The problem here is the lifeguards, they think they rule the beach, and they really do. Last sunday me and my friend had trouble with a lifeguard. You got to think that in Brazil there aren't many good waves, so when we go to a place like Indonesia we get crazy.

America does not make rules for surfing, surfers do. The inside surfer is a Kiwi. (New Zealand). The Mentawai Islands are in Indonesia not Micronesia. The 'local' is from Brazil which suggests he may not be an Indonesian. Haole is a Hawaiian term. This is not Hawaii either. Hope that helps ;-)

Now times have changed, there were hundreds of surfers out today in California but it sucked and many of them think it was alright. Fighting there once started long ago when the crowd number was too high and the wave count was too low, now it's quadruple all that and the wave quality went way down everywhere by about year 2000.
