I just read about Rami in Brother Andrew's book 'Light Force'. He spoke so well of Rami (the book was published in 2004). However one can check numbers and see that under Israeli occupation still numbers of population are growing, where Israel rules- churches and monasteries are preserved and freedom of religion is honored (mosques too), so this speaks for itself. As to the regime, Israeli government is problematic, mainly for Israelis, that is my view. Still if I had to choose this is the least worse option
