Never actually got to dyno the 306 setup before i pulled it out. Estimated HP with the work done was in the neighborhood of 350. Needed more. Now have a 408 Stroker built and waiting to go in. Will post vids when it is in and tuned.
Nah man, these wheels are off a 97 GT. 5 lug goes without saying. Do the Lincoln Mark VII rotors in the front and get the ford racing rear 5 lug conversion kit for the back, comes with axles and drums. OR get the Aerostar/Ranger axles and drums. not hard at all if you have touched cars before.
@killswitchny What do you guys think about the LRS 5-lug convertion kit that goes for about 400 bucks ... is it cheaper to get the aerostar/ranger axles plus the lincoln front stuff? thnx
@gotazman Best if sticking with rear drum is to get the MOSER 5 lug fox axles. they are stronger than the regular ford racing ones in the kit and i think it comes out cheaper. Ok so you need the 5 lug axles (best buy them new, the ranger/aerostar ones are hard to find anyway) Drums from a late 80's ranger, must be 9" drum. Fronts can use the Mark VII rotors, or if you want to do it better, get the front spindles, hubs, rotors, brake lines, and pads from a 94-98 mustang.
@gotazman Check out SKSPEED.COM we are a small business, around since '64 and we are branching out into the wild, lol, internet. We have just about everything you could ever need for a mustang, which is where I have gotten all of my parts. Also there is a Facebook page with employee cars. a couple of mine are on there, including the mustang. I dont have FB so i dont know how to use it, good luck.
yeah, w/ the bigger valves, better springs and lighter weight, its really a good idea. I think the Performer RPM's will generally add 40HP to a stock motor. Now compliment it with a better cam and intake and you are on your way to having a quick streeter
The gt40 heads come off like 96 or 97 and up explorers. But those are factory iron.. Unless u get them for 200 bucks its not worth it. Ford racing has aluminum gt40 or just get edelbrock performer rpm. They are reasonable
Im sure you know the best combo for a SBF. Ford Racing cams are made by Crane....who manufactures their own products. Crane is good shit. Dont go saying Comp Cams just because its a name you've heard a few times. lol
naw i have a 355 (bored 30 over) 4bbl , camuel hump heads (ported and new valve jobs) and all the goodies and ive been running with comp cam its been through like 3 cams already since we keep making the compression higher.. i was just letting you know comp cam puts out more hp and tq on the dyno and yes trust me ive ran with crane cam.
A chevy man i see. Well yeah either way the thing actually turns out to be that Comp does have better grinds for most combos, I just dont like hearing shit about what i have. Although crane has much better hydraulic lifters...Unfortunately Crane is out of business at the moment unless someone picjks them back up. Anyway, yeah ill be running a Comp custom grind for my 408 Ford thats in the works now.
I was wondering if you could post video of your mass air conversion hooked up. I want to do that to mine since I am going to install twin turbo and it just wont work right without mass air. Could you let me know what brand you used.
in this video it is a MAC with shorties, motor is apart right now and as far as exhaust, will be putting on MAC long tubes with a Pro Chamber and possibly swapping out the flowmasters for Borla XR1's. Should be nasty
i lyke homie i think imma go with da mac h i already got american thunder catback it should sound similiar to yours rite? put some videos up ones u get da next exhaust on there i wanna hear shits gonna bark!peace
No dyno as of yet. waiting till spring when i fine tune everything and get the nitrous in. And as for the machine work, i dont know how much it cost. It was done by the previous owners when they pulled the motor to freshen it up.
just adding some details to make it easier for you, 1996 - 1998 Ford Mustang wheel Hollander# 3174
with the following specifications
- 17 X 8, 5 lug, 4 1/2", 5 double spoke wheel with a silver finish. I have the same on my 95 GT, but they were chromed, they look awesome man, just as this stang.
thanks for the reply ... I found today a wrecked 95 that has the front end intact, I'll be on the lookout for the other parts, thanks again.
