@VintageSH You know it! I've only played a Tele for 11 years now, but after playing a strat for about 30 years, i see i was lost for almost 20 years. So the strat became my mistress while my Telecaster became my wife.
@mani1mann yeah, and he's thinking of going back and adding things to the original version of the 60's strat that weren't necessary in the 1st place. LOL!
@04adamski I own both and I have found that it really doesn't make that much of a difference. Yes Nitro strat sound and resonate a bit differently, but not necessarily sound better.
@04adamski Removing poly is a major Bitch, I wouldn't recommend it unless you just want to keep the body original, but refinishing will kill the value of the instrument if that matters. Honestly if you are dead set on a Nitro finish it'd just be easier to get a different guitar or spec out your own with a custom build. Personally I'd just buy a CP and not worry about the aging stuff, and just play it. Really nice guitars. I regret trading the one I had
@04adamski A poly guitar will age too, just not as quickly or as nicely as a Nitro finished guitar. I had an 1981 that was pretty beat up.
But anyway, the cheapest, although not easiest, would be to strip the original finish and spray in Nitro. You could probably do it for a $100 bucks or less, maybe cheaper if you already have sanding and buffing supplies and a place to spray
@04adamski Shouldn't be hard to do, I'm pretty sure there are diagrams on how to do it on the net. Also google reranch. they should have everything you need for shooting your guitar in nitro and also offer how tos on their site and forum

@YogiSizzle cheers but a nitro one will age like a beauty, is it worth removing the finish?? or just buy a body identical but finished in nitro??
