hello . i want to ask that, if i buy a container ship vessel (1200 TEU) for example . how much money will i earn from shipping from L.A to Japan or China per TEU? i saw for 20 ft container ship price is 2650 $ to ship to Japan , tokyo from los angeles.
if i transfer 1200 teu per ship it cost 3,180,000$ per ship . is it right or i must give taxes to the ports ?
can anybody calculate it for me>
1200 teu container ships to Japan from Los Angeles. how much money will owner earn for 1200 teu?
This video has absolutely nothing to do with the Emma Mærsk! The Mærsk-vessel in this clip is the Adrian Mærsk - a far smaller vessel (believe me, I've worked on both types). Adrian Maersk is "only" about 350 m long and 43 m wide - Emma is 397 m long and 56 m wide!
Indeed. Most of the video (and the other four in the series) is about docking and unloading the Hanjin Washington and the finishing of the Adrian Maersk. The as-yet-unnamed sister ship of the Adrian Maersk surely isn't the Emma Maersk as it's not big enough -- they say it will hold 3,300 containers. Presumably that's 6,600TEU, which is only about half the capacity of Emma Maersk.
Not anymore - I work on an oilrig now, but I used to sail on the Maersk container vessels, among others, one just like the Adrian Mærsk in the video and one just like the Emma Mærsk - so I know these vessels inside and out.
It would make more sense if there was a door low in the hull for the pilot to step aboard, and then just climb an internal staircase or ride an elevator. Instead of the long dangerous climb up the rope ladder.
Its for watertight integrity. Making such a modification would serious affect the freeboard. Besides, its the way pilots have come onboard for decades and there are not many accidents.
this isn't even 240p -_-...

The longshoremen must hate these containers. It makes them hard to steal from.....

Some ships have side doors, for example car carirers have them! Even the new container ships have them!

Exactly! Been there, done that! First time it feels dangerous, second time you get used to it. just hold on tight and you'll be fine :)
