hey i think i am doing it wrong beause i am still angry i still have dream pralacics cant spell it how do i stop it ???? the drs say its stress can u help me ???? ash
You are a great teacher, and video maker. I going to try this again a little. Even though I don't have a lot of clues as to what's what, I got pretty good results, Clearer thinking, more optimistic, etc. Thanks.
I seemed to have "learned" a lot in the past, but then I don't do the practice. LOL
Extremely influential video. I appritiate your efforts and hard work. I have started meditating few months ago along with Breath control practise, Pranayama. I want to know how we can channelise our energy towards our goal(in Career)and attain a purity of mind.
Whenever I get the urge to feed my addiction, I close my eyes and say to myself: cravingcravingcraving. At the same time I really focus on the sensation in my body. It seems to be working. I havent used for 3 days now.
A related question. Is this division between tranquility meditation versus insight meditation exactly what divides shamata and vipassana? Or should I look at shamata more as cultivating the concentration necessary for vipassana, and thus as an integral part if vipassana or indispensible prelude to it? I know this is all concepts, but I'd like to get those straight as well.
Okay, I just realized that perhaps I read your response wrong. I'm guessing now that you meant only practicing insight meditation, but attempting both if I have a strong teacher. Is that correct?
More or less. Tranquility meditation is optional, it just makes things more comfortable. But it takes time and quiet. Really, though, both meditations require a teacher, whether you practice one or both. The important thing is that in the end you see clearly (ie practice insight meditation)
I'm curious. Would one be able to practice both types of meditation without them interfering with each other? Or would you recommend only practicing one?
Not at the same time, because the object is different. They can support each other, though, if done consecutively. I recommend only practicing insight meditation, unless you have a quiet place, a strong teacher, and a lot of time :)
I'm confused. Are you saying I should not be attempting the meditation techniques you've showed us without a realworld teacher to guide me? That's simply not available around here.
