Im thinking about doing Judo i have nothing to do now and i need some extra activties and im a huge fan of MMA Karo Parisyan's Judo is great so it got me into it. please tell me what u know about the sport and the training and classes
hey guys, there are kids (some wrestlers) who are trying to pick fights with me, and i always try to diffuse the situation, but one of the times, i wont be able to back down; fighting one of them is inevtiable. i am a few inches taller than most of them (im 5'11") so i'd like your guys' ideas on what to do or how to fight and what method (kicking punching grappling ground fighting) i should tr, should a conflict escalate :( all ideas for help are appreciated thanks
You cannot learn to fight on the internet. Join a club. You may also find that it is about character building as much as fighting. Which may be more usefull in conflict situation.
Dude, read the other comments. What belt do u THINK he is? I agree with sandman though. Yea, that uchimata i think? WOuld have looked really cool without being punctuated by the ref's back
wasent a bad vid, was jsut wondering: what belt are u?
i saw u in the turnnys and u guys where wearing the white and blue belts like i used to :$
also work on ur katigoroma abit, u gotta open it up u cant jsut walk in there adn do it, make him step into it for u, atm ur too readable :\. but still that was some nice fights
that WAS a beautiful ko ouchi however. I also like your choice of song, although I'd have loved to hear the refs calls. I hope you post more tourny footage.
yea, I've been doing judo a loong time and now that i've watched this vid a couple more times i agree, those guys were small, and if you had fought up a class or two then that wouldn't have been so easy. Also, I think Judo comes in handy in a fight as well, but mostly for defense.
I agree. Kicking is the best defense, then punching, and then grappling. Grappling is useful as a first resort in some situations, though - like subduing a drunk person or something like that.
to tell you guys the truth, if you were in a street fight u can't go near your enemy if u did, u know wats gonna happen but when u r on the ground it may be help full. u have to kick on ur enemys face or punch. kicking is faster and longer.
i say not getting into a fight is the best resolution. you never know if the other guy's friend is going to stab you in the back while you're choking the other guy or something.
(I only made it to green, many years ago, but it still came useful a few times, and it's a great sport that often doesn't look too impressive to "outsiders", but when you're in it, you realise just how much skill it involves to do it well).
Ur Judo is impressive...I admit that on the ground u might beta me but ina stand up match my Muay Thai is almost perfect it would be hard to even hit me.
Nice matches... Quick attack in the end, just 1 thing I don't understand- each time you fall to the floor you don't use your 6 seconds to choke or put him in a submission. why's that? U are very good btw.
Hehe, in europe (belgium) in a judomatch, each one participant needs to wear his original belt plus a white or red belt, to seperate the participants :-) Can also be white & blue suite
what are the rulez in these matches?do you stop right after a takedown or is there a way for the fight to go to the ground?I'm in jiu jitsu and i can tell you guys do great throws but you need some help with submissions.
Answering what Droylock said, I've been doing judo several years and I've never seen a purple belt, perhaps we haven't got that belt in spain?? O_O Honestly your first oponent wasn´t very good he let you move him to do the ipon easily. In Spain we aren't allowed to wear socks XD, I agree with jachoo it seemed that you hadn't any problem to win and they were black. However, good job XD.
at the second fight, you shouldn´t do so often the same, (i love this cast too) but after three times, your opponent know whic cast you want to do, so he can block it... greetz from germany!
U r pretty good, but ur opponents was weak. I don't know ppl with black belt, who are so weak. I leave in poland, and i have 3kyu, but in poland ppl with belts over orange are always very good, and on this video u win with black belt without any problems. When i was in turnament in germany black belts was also wery weak. u hav very strange judo :P
i joined judo about 10 weeks ago, i'm a white belt, but i've beaten puple, orange, yellow, green, blue, and almost beaten a brown. I beat everyone one in my class, my coach gregg,( one of the top belt holders in judo) put my up against another judo coach named Shinichi, he was black, and everone was watching, and i got him a couple times, but he definatly beat me. I cant wait till i fight in a tournament
No, during judo competitions, competitors often are told to wear different colour belts depending on the referee, he is obviously black belt in the first match and then asked to change into a white for the second match.
Hey, the first throw was kinda nice, but your opponents are not strong man. This is beginners competition or something. I come from holland, the level is much higher there. But the video with the background music is ok.
most of my matches are long now...cuz i stopped playing judo after i got my brown belt...but my all time favorite move is uchi mata or harai goshi...7th year in it. anyways good fighting man
i love this sport used to be in the great britain squad when i was 15 and was a brown belt i used to fight in the bja association does does anyone else on here fight in the bja?
a little tip: if you're gonna do kata-guruma, you need to get a much "higher grip" with that left hand of yours..like no way you can throw a good player with a grip around the wristarea..,with a standard kumi-kata? waisting a lot of time and power on just trying.., get your left around the elbow, or higher, towards the uke's armpit.know my english sux, but if you know what i mean, you'll throw a better kata-gurua.are you a former boxer or a wresler?looks like it
yer, they were awesome katagurumas. love judo, even tho i had to quit cas of too much skool work. but yer, ur good. especially that last guy, dno if he was crap or u were too good, but u smashed him! he had no chance against u
im a brown in judo...i had to give it up because there are no judo schools around where i live but i still practice it with friends who are black...def the best self defense art around
well, i'm with the british judo association and after u have been with them for 4 weeks, u get a red belt, but that probaly wont apply to other associations so yellow probaly does come after white
hey i don't know much about judo competions but do they alow chokes now in all competions, i heard they got rid of it, then i herd they brought it back, just wondering
o yah and fyi dont be confused if their belts switch color...certain hosts provide a blue or white belts to players according to the side of the matt theyre on

this guys really good but in my opinion judo is not really efficient standup in mixed martial arts as oppose to a sound muay tai or karate game.

what about a "sound" judo game?

nobody in mma has ever really excelled with a primary judo style karo is probably as good as it gets.
