  • @ChicagoLongboarding i think it is written in the description

  • Guys it is in the title - GlideTrack. That what makes it smooth

  • Does anybody know where I can get this type of music / cinematic type of music from online? thanks. BTW great qaulity.

  • @KLKMedia My friend makes erally good music soundtracks that are really "epic" sounding, if you want I give you his contact info

  • @chrisbailey42 Thanks.....I knew that......lol

  • Okay.. I am gonna be stupid....MUSIC???

  • @MrHeavenheart read the description

  • Please respond. How did you get the videos to be so sharp? Q-scale in magic lantern or something?

  • Did you film in 720p for that 60fps to slow down the clips?

  • I always wondered how motion timelapse worked... hundreds of stills shot on some sort of mechanical device that moves it?

Great job! I love San Fran...

  • HOW did you get it that sharp, Master???!!! lol

  • Are YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME !! I DEMAND A FUKIN TUTORIAL NOWWWWW!!! please :)

  • Stunning showpiece on San Francisco. I've been there, and you capture it brilliantly. Excellent camera work. I'm only after buying a canon t3i, and was wondering on what slider and tripod to buy along with other accessories?

  • T U T O R I A L P L S I R

  • Very Epic! you sir are amazing!!!!! :D

Question, what was the frame rate and shutter speed set at?

  • cool!

  • what are your export settings? your videos look great

  • AMAZING

  • why does every good DSLR "test" become instantly so good with Epic music, synced and shit :D ??

  • mother of god

  • sweet

  • Hey buddy! I must say VERY crisp color for night time shooting, how did you get such a crisp black color with relatively low noise? I'm having difficutly in low light situations and Ive been learning along the way but I won't lie, im frustrated! What settings did you use for the low light shooting and any tips for Premiere Pro and/or after effects? Sorry for the questions I just figured to want the best you should learn from the best. Thank you!

  • with Premiere how do you edit your videos?

  • very cool!

  • awesome! check out my t3i test

  • Epic.

  • How the fuck did you get such good quality?

  • This is awesome

  • beautiful city) thanks for video. so, where is a compare of t2i and t3i?)

  • It took me a while, but I found your lens cap while scuba diving.

  • 1080p on, pants off

  • @Jamalsish LOL!!! hahaha that made me genuinely chuckle

  • i just love the music choices you use!

  • fuckin epic

  • do you use cinestyle for picture style? can you do a quick run down of what you did i just cant seem to get that natural color look!

  • awesome video. music seems a little over dramatic for the footage.

  • Your edit is fantastic. Colour is flawless. Looks great! You presented many great signs of true class.

  • how did you make the timelapse at the start of the video?

  • very nice, how long is this glidetrack?

  • WOW!!

  • Wow.. Very Inspirational!!

  • You seem to get a huge depth of field, what aperture did you use, or what range of apertures? I'm guessing f/8 or lower, but you have great exposure still.

  • man that is beautiful, i can't believe i have the same camera you use and my vid quality looks like crap

  • @missypoo2u: DSLRs need to be set up to achieve the result you want. The new entry level DSLRs though make it real simple. The awesome videos of Jameswalt1 and other youtubers inspired me to try it out myself for my own videos and I'm impressed how much affordable equipment can achieve nowadays.

  • is this real life?

  • what program please ?

  • nice Color Correction!!

  • Did you manage to do the time-lapse with your T3i?

If yes, how many minutes were recorded?

I'm just so impressed with your work...

  • @Sanctaz I do timelapses hooking it up to a laptop using the canon utility, just by making pictures every x seconds, and then compiling those into a movie clip. Also have a bigger resolution that way so you can shift around a little still.

  • Quality is awesome, but I see a lot of over exposed shots with tons of moire and aliasing later in the video. You can prevent that by shooting in 24 or 30p, with at F2.8 or higher...

  • @Nihilism13: Afaik, Aliasing/moire can't be avoided by adjusting the fps. Overexposure in videos is avoided by adjusting the aperture, but you may want to open up the aperture for a shallow depth of field. This is where ND filters come in handy.

  • @azuremain Yeah it can. 60p has way more aliasing/moire than 30p or 24p... Have you ever used a dslr or did you just read some stuff online?

  • @Nihilism13: Didn't mean to argue, just don't get why a higher frame rate should reduce aliasing/moire. Maybe you can enlighten me. And no, I didn't just read something. I have a Canon 600D and welcome any advice on how to reduce/prevent aliasing/moire.

  • I've heard that there are issues with vignetting and uneven sky tones when using a circular polarizer with the Tokina 11-16mm. What have you found?

  • I can't believe that my T3i has the potential to do that......

  • hey how did you get it that sharp did you use any sharpening post processing, high bit rate on magic lantern, sharpness at full preset?

  • great quality

  • Im beging you for a render tutorial, the quality is insane! Please respond (:

  • You should be making movies for Hollywood, brilliant work.

  • what is glidetracking

  • @paul0wn4life its a track to mount your camera on to get smooth panning from left to right. Kinda Like a small dolly.

  • I don't how else to explain it .. my eyes must of just had an orgasm .

  • That was just awesome.

  • @jameswalt1 Beautiful video. I saw some geometrical abberations(ex: 1:19). Are unavoidable or you used too much aperture?

  • beautiful

  • Ths just made my day <3

  • Good stuff, man.

  • Maybe a silly question but how do you move your view that smooth? Are you on some kind of rails with a tripod? Or are you a very stable person :)

  • @Quiksilverien Maybe it's made in the editing software.

  • @Quiksilverien he used what is called a Glidetrack

  • @Quiksilverien Name of video: Glidetrack Test.

    <.<

  • @Quiksilverien it says under tools used in the description

  • @Quiksilverien He was using a gllidetrack (hints the word glidetrack in the title) lol :)

  • @Quiksilverien mabe a glidecam 2000 or 4000 pro

  • where do you get the music to your videos? btw this looks awesome!!

  • this looks like a commercial. amazing quality.

  • Can you monetize you videos using this type of music? BIG thanks!!!

  • Thanks for share your talent with us! This ir real MAGIC.

    Greetings from Argentina!

  • i simply CANNOT believe your using the same camera as me?!?!?! and coming up with such results?!?!?!

  • this is crazyyy !!!! how the fuck did u render this shit?!?!!?!? wowowowowoowowo

  • wow...this needs to be inserted in my anus.....for my pleasure

  • AMAZING,

  • Epic !!!!!!

  • What bitrate did you export at?

  • Fucking. Amazing. I'm inspired.

  • I was wondering how you found your music.

  • Awesome! How long is the glide track used ?

  • hi jameswalt.... excellent video.... can i use this video for my VFX demo reel...i want to use it for my compositing demo reel.... i will mention it in credits.... if u agree... thanks....

  • Great video! Added to favorites

  • I have the strangest erection right now...

  • @menaceinheroiccolors thanks (?)..... lol

  • @jameswalt1 hahaha sorry i couldn't help myself.. this video is just breathtaking!! i just bought my 550d and it should be arriving in the mail this week. your videos have inspired me, no joke.

  • Fishermans warf! great place to visit!

  • who is the composer of the song?

  • Awsome! It's really really really great!! You've combined the greatness of the video with the epic of the music! It goes directly to my favorites!

  • AWESOME ! can't wait to get mine

  • @ReevoHD any tips for video? like how i could get a good focus from close objects to far? without the crisp sound of me turning the lens..and like auto focus?

  • @ReevoHD oh ok :) but would i be able to do this kind of work with a Canon EOS 550D :S iv been told its not much of a good camera for video..?

  • Damn!!!!!!!!!!! This is the best video I have seen on youtube. How long did it take to upload?

  • @xxJuanVsWildxx 2hrs

  • how do you get the slow smooth glide?

  • Wow!

the second shot (Golden Gate Bridge) is unbelievable -

the lens flare makes it perfect!

  • Just brilliant! Your a great cinematographer! Was this filmed with the t2i or t3i?

  • 0:37 GTA San andreas hahahaha

    nice video.

  • Wow! That was amazing! Especially that very last shot! Amazing! The music was insane too! You just earned your self a new subscriber! :D

  • you inspired me.. i cant get a nice shot on the ducth windmill always foggy there.. great job!! thanks for posting..

  • Hey I watched this video when you uploaded it, it inspired me to make something simular with my 600d on a track dolly, would be great if you checked it out

  • So this was shot with a T2i or T3i ?

  • James! How do you get the image so sharp? Do you sharpen in it in your editing software?

  • @YoussefAbdelmohsen Not too much, but I do render at a ridiculously large file size and bit-rate, hence why my Pensacola video is a little less sharp - I had to keep it under a 2gb file size for the upload limit.

  • @jameswalt1 my videos don't come out this clean on youtube with my t2i :\ any pointers? on exporting maybe?

  • every shot i've seen in this clip , i think it's a masterpiece , congratulations !

  • Simply stunning piece of work I would never have beleived this was possible on a 550D had I not read the description. Brilliant!!

  • nice shots.

  • looks better than real life imo

  • Color Correction And Exporting Tutorial PLEASE!

  • Awsome HDness. Really cool.

    - domi.

  • Nikon disliked this video -_-

    Great job!

    -Mikkel

  • i signed in only to congratulate you for this wonderful clip! it's amazing! you've got good eyes, it's like seeing excerpts from a film!

  • @b4rn1k4 Thanks!

  • wow now this was epic

  • whats the music name?

  • Thank you very much. I have purchased a lot of equipment inspired by your video.

  • please do a tutorial on how you export to get this amazing quality

  • @DoeDoeStreet probably H.264.

  • I trying to download this music but in the Audiomachine website they don't sell it. Where can do I get it? How many frames per minute did you set your camera. I have ordered an intervalometer after seeing your video.

  • @globoaviacao Audiomachine doesn't sell it's own music, you have to pirate it. I ripped it off YouTube. But this video only has the time lapse in the beginning, it looks like he was shooting in 60, at least at some parts.

  • @globoaviacao I downloaded the song from soulseek. As for the frames, I assume you're referring to the time lapse at the beginning - the intervalometer was set to take a shot every 5 seconds, 2 second exposures.

  • Oh and I am planning to buy me a Tokina 11-16mm lens today and is hoping that I'll get a really sharp copy. I heard that there are a bunch of copies that are bad so I'll test it and hopefully I'll get a good one. :)

  • @daxalain5 It's a fun lens, just try not to get wideangleitis. This is a condition I suffered from when I got mine - all of the sudden I lost the vision of shots that weren't wide angle! :) I'm actually serious.

  • @jameswalt1 Hmm I'll try to keep that in mind. I want to play with it first and experiment with a bunch of shots:)

  • Hi James! Quick questions about your time lapse part on this video.. First, how long did it take you to get that sunrise shot and second, how did you do the glide time lapse shot? Did you move it every 5-10 minutes while the camera is taking pictures? Thanks:)

  • @daxalain5 Sunrise took about 1hr-ish if I remember correctly. The panning shot was done in post. Because the shots were at 18megapixels I was able to crop and pan with out sacrificing quality for the 1080p video.

  • @jameswalt1 Oh I see so you did a pan shot! Did it take you another hour in doing it? Sorry I don't really get how you did it but it looks really cool tho! I am planning on doing a video for Reno - Tahoe soon. I'll show it to you when it's done :)

  • beautiful shots and impressive music. congratulations

  • @raioXX thanks :)

  • 0:24 oh my...

  • What colour correct settings in MB?

  • @GanEdenAustralia very minimal on this one, just color curves I believe

  • awesome! I wish I could shoot vids like that. So far I got Canon t3i and Tamron 11-24mm wide angle lens. Still looking for video editing software. Downloaded Adobe premier pro 5.5 and it's difficult for me to use it. nothing makes sense.

  • @vovan486 give Premiere CS5 a chance, it will become second nature

  • awesome! I wish I could shoot vids like that. So far I got Canon t3i and Tamron 11-24mm wide angle lens. Still looking for video editing software. What did you use? This vid looks amazing!

  • hats off to you brother ! for your great videgraphy :)

  • That, is just outstanding. That camera is stunning ! I loved the shots, really nice :)

  • Amazing job! It's all put together very well.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!! DID you use a some type of glidecam...or a mini stabilizer

  • What white balance settings did you use? Is it Auto? Thanks

  • @AndrewS0314 Yeah, WB was on auto

  • fucking sick!

  • Hye again, how does a wide angle lens like canon ef 50 compare to a 18-55 zoom lens? What is main benefit of having a wide angle lens, is it providing a big enoughdifference? Thanks

  • This video is so gooooood that it gives me chills! :)

  • Love it! What is the song called?

  • Congratulations. This video is awesome !!! :-)

  • Did you color correct ONLY in Magic Bullet Looks?

  • Amazing footage dude! Loved it 'n all that glidetrack footage was sick, Need to get one asap after seeing this.

  • that last shot was AMAZING!!!

  • What presets did you use for magic bullet? Thanks

  • @AndrewS0314 no presets, just manual

  • the last shot pannin up made , made me jizz in my pants, seriously dude, amazing shots

  • Impressive piece! This lens seems to be very sharp. Did you do any sharpening in post? I own the konova slider 1m and I also have thet 701HDV fluid head, and I'm saving up for the Tokina.

  • @johnjohansson no sharpening in post. I shot this before I learned about picture styles so I was using Standard which adds a bunch of nasty digital sarpening.

  • @Arsyn4Ever If you live in the bay area. you can look for a used t2i body only for about 5-6 bucks. if you can wing it i would also recommend getting a t3i, its the same thing but has some new features like a pop screen which comes really handy in doing these types of slider shots.

  • The tourist division of SF should hire you! The shots, the music, the transitions, wonderful. I was grinning from ear to ear at the end! Thanks.

  • Are you also DRNtube?

The last shot was in his DJ DIK San FrAngeles video.

  • @Arsyn4Ever I actually have the same setup, i know that was done with the tokina because of those damn flaring, but this was a very cool video. i want to do something like this cause i live in sf too.

  • Very very nice video! I love the time-lapse in the beginning!

  • San Francisco is such a beautiful city. Born and raised here :)

  • Awesome!
