@TheCSXGUY not true. it clearly says on the box "waterproof electronics" for the brushed stampedes. i drive in water all the time. i also break in my motors in a glass of water.
Hey kiddo, that's great...I love my 2wd traxxas stampede...one of my favourite trucks. Make sure you dry your truck out real good afterward and check your wheel bearings. If you don't want to have to take out the bearings all the time to dry and oil them, spray WD-40 into the inner hubs before and after you play in water. WD-40 repels water and is a lubricant as well. Has worked great for me!
@Reyrliekmudkipz brushed motors dont last long. u can drive through water as long as you clean the motor out afterwards. i break in my brushed motors in a cup of distilled water. it gets any dirt and debris out too.
@JkeeneMX607 different story for the ESC though.. but if you maintain them properly they will last.. but its not a great dirt basher solely on the motors open brushes..
@Reyrliekmudkipz i agree. thats pretty much the story with anything. if you maintain your shit, it will last.lol. i burnt up 3 motors in the first month i had my stampede. having the right gearing helps a lot with the brushed motors too cuz they will overheat with too much "stop-n-go".
later that night, His dad came home and beet him for not holding the controller right, and driving through water. you say its rust proof, its not completely, soon you will see rust on screws and turnbuckles, not to mention water can still seep in if you are driving in water like that over and over.
for those saying motors arent waterproof... Obviously never maintain their vehicles. You can run any motor in water, brushed, brushless... It doesnt matter. You just have to make sure it is cleaned out afterward. And take care of your bearings not only in the motor, but everywhere on the vehicle. If electronics are waterproof, your whole vehicle is waterproof.
That thing drifts like a BOSS!!! As for all the comments about rusting: do what your grandma did with her iron skillet, dry it off, then wipe down all the metal parts with an oil soaked rag. WD40 works well in tight areas, but you might want to get some "motor spray" from your local hobby shop or online - its specifically designed to keep your motor clean and rust free.
dont belleve this guy i have the stampede xl-5 the brush motor was shot from driving in the water and plus i new it was shot beacus i saw a spark and i new it was bad so yeah i woudent try driving in the water or else youl have ur moter broken
i just red all thes comments yes you can pop a wheelies on the stanpede it dont have to be a vxl min ant but you do suck at driving and y dont you go all the way in the big puddle
@blab8811 well your controller driving is a little "special" and you were just crusing thru puddles you should be able to do some wheelies with it atleast
@xtmracing14 what do u mean special? And i was trying to show that its water proof and nothing else. I cant pop a wheelie since it isnt a VXL and its wet outside.
@xtmracing14 maybe you should stop hating on me when you only have 87 views on all your videos. This one vid alone has 80 times all your total views. Go troll on someone elses comments.
