And I can tell you straight away that even a graduate pilot from a quality academy earns more than your no lifer ass will see all the way until your retirement! I don't know how it is in the rest of the world, but a retired 20 year Air Canada pilot will make well over $100,000 a year on a pension. Some close to $200,000 (depending on how many years he's invested in the company).

Many Middle Eastern airlines pay very handsome salaries as well (tax free too). But we don't do it for the money. We do it because we love to fly, and love that we get paid to do it.

the best thing about this job is the views and vast distances of travel. simpy cuz in the states, even though you might have a 4 year degree, you'll be making a h.s. diploma salary for the first 10 years before you make anything significant.

its a risky and tough business to get into. you can't do it for the money, at all, you have to do it really because you'd love to do it.

And moreover, expensive aviation schools offers flying courses and standard the same as to those students who are in affordable institutions.
