically, but there are several out there, I'm sure. YOu might Google around and find some.
