  • My top ten players of all time: 1)Jahangir Khan 2) Geoff Hunt 3) Jonah Barrington 4)jansher Khan 5)Quamar Zaman 6)Mohibullah khan 7)rodney Martin 8)Ross Norman 9)Hiddy jahan 10)john le lievre
  • nvm in the description lol

  • what song?

  • Youtube drags some of the original resolution away from the video but in those times the video quality was a little lower as well, these days they r doing a fantastic job with filming squash footage, I am glad u enjoyed the video and everyone of these great players is unique in their own regard, but for me and for many other pros, Jansher stands as the greatest of all time, even Power was quoted at one point saying: "He's the King Khan, he can do watever he wants", oh n they both r friends also

  • there head to head stands at 9 matches to 2 in Khan's favor, the two matches Power won were in the last year of Jansher's professional career, thanx for viewing n commenting

  • this is a great video. Khan is absolutely incredible. he plays with such ease and control. i wish i had that skill.

  • Don't we all wish the same? Thanx for ur positive feedback and comments

  • Great video.

  • Thanx a million, appreciate the feedback

  • If jansher or jahangir started to seriously start training again i wonder just how far they could get? I think they would have a few single wins in the qualifying rounds of some tournaments but both would struggle to play two days on the run and keep a decent standard.

  • It's not about training, it's about age, their time has past and they made the most of it, there's nothing left to prove to anyone for them... so this speculation of urs is entirely baseless

  • Its interesting to speculate though don't you think?...i mean its not long ago that jansher considered himself good enough for a comeback onlt to struggle a little more than he expected. Geoff Hunt did the same..he made a comeback at around 40 years of age and found it very tough.

I would like to see them play each other one more time...a big money winner takes all televised event..come on you guys lets get it on!

  • never heard of this guy b4, must have been good tho.

  • amazingly enough, he never heard of u either (:P)... all jokes aside, thanx for viewing n commenting

  • haha i sure did enjoy them and they pumped me up , got good feed back from my coach and won another best of 5 with 3-0 :D and the guys been playing for 5 years and today was my 11th day.

  • well done yaara, keep it up and stay away from trouble

  • Great video and music bhaijan.

  • O Pakhair Khawar Khan, laalay di jaan, enjoy the videos jaani and thanx for commenting

  • Zee doesn't Jansher have a son? I was wondering if you'd know how old he is atm & will he ever be following his dad's footsteps?

  • He has two sons and according to him, the elder one plays for fun but still is quite good, whereas the younger one is really taking interest in it and wants to become better at it and Jansher himself seems to have plans for his youngest one as he believes that he has the right instincts and drive for the game... so let's wait n watch but anytime u have such an overshadowing legendary figure in ur family, it's hard to follow in their footsteps because everyone tries to measure u against it

  • Interesting.... Yeah I'd say it's gonna be tough for him alright but if he has that innate talent that Jansher had & if he is passionate enough about the game, then it'll show up no matter what obstacles he faces. From what you've told me, I'm optimistic & lets hope he is the man to recover Pakistan's past squash glory!

  • hey man, U did rly great video

I started play SQUASH on hish school, that are 3 months what I am playing this sport... and I wish to my skill grow up... Im playing 2x in week for 1 hour .. it is enought ? and how I can train individual not on the playground ? :)

  • 2:34-2:41 : Love the way he moves Peter Nicol around the court lol.

  • Yeah I have never seen someone use just the width of the court to embarass a player as quick as Nicol like that ever (and I am pretty sure I never will see it again as well)

  • I´ve never seen squash before, and it´s amazing! I wanna play! could anyone tell me the name of the song? Thanx

  • Fever Dream from the movie soundtrack of 300, goodluck with ur squash n thanx for commenting

  • awesome, is he still playing ?

    Im playing zh

  • No, he retired around '98-'99, glad u enjoyed it though

  • thanks, he is rly greaaaaat

  • respect...

  • respect indeed

  • great work zshaan...

but isn't Jehangir khan the greatest player of all times?

  • read previous comments to catch up on this discussion, and thanx for the positive feedback

  • World Champ man he was awesome he is still

  • it bothers me when people say that he is the roger federer of squash ..Not bashing roger or anything but I dont think he dominated tennis sport as much as jansher ruled squash. Roger should be called the jansher khan of tennis

  • correct..... I agree with u

  • amazing! great ambassador for the sport!

  • What a legend. Complete and utter control.

  • couldn't agree with u more... well said

  • not a scratch on Jahangir... but still fucking amazing, wish i could play like that! he makes it look so easy, he hardly ever runs!!

  • Control, it's pure control... add amazing anticipation to that and u have someone who seems to be everywhere on the court without even trying.... thanx for commenting, glad u like the video and derive inspiration from it...

  • so where is he now, coaching? spending his earnings?

  • is a big landlord back in Pakistan and is doing quite well for himself...

  • Thanks for the video and your coments, you know a great deal but put more of these relics so that we can have a illustration of what you said...

  • more stuff is pretty scarce and I dont want to be completely redundant here, but thanx for ur comments and the positive feedback, appreciate it

  • excellent. what's the music?

  • Thanks for the wonderful posts zeeshan. This one actually has more footage. Can you please pull out a simliar video of Jahangir as well. I have`nt really seen much of him and would love to if any one can post more videos about these two legends

  • Check out my other videos, there is more of Jahangir and Jansher there. Thanx for ur wonderful feedback, sincerely appreciate it

  • zeyshaan, what do you think about the level of squash now? How would you compare the current players to the ones in 80s and 90s?

  • I think we have amazing athletes in our sport as we did in yesteryears, but the game definitely has changed due to the advances in sport related technology, having said that, I don't necessarily think that it has changed totally for the better. Players like the Khans, the Dittmars, the Martins, the Nicols n Powers are a rarity and they played the game in it's most transitional phase and proved themselves to be the best among their lot.. whereas today the game is more about flair, egyptian flair

  • to be exact at the moment, but I see more of skill in terms of fakes n flicks and honestly a much lower level of fitness among today's players, whereas players from the 80s n 90s were fit to the extent to be compared with world renowned olympians easily (probably even fitter). They knew all the tricks of the trade even then to finish points off with flicks n kills as well, the only difference being that they emphasized tight play (length n width) to such an extent that it left their opponents...

  • with not much to kill or flick anyway, till they started getting tired towards the end of their lengthy matches perhaps. Plus, they backed up consistently hard matches with a brilliantly potent performance the next day as well and that is how those players dominated. In today's age if someone has a match longer than 60 minutes then u instantly know that there chances of winning the next day are severely grim, this wasn't the case back in the 80s n 90s. Today it's more about attacking squash but

  • any player worth his salt knows that u can't attack a tight length, can't even cut it off let alone attack it, same goes for exceptional width, u can't do much with those shots other than run to the back of the court and try n dig them out, which honestly makes up for a lot of work during the course of a long drawn out match. Considering these factors, I rate the players of yore above today's crop. They were more intense in their approach to the game n took the game to unprecedented heights...

  • this perhaps explains that Squash saw its biggest (live) crowds in those times and today if 500 people attend a tournament, it's considered to be an amazing turnout, where the British Opens and World Opens of 80s n 90s were regularly attended by people in thousands, averaging three thousand people from late 80s onwards. Today's players may very well exhibit a slightly higher pace than past years' but it doesn't make for 'beautiful n asthetic' squash, which dazzled the audiences of yore... cheers

  • The biggest rally of all time ended in a LET? what a shame!

  • thanx for ur feedback... about the rally, I think it shows the mental and physical tenacity of the players to go through such rallies n not care much about the outcome...

  • In sept 1990 Jahangir was no. 1 in the world Jansher's ranking was no. 2, I know a player who was in the worlds top ten at the same time and he confirms Jahangir was the better player and the all time best!

  • so that's his opinion, good of u to share it, thanx a lot

  • I second that. The guy was untouchable in early and mid 90s. 9 British open titles. Jahangir is easily the all-time best.

  • I meant to say mid 80s, not mid 90s.

  • i love how no one recognizes the fact that jahinger went over 5 years without losing a single game to anyone.

  • been recognized, realized and reiterated many a times, including here, thanx for commenting

  • man i cant be prouder of jahangir and jansher.... and mr. zeeshan uve got talent keep using it....

  • Thanx man, I sincerely appreciate such kind feedback... and u should be proud of them, they're absolute legends of the game and did their country proud

  • Great video! Was that behind the back at 1:42?

  • Yes, behind the back and he actually managed to put a cross court on it as well so that it went the furthest away possible from his opponent. Thanx for ur feedback, much appreciated

  • I'm from India and I've been playing squash for a while now. I remember watching a 1987 recording of the match between Jansher Khan and Jahangir Khan, of the Hong Kong open. It was Jansher Khan's first win over Jahangir Khan. A moment in the world of squash, my heart felt respect to both these greats of the game. Thanks lot for posting these videos.

  • Thanx for commenting n ur positive feedback

  • i have just discovered this sport and know nothing about it other than you hit a ball with a racquet, but i notice that this Khan dude is almost dead calm in most of these clips while his opponents are running crazy. so yea, he looks like a master to me.

  • excellent observation and u will not see anyone dominate the T (central part of the court) this way against the rest of the world. Thanx for watching n ur feedback

  • he is not the roger federer of squash, because jansher is way superior to roger in comparison of the way they play in their respective sport because jansher just defeated everyone i would change that quote to "roger federer is the jansher khan of tennis" because jansher is way much better sportsman

  • I agree with u on all acounts of ur argument, but the thing about a 'qoute' from someone else is that u can't just change it and Mr. Bajwa said it in a different sense than wat u r making it out to be. Federer is still the best player of his era by far and by that description, an analogy based on these two wouldn't entirely be illogical, but like I said, I agree with ur valid point but as they say 'it ain't all just back n white, there is a lot of grey in there too' thanx for commenting...

  • Well what can I say, I just adore squash, eventhough I only started playing it back in March. There's no squash where I'm living at the moment so I have 2 do something to feed my passion 4 the game and ur vids help me do that to an extent; so I really appreciate the work ur doing! Btw, I found a very old mini interview of Jahangir from the 80s where he was on one of Nazia Hassans shows; maybe u've already seen it but if not, here's the link:

  • I wonder if Jansher managed to recover from that full stretch slide @1:56 in time or did he score?

  • U will have to watch the match to see 'what happened next'... anyways, another video's on the way soon enough and I am also planning to get u ur Jahangir video as well, since I manged to gather some footage of the man... thanx for ur continuous views, much appreciated...

  • I wonder if Jansher managed to recover from that full stretch slide in time or did he score?

  • he won like 500 straight games over 5 yrs

  • that was Jahangir Khan, but thanx for commenting

  • its a great shame that they both came around the same era. Theres no doubt that jansher was the greatest retriever of the game and would casually glide round the court making his opponents look shattered, but without any doubt the greatest attacker and punisher in the game was jahanghir khan, just ask gamal awad.

  • I would if the poor man was alive, but Jansher was the best retriever initially when he came on to the scene whereas from late 92 onwards Jansher morphed into the best attacker in the game by carving out his shots to perfection and eliminating his opponents' options on the court and hence eventually hitting a flawless winner, + I think it's great that they came around the same era because they took the game to the next level on a blistering pace because of their rivalry. Thanx for ur feedback

  • Jansher comes quite close but Jahangir Khan is definitely the greatest squash player of all time. If they had played each other when they were both at their absolute peak there's no doubt but that Jahangir would have won. I agree that Jansher was an incredible squash player but Jahangir's power, speed and accuracy would've just been to much for him to handle.

  • When Jansher beat Jahangir 11 times in a row, Jahangir was 24 yrs of age and Jansher was 18. Are u insinuating that a player who is 24 yrs of age is past his peak by that time? Something to think about

  • Good point but I think Jahangir had lost his real hunger at that time. Jansher was fresh and was geared up to challenge the main man whereas Jahangir had won everything possible over FIVE YEARS. He had put everything into squash and was definitely beginning to wind down. So as I said if they had met when they were BOTH at their absolute peak I'm sure that Jahangir would have won 3-1, maybe 3-2 if Jansher played out of his skin!

  • Man, Jahangir won 3 more British Opens after these 11 defeats, and another World Open as well, plus these defeats came in 87-88, and he retired in 93. Fact is, they both played well at the same time in the same era, Jansher became more and more dominant as time went on but to have actually won the World Open in his first year as a pro, beating Jahangir on the way is incredible. Plus Jansher remained dominant in the time of the game's biggest transitions which further elucidates his greatness...

  • I respect your views. I know Jansher was an incredible squash player but we'll just have to agree to disagree on this point:)

  • likewise

  • Great Video man.. Thankx for this ...

    Proud of Khans esp.the 2 " JK's "

  • U r most welcome, I am glad u enjoyed it...

  • He's still second best to the mighty Jahangir!

  • that ain't a universal opinion...

  • Zeyshaan brother they say "Its not your Aptitude but Attitude that determines your Altitude ".

Same is the case with Jansher. No offence to u brother but it might not be the universal opinion but that fact is fact. All the greats of the game rate him after Jahangir..

  • I disagree, there r a number of people who rate him after Jahangir and I respect that, everyone knows that Jahangir did enough in his career to warrant that, but I myself have spoken to top ranked international players and put fwd this question to them. One of the most respected England coaches had this to say, "Anyone who understands the subtleties of squash and knows how to observe it, understands undoubtedly that Jansher Khan was the best player to ever play the sport". Thanx for watching...

  • Jan and Jahangir are two Legendary Js of Pakistan. Jahangir khan during his peak time won 555 consective matches which is still a world record...no body on planet earth could have won such number of matches consectively in any of highly professional level of suport...

  • correction federer is the jansher of tennis...whoever satindar is needs to apologize to jansher...great video though

  • U make a valid point but the guy was just making a reference which the public who's not aware of Jansher will be instantly able to understand the level of his play & dominance and oh yeah, Satinder Bajwa was Jansher's manager for the better part of his career...

  • Haha! Well spotted, great correction. I agree 100%! If it were possible to represent Federer's tennis acheivements & abilities in Squash terms then I'm sure Federer wouldn't stand a chance lol!

  • I once saw Jansher beat Jahangir 3-0, Squash does not get better

  • Thanx for watching, will be uploading another Jansher video very soon, so watch out if u like watching him play...

  • Some great videos you've uploaded about Jansher Zeyshan! If you have time, could you please upload a few more clips so that we can see more of this great legend doing what he does best; ie. Squash! Cheers!

  • sure, working on it n thanx for all the positive feedback, appreciate it

  • hi do u hav any brett or rodney martin footage if so plz upload

    cheers

  • looked at me,smiled at me and sais "beta aisaa kabbhi naa kerna"(son do not ever do that).this was in '92.i think he retired in

'93. my point is that eventhough he was so close to the end of his career,he was so competitive that he dint like even the idea of losing jokingly to a kid.

  • first things first....great video!

keep up the good work.more videos about jahangir will be highly appreciated.both jk's have made the country very proud.

although this is irrelevant to the video..i wud like to share my encouter with jahangir.i lived in karachi and have met jahangir 3 times. the 2nd time i met him..i was 9 yrs old. so when i shook his hand i looked up dead straight into his eyes...and said " uncle mein aap ko squash mein hiraa doon ga( uncle i will defeat you in squash)he

  • 2:54, sums it up perfectly

  • That's his manager being quoted, he said that to me when I met him early last year at the TOC...

  • Can u send more videos of squash PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

  • When I make them, I will upload them, thanx for viewing, hope u enjoyed them

  • Haha yes! Pathan pride!

  • whats the song!

  • Fever Dream - 300 OST

  • About that "longest rally" Is the key word "recorded"?? Wasnt the longest rally in a pro squash match, 7 Mins between Jahangir Khan and Gamal Awad? And wasn't there also a long one between Jahangir and Rodney Martin - about 10 minutes?

  • Some claim longer rallies in other matches, but the rally between Jansher n Jahangir is in fact the longest one 'recorded'. It's documented and the shots n everything were counted and the time specifically specified. I can imagine Gamal and Jahangir playing one for seven minutes, but Rodney Martin was not the sort of guy or athlete to stay in contention of a 10 minute rally. He was a shot-maker/shooter, with him it was either a brilliant shot or a stupid tin...

  • Ah but in the Jahangir/Rodney match, JK powered everything to the back of the court (occasionally dropping to wrench Martins guts) - so he had no choice but to 'stay' his shots and enjoy(?) the punishment....

  • I agree with the description of Jahangir's game but Rodney staying in for 10 minutes? is a little too hard for me to believe, like I said, I can see Awad doing it, cuz he pride himself on fitness as well but not Rodney or Brett for that matter

  • its funny to actually say that someone gave jansher in his prime a hard time but rodney martin always some what gave jansher trouble on account of his shot making ability..any one that was a retriever jansher dominated guys like ditmar eyles robertson

  • I sort of agree there, but I personally think Rodney Eyles and Chris Dittmar were the most consistent when it came to fighting it out with Jansher. Even someone with the amazing skill n wrist of Brett Martin, couldn't faze him, but yeah, Rodney was stronger due to his precision but still not consistent enough as the other two greats I have mentioned. Interesting comment though, very knowledgable, thanx for watching n commenting...

  • and that is what squash is about, consistency thats why the rankings change all the time to this day

  • i luv the vid!

    jansher khan owns in squash!

  • Thanx for watching n appreciating...

  • ur welcome buddy!

btw, where did u get all the amazing quotes from about jansher khan??

    they were amazing!!

did jansher actually achieve near perfect ball control????

  • U can see in the clip for yourself, the quotes are from video commentaries of his matches, books written about him and some web surfing, there were a few more interesting ones as well, but these suited the clips better so used these. About the ball control factor, well u can see how he widens-lengthens the court for his opponents and in my personal opinion, no one ever controlled or will control the ball quite like he did. Once again thanx for ur interest n feedback

  • u put a good amount of effort in the vid which is simply magnificent!

yeah i agree, there ws no1 like jansher khan, and chances r tht no1 WILL be like jansher khan.

    anyway, nice vid once again!

  • Thanx for acknowledging, it really was a lot of hard work & fine tuning, thanx once again, I really appreciate such a positive feedback, cheers...

  • awesome video dude

  • Thanx I am glad u liked it, appreciate the wonderful feedback

  • Oh yes! Please please please...can someone post the greatest rally ever between Jahangir and Jansher! I am sure someone out there will have it in possession. By the way, I would appreciate it if a few more clips of this great champion could be made in time to come. I am definitely placing this one under my favourites!

  • I'm glad u liked the video, thanx for watching

  • Fantastic clip! Amazing to see such brilliant balance for a tall man! Remember watching him play in Kuala Lumpur...breathtaking. To be frank, I lost interest in the game after his retirement. I do watch some of the current matches, sorry to say, they don't have the same spark that Jansher and his opponents ignited in the 90's. I believe that an athlete 10 20 or 30 years ago may've been as fit or even fitter than an athlete today despite not having the best technological advancement in sports!

  • A brilliant video on khan's ability, it shows what a man can achieve with dedication, skill coupled with motivation. he has broken every record in this sport....

  • Thanx for such a wonderful feedback, i'm glad u enjoyed the video

  • sorry about all the comments btw .... youtube comment system is not working for me atm.

  • No problem, this is ur platform only, all comments r welcome. Thanx for ur observtions and time, I hope u r still enjoying the video

  • And finally ... wsmvp22 you do realise that for instance at min 1:50 the clip is in slow motion? :)

  • sarcasm as well, man u'd be a good debater..

  • by the way, the clip at 3:44 (till 3:48) is also in slow motion :)

  • And the funniest fact is that Jansher beat JP and Nicol many times when they where 23-24 years old. Can we not all agree JP was faster then?

  • Many times in the same tournament as well

  • Then how come this wsmvp22 guy says they where slow, not as fit and would not win against the best today??? :)

  • Not to offend wsmvp22, but he hasn't seen Jansher and other guys from that era play as much, anyone who has will not make such claims, but he's totally entitled to his opinion...

  • So the best players of modern squash and one of the games greatest analyst claim the JKs where the best.

  • Robert Edwards thinks Jahangir would have beat JP.

  • I agree with Edwards on this one...

  • Peter Nicol also says Jansher is the best he's played.

  • "Jansher won 99 tour titles in a career spanning 12 years, I won 60 titles in a career spanning almost 15 years, and though some of my titles were not big events, all of Jansher's titles were major tournaments. That's how good he was"

Peter Nicol on Jansher Khan's greatness, during a match commentary in the 2005 Super Series Finals

  • "He is probably the best player that ever played squash"

JP talking about Jansher on his homepage.

  • "He knows the game better than everyone else"

again a quote from JP on Jansher

  • Best squash players of all-time?

    Jansher, Jahangir, Power, Nicol

    Amr Shabana interview

  • I am glad some people still see the light clearly

  • good video

  • THANX

  • Jahangir was better. 10 british opens in a row.

  • u r entitled to ur opinion, thanx for watching

  • wsmvp 22 ur talking through ur bum

  • well put

  • cheers

  • ...leggenda del più grande di tutti i tempi!!!

  • wow this was a really great vid, love his PERFECT dropshots!!!!!!

what background tune did u use?

  • Thanx for the feedback and I am glad u enjoyed the video and his shotmaking, the song used is 'fever dream' from the movie '300', enjoy

  • jahangir is his cousin so it doesnt make a diffrence lol

  • for the record, they're NOT related, they just belong to the same village in Pakistan ('Nawakalee')

  • Amazing Video Man

  • Thanx Man...

  • Jahangir is better, but that was a great video. I especially love the juxtaposition of music, film, and quotes.

  • Thanx for the wonderful feedback and ofcourse Jahangir was a great champion in every which way...

  • did anyone see his come back he got slaughtered

i want to see a clip of his record 248 shots i think i would of died

  • Give him a break, he's almost 40 and has had 5 knee operations and if u see that match, he actually was playing really well till he got fatigued and he cannot lunge in the front corners to save his life (again the damn knee problems). Regardging his 248 shot rally, well that's the opening rally of the 1990 World Open championship against Jahangir Khan & I don't have that clip, if I ever get it, I will post it. Thanx for watching though

  • I cant stop watching this video, by the way man im from egypt and im u 17 texas champion in squash. Im really good, i just moved to america so im trying to get my ranking up in the US here.

  • Good for u man and I am elated that like the video so much. Thanx for the wonderful feedback. Cheers and goodluck with ur squash

  • he is true champion.... respect

  • Thanx for watching n commenting and yes Federer really owns

  • karashi?? do u live in pakistan??

  • No I am not from Karachi, I'm from Islamabad and now I live in the US of A.

  • yeh but barada if he carried on he would of been a champion but he got stabbed in the back and know he is acting and singing in egypt, but shabana is very good athelite, but the next star coming up is rami ashour, one hell of a player and only 19. Were are u from?

  • Pakistan.

  • im not saying khan is bad he is a legend but im from egypt and know days we are world champion shabana did u watch the final haha what a hell of a match shabana killed him.

  • Yeah and I love Shabana myself, I was praying for his victory myself, this time, the first time when he won it in pak, the seond time when he won it in hong kong and this time as well. My prayers were always with him and he is a fantastic human being and champion, but u got ur reply to ur earlier statement and that's all I had to say anyways

  • barada beat him!!!!!!

  • ... and he beat Barada, MANY TIMES

  • yeah keep em coming

  • Keep them coming

  • Have u heard about his nephiew aamir atlas khan
