Best band I ever saw live. What makes them different from all the other bands is that they were one of us....if ya know what I mean that's cool....if ya don't I'm so sorry.
Pay attention people! Dan was way ahead of the curve back when this released. If you dig the message of this song. You should check out a track on the first Dan Reed Network disk, intitled "THE WORLD HAS A HEART TOO".
Loved Dan Reed Network at the time, really think the B Side to this song "Thy Will Be Done" should have been the A side, kicking tune and the lyriics are sooo unfortunately true today. Off to see Dan in Sheffield, UK tomorrow night, cant wait!

Oh yeah I was a full blown convert to DRN when they were alive n kickin (and I was too..) I liked the fact that although I was a bone fide Rock Dude that DRN didn't try to be the Heavy Rock band they weren't, they did what they wanted sometimes rock sometimes funk sometimes even pop but I never felt it was a sell out, I felt it was who they were. Love the last rap in this song - for a time I was that guy...just never made love to the razor blade...sounds painful
OMG I remember when this was a fast song and then they slowed it down - used to see them every single weekend in Portland down at the last hurrah and everywhere else even went to Seattle and Cali to see them - they were the funnest act you were guaranteed to dance all night and just have fun. Those were the days. Still gets me amped up!
I got called a sad act at school because I said this was my favorite song!!! Im 11 years old, and would happily be 40 to of lived through the ages of GOOD music...
Me too...in relation to age. Absolutely underrated...Dan Reed Network were great...I´ve seen them playing live as the support act for Bon Jovi in Cologne. I didn´t know them then, but after that gig I had to get the album " SLAM ". Needless to say, I was caught right from the start. Sometimes people don´t see the jewel in a sheer stone.
I always thought this band was going places, from ritual(which was a great debut, sharp guitars and an edgy dance feel) unfortunately the path was a hard one to follow for longevity...fav line of all time "what happen to her boyfriend?? ...well he believed in commercials that said drink beer, get laid but at closing time he was alone,he didn't get paid, last night his love was a razor blade...awesome!
does any one have a video of their song that was in the cutting edge..i think it was called baby now...or baby I?..if so I would love to see it...I alwyas thought that song rocked in that movie
Saw them live five times - at one I was close enough to get some good piccies - but after several moves I can't find them. If they turn up I'll post them up here! - Over and out!
