  • @spinkicker37 Great job man! that is awesome, good to see you have great pride in your work. I have no special blacksmithing tools but I have like 5 rail road spikes. So what did you use to pound your steel on? and where can you get leather for wrapping?

    Thanks man,

  • you sir need to talk louder :D

  • Well,I hate your haircut but admire your desire to do something creative.I can relate to the desire and self satisfaction in doing something like making a knife.I have kept a forge around since my teen years and now I am 49.So I would tell you "very cool"on your knife making adventures.I certainly hope you continue and make more knives in the future...

  • Keep up the work, I am certainly going to! It's exciting to make something with one's own hands! Heck, I can do a minor repair and admire it for days. ! I hope you represent a trend in our American culture.

  • this was an old video so if you havent figured it out yet it will be a lot easier to work with your blade if its thinner. your handle area is fine but thin out the actual blade and you will be able to make it sharper and stuff :) happy forging

  • @drxxragexx I have seen that done and dont personally like it. I dont have to do the same thing everyone else has done. Doesn't make it lame in the least.

  • nice knife bro. what did you use to heat it up? a forge?

  • @234maniak I am yet to build a functional forge, so the temperature was a bit low for what i wanted, but i used a fire pit and made a concrete dome for it to help contain the heat.

  • @spinkicker37 thanks for the reply. yea i dont really have all the tools to make good quality stuff. but i do have a fire pit and im gonna try to make a knife out of a railroad spike. just so its strong and wont break. and did you just hammer it to make that thin down the edge?

  • @234maniak I hammered it out for a while, then took the edge to a bench grinder.

  • are you a metal brother i thing it?

  • get a hair cut, hippie.

  • @iandegia already did, about 4 months ago.

  • @spinkicker37 well ok then :^P

  • That's a nice spike knife man

  • "i dont own any railroads, so.........." LOL

  • Dont cut yourself with it

  • hey, i know 00Caleb (u should too) he told me u had a video on a railroad spike knife, and let me tell you, u made one hell of a leather wrapped handle, if those grind lines were even, i would've sworn that was a custo knife, good job!

  • @sawyertheswager yeah jizzbucket ;P

  • Did you heat it up, or did you just bash the hell out of it while it was cold? If the former, did you heat treat it afterwards?

  • @Makermook I heated it up, but havent gotten around to treating it yet.

  • Illiterate trolls...gotta love 'em.

  • HAIREATER

  • @PATISHAH I try my best to avoid that. It seems here i have failed :P

  • its AN emo fag, not a.

  • Nice job! How did you came up with that idea? Now we like to see the finished product!

  • thank you! i just had some railroad spikes and one day decided to see what i could do with them in a fire, so thats what came of it :)

  • i want 2 see what it looks like now!

  • i havent been able to grind it any more, because last time i literally scared the crap out of my cats, but i plan on making more and actually getting an anvil to work much quicker.

  • it looks cool and for a first it is good it looks about like my first knife! lol keep working and get it thiner and you will have a sharper knife!

  • nice job.keep working,you show promise.
