  • huge fan. could you talk about how you transition between major and minor?

  • 2:32 just made me smile

  • He's no Marty Schwartz when it comes to teaching!

  • you are dedicated man ill put a vid up on the skills you taught me!

  • How many years does it take to play so fast and professionally like at the start of the video?

  • @NorbertGardonyi depends on the person, how much you enjoy playing/willing to learn :) there's no standard on that

  • thnk u.. =)

  • which major notes do you include in your blues scale? mainly the major 3rd?

  • Great song man. But this is not a tutorial.

  • @adrianomarto it is, he shows you things

  • thank you:D

  • agreed no teaching here

  • Go 'Noles!!!!

  • ah i just discover the tutorial ! thank's a lot for all those precious information.

but could you please show us a bit of you'r lick and the way you play it with your finger, this would be very interesting!

  • This is just showing off, not teaching mate.

  • Hey dude, I watch your videos all the time, you are so very fluid - including your electirc numbers (mostly in C I think). Please post some more tutorials, it would be great to take apart more of your blues playing ... good work bro!

  • great playing wow

  • spancat said it, not hard to do, just hard to do it well and you really do it well, inspires me to practice more. thanks.

  • Hey man keep up the good work u have some serious skill sounds amazing!

  • well done.

  • I am no guitar guru, but to go into a little more depth I think these are the notes that slim uses. He says he adds some "major notes", and here are the ones I think he adds. Check the mixo-blues scale. For the key of E, the notes are E, F#, G, G#, A, Bb, B, C#, D. So the major notes he adds are F#, G#, and C#, giving you a nine note scale which sounds much better than just the six not blues scale. Nice playing Sweetpotatoslim!

  • I really want the multiac in the background :)

    Very helpful, thanks for posting

  • V useful. Not that hard to do it but v difficult to do it this well.

Any chance of a couple more tutorials?? Pls!

  • thanx man! greetings from Turkey :)

  • I wish I could play that well without a pick :-/

  • for me it´s very helpfull

u just have to follow this chordprogreession and ad some little e blues scale licks in it.

  • I agree with the majority, it's not aimed at us begginers into acoustic blues but is definatly helpful

  • was a good lesson, but could been slower and a little more detailed...thx

  • would u like to show how to keep playin' the bass note/bassline without affectin' the melody part??

maybe u can slow down ur playin' to let us see what's goin' on.

anyway, you master ur machine =] thanks!

  • it's not a bad lesson, but it's definitely not aimed at beginners.

  • just watch it a few times back to back with your guitar at hand and you'll get what he is saying.......it is fast, but all you need is in there.........practice makes the difference

  • thanx man

  • good stuff....play them bongos on teh floor

  • lol...i agree XD ... im trying to improvise on what he says but... well... i suck :P

  • everybody sucks at first...........trust me, the skill will creep up on you one day as long as you keep practicing and trying to get better

  • ok this is defnitly a tutorial for professionals :D:D:D

  • Nice blues pattern.

  • Amazing..cant wait to hear you do another electric blues improv.

  • wonderful mr sweetpotatoslim,.. 5/5 stars!

  • Show off xD

    No, kidding, you're really good!

  • sounds great man...what are you doing with as far as picking goes? If you are fingerpicking, how do you rotate your fingers to pick the scales out at a fast speed?

  • thanks, I'm fingerpicking here using the thumb, 1,2 & 3 fingers, plus a lot of pull offs. I'll try to get a video of my picking hand.

  • @SweetpotatoSlim how are you hitting the root note on the beat while playing the rest? i just tried for like 30 mins and cant quite get it down with my thumb.. should i use a different finger?

  • thanks very much for sharing, this is going to help me for sure. happy new year

  • Nice tutorial. Also, with a little practice, you'd sound just like Tom Hanks.

  • Easier said than done.

But seriously, you're amazing. Less teaching, more giant, ridiculously long blues improvisations.

Youtube is too fargone to try to teach.

  • shouldve been a bit more in depth with like other things like turn arounds and stuff like that but still thank you so much. really glad u showed the extra notes you add on to the reg "blues scale"

  • thanks
