  • I love it.. I was just reading the 1 samuel, where david play lyre for king sha'ul so the evil spirit would leave him.. and I became curious how the lyre sounds like. :)

  • you got some awesome reverb going on in your little room. very nice instrument and music. eyes across gernerations on a theme.

  • זה טוב!!!!! תודה רבה!

  • Aleichem Shalom! Toda. Beautiful. Like some others have said: extremely rich.

  • Shlama Alokhom. Tawdi = Assyrian :)

  • Beautiful music Michael! The Temple was a reflection of the coming Messiah and his salvation as Daniel 9 expressed to make an end of sin and to bring in everlasting righteousness but in Daniel 9 it also said he was cut off from the living, as a sacrifice for sin. The only one who was cut off, not for himself, was Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Hope of Heaven through the forgiveness of sin. Look back at Daniel 9 only Jesus fulfilled perfectly and witnessed alive again by over 500 witnesses!

  • Keep praising The Lord.. Amen.. Shalom

  • I think that the limit is 50 years on a piece of music, at least the composition. After that Im pretty sure it becomes public property unless the composer is still alive.... Thats what ive been told but I could be wrong.

  • praise God!

  • IMPORTANT! Does ANYONE out there, know if this beautiful melody to "Shalom Aleichem", which was composed by the American Rabbi, Israel Goldfarb in 1918, is still subject to any copyright restrictions? I have been unable to ascertain this information from ANYWHERE!

  • i belive it isnt couse there are a lot of singers in my country that sings to this melody. one thing though- on the disc- on the credit about the melody- they do say that it is "tradditional"

    glad if i helped :]

  • It sounds a lot like the tsimbl in klezmer music, only with a sharper sound from the plucking. Kol hakavod!

  • Your are the first person I have seen that could play. Great job.......

  • beautiful and rich...shalom!

  • quite something :)

  • Aleichem Shalom. Wonderful.

  • Just fabulous. Best lyre-playing on YouTube!

  • Incidentally, there is a conference in Jerusalem (January 6-8, 2008) on ancient music in the Middle Eastern and Classical worlds. It seems I have been tentatively accepted to present a paper on Suzanne Haik-Vantoura's work; the trick now is getting there!

  • One last thing: I hope you like my new video of Psalms 100 from Suzanne Haik-Vantoura's THE MUSIC OF THE BIBLE REVEALED - VOLUME 3! :) Get it while the link is hot!

  • Yes, I have heard it - absolutely magnificant!Keep spreading the word about the fully restored,3000 year old music of the Bible...most people out there have never even heard of Suzanne Haik-Vantoura,let alone her truly monumental musical discovery!

  • That's something I hope my tentative trip to Jerusalem will help change -- in a big way -- among those who ought to benefit from it the most! :)

  • All those techniques were used one way or another in ancient lyre playing, and still are where lyres are still played. Your combination may be unique in living tradition, however. :) (שלום מיוחנן רכב)

  • I liked your interpetation!

..I want it to be Shabbat again.. still have to wait a couple more days..

    oy vey..
