The monks in TIbet are the only people who don't like China. The common people of TIbet (90%) are glad that China stopped the serfdom system where they were slaves to the monks. Second, minorities i.e. African Americans, Mexicans etc. have very high advantage for getting accepted into universities, it's called affirmative action. US universities must guarantee a certain percentage of minorities, except Asians, accepted.

Uyghurs are classified as Altaic group with is similar to Mongol, Japanese and Korean. They look Turks because the Turks mix blooded during China's Tang Empire.

as a han Chinese, I found it is so unfair, Being a majority, we don't have any priority. On the contrary, Minorities have got too many priorities, 1, there is no 1 child policy for them. 2, the students who are not han ethic could get 10 more scroll to go to University. 3, if they live in their hometown, they could benefit from local concil when they purchaing house or land relavent. 4, some ethics, like tibeten, could get grants per month, hundred pounds approximately. It's ironic that the government says that these buildings in the old Kashgar are unstable and backward, but yet they have survived for hundreds of years, when these new buildings the government are putting the Uighurs into break down and collapse at the slightest earth tremor. Old Kashgar, in terms of infrastructure, beat these new houses by a mile.

Uighers get along fine in China - they moved to China fairly recently but Chinese people were in xinjiang long before. Unlike many countries, China has never oppressed Muslims OR Jews. Obviously western media has some sort of agenda.

The British invaded Tibet in 1904. They tried to colonize it but failed. Tibet has been part of China for hundreds of years under the Qing dynasty. The monks in TIbet are the only people who don't like China. The common people of TIbet (90%) are glad that China stopped the serfdom system where they were slaves to the monks. Still, religion can cause fanaticism. In fact, TIbetans and Uighers hate each other and many muslim stores were burned down by Tibetans in 2008.

@MrPleasethink the manchus (qing rulers) sent chao erhfeng & tried to invade tibet around 1909. during 1911 revolution in china, qing empire collapsed. manchus fled back to manchuria. this is when all the countries under ("qing dynasty"/MANCHU) became independent from MANCHU rule. china also became independent. china tried invading manchuria but manchuria sought help from japan. manchuria/ the qing became Manchukuo (puppet state of japan). 1/2 of manchuria is in russia.
