Wow, Thank You for for taking the time out of your day to show us how Man can become One with Nature. This Video was not only important for survival traits, but for sustainable traits as well, I appreciate you passing down your wisdom to the younger generation, and to thousands of people via the internet. I know this video was taken in a warm climate"catfish" would this trap work for trout as well up north? As well what is the desired technique for pushing the stick with the grass hopper in?
We have a version of this for deep sea fishing in the Philippines. It is called "bubo" (literal translation is "stupid", not making this up). Because the fish caught in it is stupid! lol. This is very effective, and yeah, we in the third world are in SURVIVAL MODE. So we don't apologize for it.
Mr. I almost stopped watching your video due to the sound level being to low and the shaky camera shots. What a mistake that would have been. Your vid was very informative. I have seen traps like that before but I never understood the philosophy of the design. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. If you keep posting, I'll keep watching and learning.
@tim3jones yes i understand the great depression part and we are well on our way but the racism is my misunderstanding dont worry no explanation is needed .just keep up the good work with the videos and god bless america
Wow thanks for this video! Probably one of the best survival tricks I've seen yet...seems easy enough for someone to think up in concept but I thought the fish would just swim back out the door eventually...guess not
Is this the most common method Native Americans used for fishing? I bet they set tons of those traps all the time...
@tim3jones Yeah I bet..looks like it works really good. Anything that could keep me alive when the shit hits the fan is great in my book lol
I watched a Bear Gryllis video where he builds a fish trap out of rocks that goes all the way across the stream, then he pounds the water with a big stick and the shock waves stun the fish..it works but to build it would use up way too much energy that you couldn't get back from a couple little fish..I posted a comment and recommended this video
@tim3jones Oh how cool I grew up in Bristow Oklahoma and my grandmother still lives there and my other family is in sapulpa, Tulsa , Oklahoma City ! I have a lot of family there and that is where my love for water and turtles began ! I was a poor kid who used to trade my crawdads, turtles and snakes for other kids toys ! hahaha Nice Video and A Pleasure to meet someone else from Oklahoma !
make a donation station man so we could throw a lil at a time so u can get better cameras sound equip ur way more informative than the mainstream guys
Wow you are awesome. I just started watching your videos and they are perfect! Great job. I Hope someone comes along and gives you an offer for your own TV show. If they do let me know and I will definitely watch!
That's incredible, something i will keep in mind if i'm ever in a survival situation. By the way, you mentioned using rocks as an option, would that loosen the effect on capturing the fish in any way? i live in an environment where rocks are easy access, and thought the rocks could even last longer, if i was to get some bad weather.
Brilliant Tim, thank you for posting this! All of your videos are very informative, keep up the good work. I've subscribed, so Ill be waiting for that second video on edible plants. In the mean time I think I might just hone my skills out at lake Thunderbird. :D
