California has had the highest number of hospital closures for years now because of patients not paying their tab, unsurprising due to their large population of undocumented workers. That 2.6% is almost guaranteed to all have jobs or else they would return to Mexico, that was the entire point of immigration to the US in the first place. Cracking down on employers helps solve employment AND illegal immigration, two birds with one stone.

For the last 60 years Switzerland has had a very simple temporary working program: Every year thousands of foreign workers get a season working pass that allows to to enter legally, work on the fields and then they return back home after the season is done. Works smooth, keeps workers from bringing their families, standardizes the process, helps their industry and keeps illegal immigration down (though I will admit that entering into Switzerland illegally is nearly impossible....Alps and all)

It is not always easy to find Americans that will do farm work, but it is also hard to find American farmers that will invest in mechanization or use the farm worker visa program that allows farmers to lawfully bring in UNLIMITED numbers of farm laboroers from outside the USA if they can not find enough local workers. Some farmers just prefer slave illegal workers and want entire USA immigration policy to conform to their needs and cry crocodile tears.

That 2.6% is almost guaranteed to all have jobs or else they would return to Mexico, that was the entire point of immigration to the US in the first place. Cracking down on employers helps solve employment AND illegal immigration, two birds with one stone.

Try roofing sometime in the Texas summer heat! For the last 60 years Switzerland has had a very simple temporary working program: Every year thousands of foreign workers get a season working pass that allows to to enter legally, work on the fields and then they return back home after the season is done. Works smooth, keeps workers from bringing their families, standardizes the process, helps their industry and keeps illegal immigration down (though I will admit that entering into Switzerland illegally is nearly impossible....Alps and all)

These farmers are lucky they weren't thrown in jail for hiring illegal workers. It's against the law to hire illegal immigrants. Hire US citizens. The reason they were hiring illegals is because they work for less and are too stupid to form a union. And that's the last thing they want is an organized work force.

@jzenman They are hiring Americans. But we don't want those jobs. If they "paid" us Americans higher wages then we would all pay $5 for a potato, apple, orange, or any other fruit or vegetable.
