I'm not a huge fan of this method. It doesn't teach you to handle. If any thing it teaches you bad habits to over using your shoulders. It's confusing to the dog because using your hands isn't just to point where the next obstacle is. It tells them to get out, come close, or not go past this point. Not using your hands isn't going to help you become a better handler. You just need to be taught how to use them correctly and trust your dog which is what I guess your friend is having trouble with
@animalfanatic19 Do it! And make it a response video. ;D Also it's cuz I wanna see the shimmy. :3 Anna and Timmi Sue are a great team to watch and to admire.
I have done that with Sakari before- because we use APHS, it was never an issue for us, haha. But I like to RUNNNN my butt off to be with her so I can be there to support everyyy obstacle, I'm a front cross girl, what can I say :P I have also learned to keep a good pace and still have my arms out for support. It can be a fun exercise though:)
@HannahB539 I like runners like you A LOT! GO FRONT CROSSES! I use to do this with Sam as well. It helps a lot for sure. Sam was not speedy at trials but at home and training facilities he kept a speedy pace. :] You are one of the smoothest handlers I have seen so far. Your hard work shows. Thanks for the comment!
