@qwertyuiop1232123212 It helps you eliminate those errors you get when you restore your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. When I installed Lion I couldn't modify the hosts file and tried to restore my iPad to it's factory settings and I kept getting a message saying this device isn't elegible for the requested build. Now after using terminal and modifying the hosts file now I can restore all my devices :)
