If you want to know why this was canned, just look at the Toshiba Libretto W105 to see the problems of actually implementing tablets like this. Dual screen tablets with processors fast enough to support something like this suck down battery like no other and run hotter than hell at this point. They also cost over $1000...even for little 7" screens. It's just not a feasible product.
maybe this is just microsoft tactic to distract customer's interest from iPad. I think Courier is more for productivity while iPad focus heavily on entertainment. well, if this thing going out, i'll buy it along with iPad
@METZOMB09 it is complete vaporware. there has been absolutely no word from microsoft, or anyone else about the courier since this video came out...which was quite some time ago. i'll be amazed if this ever becomes a reality.
WOW!! I saw the old clips b4 but this 1 is jus gr8. I have an iPhone & iPod touch so I dnt need an iPhone lrg r iPod XL... I mean iPad. Something new & fresh is needed & this is it
This looks very promising but I have yet to see a final product and can't decide. I know Ipad was severly undercut and is out of the race but Slate and many others can beat the Courier if it doesn't deliver what's in this video. Wish it was alittle bigger though as they said closed it will be the size of a 5 in by 7 in photograph.
But that's because Apple gears more towards the casual person's entertainment reasons and this Courier is designated towards people who are very business and school orientated.
@TPLicker Really? This is nothing more than a CG I. A cartoon if you will. I may as well had watched an episode of The Jetsons. At least Apple shows REAL products. I, for the life of me, can't understand all of the hype behind something that was never real. Great concept though.
It could be a problem because of the kindle but yeah, it would be a great idea. I'll have to see more videos or probably try it for myself when it comes out but I have the feeling that the book design itself makes it a winner. At the end, ergonomy is the main catch for portable devices and I think that this is going to be the 'future' of books. Hope that they won't scrue it up cause the idea is great in my opinion.
Microsoft, we will not forgive you for letting this project die.

Love it! As this is rumored for Q4, I hope they'll put a mirasol screen on each side of the tablet for readability.

Wow. If the rest of the product is like this and microsoft can promote this they have a winner. I wouldn't get an ipad but just maybe I'd get this.

Touch hold to open up spiral menus and slide into middle pocket - all too complicated to stay intuitive. Let's see if this can be implemented.
iPod & iPhones are best sellers why? despite the sophisticated output, the interface stays simple & intuitive
