jeff was definitely sponsored by coke for the first few years he was in cup, this wasnt just nascar choosing him to be in the commercial. the problem was jeff got caught on camera drinking a pepsi while he was still under contract to coke, i havent been able to find the footage on youtube, cant remember what race it was, but i remember watching it live, no one made a big deal about it, but the next year coke was off the car and pepsi was on it

boy that's weird, it's like i've never seen Jeff advertise anything else than Pepsi.....so it's quite a surprise to see him in a Coke ad....and btw i hate to quote Tony Stewart, but Coke really tastes a hell of a lot better than Pepsi ;)

No i know why he was plugging Coke. This was a commercial from 1996. Pepsi started being his sponsor from 1997 and on so maybe it was just a commercial that Coke needed for NASCAR and decided to use Jeff, but it does look hella weird that Gordon is plugging Coke soda. Just like rustyshackledford said, almost like when you see that he drove a Ford in the Busch Series.
