  • HAHAHA terry

  • Dispatch of an edible missile.

  • Terry Gilliam is trying so effing hard not laugh

  • @xDaXAFImoshmonkey Trying, and failing :)

  • Was not really expecting that ending......

  • Wow, Bill Oddie! :D 3:45

  • notice the perfection in every move. Brilliant.

  • So blunt, so simple, so funny.

  • I absolutely love the expression Gilliams' face! LOL

  • @ooori21 *on Gilliam's face :P

  • the three course complex

  • i love how they're trying not to laugh on stage... LOL gatta love these guys.

  • that was beautiful :)

  • Gilliam is enjoying this so much. makes it even better to watch.

  • Michael's deadpan face made this even more epic.

  • I love Terry Gilliam's expresion at several points in the movie. And I feel sorry for Jones. And I honestly don't know how any of them hold themselves together without bursting into laughter

  • I love how pleased with himself gilliam looks all the time!

  • Only Monty Python can make pie throwing seem sophisticated

  • halerious!!!!!!!

  • Gilliams hair is really long...

  • man chapman looks hammered in this video

  • @jadger1871 I think he is, he was known for often being drunk on stage and alcoholism is what killed him too.

  • @MichielThePieEater nope, he had throat cancer

  • @MichielThePieEater No, he sobered up before he did the "Life of Brian". He died of cancer, not alcoholism.

  • Brilliant. So funny after many years. It's the first time I see it.

  • Only Python could make pies in the face funny again. Great timing, love Terrys G and J!

  • It is pre-Python. It was written by Terry Jones and Michael Palin whilst they were at Oxford University. It was then loaned to the Cambrige University Footlights for their "Cambridge Circus" show, starring John Cleese and Graham Cleese. You can see the sketch in full on the "Monty Python: Live at the Hollywood Bowl" film.

  • They're such good sports, especially the middle one (can't decide who it is). Palin's got stone emotions to be able to keep a straight face, while Gilliam's cracking a smile. ;)

  • @xemily91 The one in the middle is Terry Jones.

  • LMAO looks there is more Monty Python dvd's to buy after all

  • lol i love it!!

  • Was this an old sketch they did at Cambridge or is it an actual Python sketch?

  • gilliams always either laughing or trying not to to laugh, but he seems to be always smiling, hes awesome, theyre all aweesome!!!long live the monty python crew

  • LOL. The simple surprise deposit is the best! 3:00

  • Na the completely unexpected deposit at 4:35 was better.

  • when you think you seen it all of monty python you didn't

  • I'd never seen this before, I am amazed!

  • I love this. Poor Jones. Gilliam is loving this. You can tell. Just adoring it. The sideways deposit is wonderful. And the surprise one might be my favorite. And the 3 course one.

  • just great geniue humor right there.

  • I love this sketch. Poor Terry J. You can tell Gilliam is just loving this.

    Brilliant!

  • BILL ODDIE? bringing the pies on (2nd time round) was it?

  • This is only the tip of Slapstick comedy, Toad Fanatic. But of course a very funny tip. SlapShtick (as it is also know) also came from the Keystone Cops, Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplan, Even up to Dick Van Dyke. long before the likes of the Monty Python group and Benny Hill and such. Keep studying grasshopper, there is much more to learn.

  • After viewing this skit I now understand slapstick. :D

  • And I wasn't even expecting it! AWSOME

  • loved that last bit... absolutely amazing!

  • Hahahahahhahahahah!!! :D:D:D:D::D:DD

  • Who is that who gives the new pies to the three? Is it Eddie Izzard?

  • Comment removed

  • No, Eddie Izzard brought the chair on.

  • Eddie Izzard is a girl? That was agirl that brought the chair on.

  • Woman, transvestite. It was a joke, you know?

  • I'm pretty sure it might have been Carol Cleaveland. Yes, looking again I'm quite sure its Carol.

  • Terry Gillaim's face at 3:52...lmao

  • Some buddies and I performed the pie bit in a show once. Great stuff...

  • The three stooges meet Cambridge academia.

  • 2:30 Gillian's cracking up!

  • 本気で笑える!

  • "the edible missile"

    truly amazing.

  • The last one is pure gold.

  • 3:43 - bill oddie?

  • Yes

  • yea i think so xD

  • "Could you ask that man to not come on the stage again, please!" LOL Dr. G. Chapman!

  • What's that bit with The Fringe at 1:37? And what is Jonathan saying?

  • at 3:10, mike looks as though he'd just won gold at the olympics. lol

  • LOL at so many things-Graham's narration, Terry J's taking all sort of punishment, and Terry G's 70's hair

  • Boris Johnson had dark hair! hmmm

  • windows task manager>firefox>end task

  • Pooor Jonesy if he isnt in drag, hes gettin pies in the face LOL

  • Now I'm hungry...

  • The essence of Monty Python.

  • You're absolutely darn right there, mr. Leechtime.

  • Terry Gilliam is trying so hard not laugh lol many many congrats to him in winning at the BAFTAs, he truely deserves it!

  • I love the juxtaposition between the simplicity of the sight gags and the erudite descriptions of them.

Contrasts are SOO interesting I think.

  • I was going to say the same thing.... just in a less impressive way haha!

    Great video! i love it!

    Thanks for sharing Palli!

  • haha lolololol i cant belive that i thought cleese would get him without knowin hahahaha

  • Terry Gillian's face is priceless

  • Who would have thought the American would be the funniest guy in this bit?

  • @BTLemming err, no-one. he isn't!

  • @BTLemming i think the american that it...

  • @BTLemming who would have given a fuck?

  • @Bulltankey As of this writing, 44 people.

  • @BTLemming have you seen the internet peoples? that doesnt count as much, im suprised half of them werent wondering why they didnt have a thumb on the bottom of the hand just like the picture

  • Looks a bit three stooges this... Artistically inspired perhaps?

  • For a minute I thought that they were going to throw the pies at the audience.

  • Lol you've got to love the Monty Python team :)

  • 3:01 is perfect in every way.

  • michael does look too happy to be doing it. this stuff usually makes him laugh.

  • extremley stupid but stupid things are always very funny ***** out of *****

  • Simply brilliant Python! Encore! 5*

  • does anyone know what year this was. I never seen it before, thanks for posting. i loved it. joney got a pie in the crouch...only the pythons can make that funny

  • I'm pretty sure this was in 1976. Graham Chapman looks pretty wrecked doesn't he..? I suppose this was the worse stage of his alcoholism.

  • I think by that time he was up to 2 bottles a day, then he quite in 78 to do life of brian. if you look for the secret life of brian he talks about how he knew he had to quite because the other guy didnt think he could do a huge role like that unless he did.

  • you can find it on Monty Python live at the Hollywood Bowl....the sketch is actually somewhat longer, involving some lumber. A must see for sure!

  • The Hollywood Bowl one is actually in many ways better, I think. Better filmed, at least.

  • agreed!

  • ok, one. Gilliam's walk makes this the best. two. what was up with jones' hair? and, three. love the secret pie from chapman to cleese!

  • The worst part about Police Balls is the thorough cleanup necessary afterward!

  • Wow. That was great, never seen before!

  • I wish I was around to see any of thier live shows. These guys are brilliant.

  • was that bill oddie?

  • The only people who can make a pie in the face genuinely funny!

  • "The dispatch of an edible missile!" HAHA! Hilarious!!! Classic Python!!

  • lol well it was deffinately unexpected!
