His guitar always sounds out of tune and raunchy, but I sort of think that's the point. It could be his Whammy pedal, I have one of those things and it makes your pitch fluctuate because the pedal doesn't rock all the way to the backwards position most of the time. There are rubber stoppers under the pedal, and i just took them out, problem solved. Maybe Jack never figured it out, lol. Then again, I didn't even see the Whammy pedal in this video, heheh.

I'm a drummer and I don't really know much about guitars but I do play an acoustic on a regular basis...can anyone tell me what kind of guitar Jack is rockin' out on? Does it naturally sound like that with an amp or do you need an effects pedal for something like that?

He's using a JB Hutto Montgomorey Airline, they're rather rare, but Eastwood makes brilliant repros of em which are actually better than the original in ways (not made of shitty fiberglass).

For distortion he uses an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff, and a Digitech Whammy pedal when he wants to play bass.

If you want a similar sound you don't necesseraily have to buy the pedals, an Eastwood sounds pretty much the same as his guitar even without distortion.

Jack doesn't play the original res-o-glas type. His guitar is also a reissue of the original but it ain't the real airline guitar. I own an Eastwood model and it is the coolest guitar i've ever played.
