lol pcsx2 can run on a 2.12ghz dual core without any loss in gameplay speed..newest builds have speed improvements and bugs removed...you dont need a high end pc for running ps2 games...graphics card dont matter much cause gsdx requires more cpu not gpu..zerogs is the one that relies on gpu not cpu...but anyone with at least a dual core can play all games without problems and btw dead or alive 2 now goes in game newest build at emucr.com ;) and always updated daily to weekly basis :)

i use an asus g60vx 2.12ghz oced at 2.6ghz, nvidia geforce 260m 1gb, 4gb ddr3..but i have a question...in ff x-2..you know the fmvs that come up even the very first when start game? every other game they show fine but some reason they not showing correctly, i can hear sound but the image i can barely see the clouds move..its like a tv with thick black lines across and has blocks scattered through image but after the game is fine...know anything around this?

EE Cyclerate x2 or x3

IOP x2 cycle rate hack

and if still not full speed use

VU cycle stealing slide it to 1 or 2 if still not full speed.

Also is your cpu support

MMX.. SSE.. SSE2.. SSE3.. SSSE3 SSE41?

if yes go to plugins and use gdsx SSSE3 or SSS41 which is the fastest. let me know.

I play this game and full speed as well and i only OC my Q6660 to 3.4Ghz and gtx 260 (216 core) GS.

Im actually @4.0ghz now ive tried all the speedshacks to there MAX! but i dont notice any difference. Im using Gdsx SSE2 plugin, my cpu supports SSE3.1 but i guess you need SSE3.0 for PCSX2.

It seems PCSX2 sucks for AMD i noticed an fps drop from a OC 3.2ghz duel core to my new Phenom II x4 3.2ghz stock.

The fact that an Nvidia 8400 is terrible. And also the fact the guy who made this video overclocked his CPU to 4GHz. You would not be able to run the PS2 emulator at all with a good FPS.

Does the first level run at full speed? My specs are:

The first level starts okay, but then the framerate drops when the first enemies show up on camera :S Then it keeps varying in speeds on certain areas. Is there a certain setting scheme you use?

Analog control for gamepads is not supported at this moment I think. With the TwinPad Keyboard plugin v0.7.0 you can assign the analog controls (and the other controls) to your keyboard however.

@shootalltheclowns - at what speed is your CPU? Overclock it if it's below 3GHz, and also, go to your options and see if there's any fix for God of War. You need a decent (not top of the line) graphics card, above a GeForce 6600 or something should be enough, not sure though. As for the plugin, try both out and see which one gets you a better speed. Go to Ngemu for further help.

How fast is your CPU? If you think just because you have a Quad Core you'll play better than this video's author, you're mistaken.

Since PCSX2 only uses up to 2 cores, whether you have a Dual or Quad Core makes no difference at all. What matters is the speed at which your CPU is at. And his (the author) is at 4GHz, which is a lot. Almost every game will run perfect with that speed. Over 3GHz will give you nice performance, and 3.4~3.6 is already very good. Overclock your CPU and you'll see.

With his specs most games are fully playable.

A CPU over 3Ghz can run most games at decent speed, and 4Ghz can run them much better even.

Though, if you're using an ATI graphics card, be sure to update your drivers to Catalyst 9 series if you're using a dual core.

ATI cards, when using any driver before catalyst 9 series, will decrease performance in PCSX2, though it affects dual cores mostly. The ATI cards would pass on their workload to the CPU, which would have to do part of the card's job, besides it's own job, resulting in PCSX2 running slower. It's now fixed with Catalyst 9 series.

If the game you're playing is GFX dependent, yes. The GFX's wokload will stay on the GFX instead of going to the CPU. If the game is more CPU dependent then you won't get all that faster, since the workload will still be on the CPU.

Ok. Pentium D, although a dual cpu, isn't as good as a Core 2 Duo. At that speed, it might run simple games at good speed (FFX) but complicated games (like FFXII) will be more difficult to run or your PC. Also, that graphics card isn't good, really. If you can, upgrade at least that. You've got HD4550 or around that price if you don't wanna spend much, and it'll help you on PCSX2.

I'm guessing that simpler games like Final Fantasy X or so might run decently with that CPU. You should however upgrade at least your graphics card, as it might stop you from playing some games. And see if you can overclock your CPU, with PCSX2 that helps a lot. As for Budokai 3, you might be able to run it decently if you overclock your CPU and get a better GFX (doesn't need to be a GTX280, lol. Get a cheap one, almost everything on the market is better than your GFX)

look, save some money and get a cheap graphics card. You've got some cheap ones, like a HD3450 or a HD4550 or something like that. They're not the best, but they're cheap and will work better with PCSX2.

PCSX2 is mostly CPU dependent. A good CPU and mediocre graphics card is preferable to a mediocre CPU and a good graphics card.

Be sure to overclock you CPU to get the most out of it on PCSX2.

depends on whether that AMD is a dual core or not. Minimum acceptable frequency is around 3Ghz, or most games won't be all that playable. Not all, but most. 3,2~3.6Ghz is good and will give you good performance. 4Ghz+ is really good, and is the top of performance for PCSX2. Intel CPUs perform better than AMDs at the same speed.
