中国政府不久前下达的对"两个以上藏人在一起"就可以开枪的指示，所以目前拉萨市区几乎看不到藏人。目前西藏已有140名藏人被 打死，五百余名藏人受重伤，1300多名藏人被逮捕并遭受不人道对待。中共军队自3月14日进藏戒严以来，围困了所有参加和平抗 议活动的寺院，并断绝了寺庙僧人的饮水和食物供应，目前已证实一名叫洛桑图梅的僧侣在小昭寺被活活饿死。
