movies based on books don't necessarily follow the whole plot but the movies try to do justice to the book. That's why they call them FILM ADAPTATION--you don't place in all the details the book may have because then it would be too long and directors and writers want to focus on the main plot of the story. That's why sometimes the plot is tweaked a little. Although the Eragon film WAS pretty bad.
