Actually Nefertiti was called "The Queen of the Nile" and Cleopatra was the "Queen of Egypt". I always thought it was weird that she said: I'm the queen of the Nile. But this movie was great, so I quess that doesn't matter..
Hollywood has sunk so low, it needs FRESH FACES, RAW TALENT and new ideas. They should RETURN TO GRACE AND CLASS. I am sick of the rate of recycled actors. I agree with coralaisly.
This was the first movie I ever saw her in, and through watching all her work I could find she quickly became one of if not my favorite. It's amazing how she could pull off pretty much anything, even a southern accent (I lived in GA, MO, KS and AK for years, I know what an authentic accent sounds like and her accent didn't bother me) amazing actress, gorgeous woman. I wish hollywood today would take a lesson and get some grace from it's predecessors
I think they will cleopatra really looks Mostly like the old time Egyptians and not the negroid egyptians of today. With that I mean she will be a mixed a Arabian/asian mix.
When they use the facial tissue building software based on common knowledge of skin and muscle and fatty tissue then we will see her true face.
she certainly gave that role the best looking cleopatra ever, sorry elizabeth taylor. in reality, many historian say cleopatra was not very pretty but very charming and sexy. and there's no trace of "Scarlett" southernbelle accent--what an amazing actress she was.
I still think she looked and did her best as Scarlett O'Hara. I do however love her as an all around actress. but I think Scarlett when I think Vivien
Vivien fight for this role like a persian kitten, Mr Shaw said, so..he gave her the role. A wonderfull and beautiful Cleopatra. Rains? magnificenta as always, and a starring role, so difficult to him. Great film. Carlos from Argentina

Cleopatra was neither Egyptian nor African. She was a Greek. Descended from Ptolemy, one of Alexander's generals.

Leigh was the best Cleopatra. My favorite at least. She played this role perfectly (as with all her roles)
