  • good job providing your betta with a good home :)

  • Poor creature. :( I'm gonna ask my local pet store to stop selling those aquariums.

  • poor guy. nice prison cell.

  • OMG my fish is the same colour in the same bow... =)

  • im sorry but that betta needs more room

i used to keep my betta in a tank like that until i did some research and now hes in a nice 3 gallon tank

what the tell u at the pet stores is wrong and they need space just like ever other fish

  • @oOWolfluverOo its that true?:O at a pet store they told me that this type of tank is the best for betta fish..i belive them at first but now i hate them! Today i cleaned the bowl and one minute after i realized that my betta have ICH!!i dont know what to do...plz can u say me some examples of good tanks?

  • @SithTheFavourite yeah.. they lie which sucks

i personally have an eclipse 3 gallon which is great but 5 or 10 gallon ones are the best for bettas

also glass is better then plastic so go that route

  • @oOWolfluverOo Today i bought my betta a 30 gallon bowl aquarium is it good? The bowl is made by glass

  • @SithTheFavourite yes very much!

that'll be one happy betta :)

  • I understand that pet stores say you can keep them in things like this, but it is animal cruelty!

They are cold blooded! they need heated water at 80F at all times and they need a big enough tank to add a heater, at least triple the size of this. Keeping them like this risks their lives as they get diseases so easily preventable, all the best and consider changing your bettas conditions :)

  • although i think its nice to have a betta in a large tank, small tanks are okay! in the wild betta's live in puddles! and in pet stores they are in tanks smaller then 1 gallon. chill out everyone there is no REAL animal curelty going on here!

  • :(...

  • PEOPLE bettas did not live in rice patties that are a foot deep! It's just a common misconception.

But I do believe they should live in 2 gallons or more with a plant and/or ornament they can hide in.

Always keep the temperature at the betta zone! Filters are not necessarily needed, because the last betta I had was very clean and didn't poop that much. Just do 1-2 50% water changes a week and the betta will be fine. Sure they can live in that, but they aren't really happy.

  • @BAEnErGYzZ Clearly you don't know what you are talking about. Betta fish may be bred in these conditions but it don't mean to say its correct. A betta fish may be an anabantoid but they still need a filter to eliminate the ammonia etc in the water column from the fish itself. You should clearly know this owning fish for 7 years surely? I think 30 years of fish keeping experience beats 7 years ;)

  • one word disgusting plus get a filter and a bloody bigger tank

  • also at least half of todays bettas that are in captivity are bred and normally each betta only gets a cup of water. giving them 5 gallon tanks is huge compaired to a cup. but what i am trying to say is as long as you keep your tank maintaned and dont go overboard with decor a 1/2 gallon tank can be a good home for a betta. and also a great tank that isnt too big or too small for a single betta is the tetra water wonders 1.5 gallon aquarium which would only need weeky water changes.

  • LISTEN PEOPLE! in the wild bettas live in rice paddies. they are a foot deep but miles wide. bettas are terratorial fish and normally their terratory is normally only half a gallon to 2 gallons big. so having one in this tank is ok but most people dont know about nitrate and ammonia and all that so they only clean it when it gets cloudy not when it needs to be cleaned. for people who do keep up with their tank maintainence a small tank can be ok for a betta.

  • has anyone know but if you have your betta in over a 3 g tank your betta doest no what to do with all the space so hell go into the smaller part but dont get me wrong the bigger the more oxy

  • he looks awfully cramped but then what do i know hes not me fish

  • wat if walmart took bad care of their fish so softies ... like me buy them then they just die and i got a female betta and she is in my 10 gallon tank she stays in 1 spot

  • what iis peta?

  • @flyguy373 The most stupid organisation ever!!!

  • Poor little thing, I hope you've got him a new home in the past 2 years since this vid. They need at least 3-5+ gallons.

  • were is his heater filter oh and what a lovely cofin

  • he has no space get a 5 gallon with a filter and a heaater

  • would a 5 gallon fish tank be ok for a betta?

  • @pinkraindrop101 oh yes :) perfect, I have 2 of my males in their own 5 gallon. (i have ten bettas ) you could even do a 2.5 that would be great as well! I would say try to stay at 1 gal and above. as long as you maintain water quality your fish should stay happy and healthy :) Feel free to message me with anymore questions. :)

  • @snapplechick716 could I put two females in a 5 gallon? or should I just put one.I have had lots of bettas before all in one gallons. I find females to be more active than males

  • @thebettalover also in the wild they have thousands of gallons but the height is like 3-6 inches bitch

  • @thebettalover123 you keep them in a bowl? Your such a dumbass that's why they made fishtanks if you can't afford one why do you even have fish

  • I have kept betta in small and large tanks lots of people disagree on the size they should be kept in some poeple say 1/4 a gallon is fine or 1/2 or 1 gallon and up they will live in fine. If you keep your betta in larger tank ya it will be happier if you have all the equipment ya it will be happier it is all up to you on how you want to keep your betta dont listen to all these jerks they all have good points but like i said its up to you

  • Respond to this video... I think that 1 gal is the smallest a person should go, as long as water quality is maintained i dont see why the fish cant be happy, I have a 1 gal for one of my boys that is planted and Haku loves swimming around his plants. and bettas do need heaters as they are tropical fish, people disagree but they are tropical fish and require heaters, sometimes lights can keep the temp high enough so in that sense they dont need heaters but they need a temp of 78-80

  • Lots of people say that betta need the full aquarium equipment filters heater ect

Other epople say that they dont need all of that and that betta can live in small space with no equipment, Betta do need clean water they live in rice patties and the plants there soak up all the bad stuff in the water so as long as you clean the water the fish will be ok I have kept betta in large, small tanks. they both seem to live as long and you keep good care of them u want to keep your betta like thatcool

  • Your betta is going crazy because it's stressed from seeing it's reflection on all four walls. Oh, yeah, nice torture chamber, btw.

  • Um I saw this tank at petsmart, and wow its so small. Looks bigger on youtube lol. Instead of buying it I bought a 2.5 gallon tank and bought some mollies and a betta. Its right next to my 20 gallon tank

  • ya guy I couldnt even fit a beer in that, Id need a second cup and what that cost you? $10 $12? well for 20 to 30 depending on the sale witch they have almost every day some sale, you can get a 2.5 gal, then all you need is the heater and a silk plant, maby a cave, but a lil cup thing with no heat? thats like too small of rubbers with no pussy anyways!!!

  • lol nice buble nest there betta

  • The fish looks healthy to me no fin rot and appears to quite active!! With all the water changes he should do just fine. Oh and have any of you ever personally asked a fighter what kind of environment they would like to live in, their brain is the size of it's eye which is also the size of it's stomach so needless to say the fish couldn't care less were it lives as long as the water quality is good and it's stomach is satisfied!! (: so please chill out people!! xxxx

  • My betta fish Jud looks exactly like that fish! I thought about buying that same fish tank on petco.com but I got a bigger one for him instead. I like the video by the way.=]

  • I got a betta Its in a 2.5 gallon tank I think it's quiet a upgrade from way there kept in at the stores he seems happy but he's quiet scared if me will he get less scared it's kinda annoying.ps I have lots of cool things for him betta bed, plants, and a little cave thing pls pm me for a answer plz thx

  • I'm suprised at how active he is. In unheated...unfiltered....small container he's quite active. These betta kits are horrible, they shouldn't be put in anything under 5 gallons....you can't heat a tank smaller than 5 gallons.

I've been breeding bettas for 3 years so I know what i'm talking about.

  • please tell me this video is fast forward or else that is one hyper fish

  • Another asshat who did no research before getting the fish.

  • Bigger tank.

    Heater.

    Filter.

Just a few things your betta needs. This tank is wrong.

    Research please!

  • Pff.

QUIEN MIERDA DICE QUE A LOS BETTAS LES GUSTAN LOS ESPACIOS PEQUE;OS?

Una cosa es queno lo requieran, pero otra es que no les agrade -_-

    10L MINIMO para cada ejemplar

    So-ignorantes .l.

  • ppl beta fish dont use filters or lights!

  • @mileyjonascyrus Actually, they do. They are living animals, and in a bowl, ammonia and nitrite builds up, and it will kill them, or make them ill, stressed, and weak. Also, without a heater, the surface air that they breathe will be too cold and not humid enough, which will also cause illness. Bettas need at least 2.5 gallons of space, with an established, filtered tank, with the water at a constant 78F, and something covering the tank, so they have humid air to breathe.

  • do you have a heater and a filter for that!

  • i got that tank but its more deep

    its perfect for betta fish

  • He's proably bored out of his guts... Cute fishie and Home for it. But i wouldnt reccomend this for a permanent home for ANY betta though. Why? Just look at it!! Small space. Lets get a bigger tank, yeah? At least 5 gallons or 4. Maybe 3. 3-5 gallons is good enough.

  • @XxBubbleBearXx lol i dont think bettas get bored... if they would they would be bored their whole life and also bettes dont like a big space.....they feel safe in a small bowl.... but the bowl shouldnt be any smaller than what she has

  • wow you have a good size tank how much was it i have a betta and a goldfish and i need a bigger tank so how much was it

  • your telling me that

    a) you house goldfish and bettas together

b)theyre in something smaller than that

goldfish get huge and arent compatible with bettas that tnak is really good for 1 betta but no way a goldfish

  • This is great!

  • Poor betta. That just goes to show how little space he has. =(

  • @MelissaPlusAlex wadda jerk...

  • @MelissaPlusAlex, That's really mean to say, that fish is still a living breathing creature, you just can't throw him into a small container, that's just cruel :\

  • @MelissaPlusAlex you need a 5 gal & a filter rice patties are not 2 quarts of water full

  • @stephster575 bettas like small places

  • @83happyme Actually, that is a myth, and if you do any research at all, you'll soon find out that bettas actually originate from rice paddies, which are shallow, but vast. They have tons of room in nature, so what makes it different in domestication?

  • @stephster575 this betta fish has enough space

  • @mileyjonascyrus Also, in nature, like I stated before (if anybody here can read), they live in rice paddies, which are shallow puddles of water, but vast. They have lots of room to swim, and in nature, there is nitrifying bacteria everywhere, so the water is always clean and free of ammonia and nitrites. Do your research, I would hate to be your betta.

  • @stephster575 hey, thats actualy usefull info! thanks for the facts.

  • @stephster575 may I add that not all rice paddies are not puddles. They can be up to two feet deep. Betta are also found in shallow lakes, and slow moving streams.

  • just kill him already dont let him suffer

  • @stephster575 did u see the sixe of tank they have a wal mart if not WOW THATS NOT SMALL!!!!!!

  • @ashley0301 Umm.. That's not even a gallon. Bettas should have at least 3 gallons each..

  • @stephster575 ur a dumb ass they like small spaces u guys have no idea really

  • @TheBettalover123 Wow, I love people that believe myths...

  • @stephster575 its notta myth thats a perfect space dude rly look it up

  • @TheBettalover123 How about you get on a fish forum and actually look up some facts? Troll..

  • @stephster575 they live in shallow waters in the wild ok they like small spaces so shut up ok ya ever been to thailland no they like shallow waters ok and small spaces ill post a video of my 4 betta 3 males and 1 female i got them new bowls

  • @stephster575 most bettas live like this. THEY LIVE IN FRICKIN CRACKS in the wild. they can handles that! i have a baby in like a 1.5 or something not sure. Trust me. they r fine in little tanks like that. unless they r too big

  • wow awsome vid! i love the tank were did u get it from and does it have filter?

    thanks (:

  • Thank you. We got it at PetSmart, and no it does not have a filter, so we have to clean it regularly.

  • @MelissaPlusAlex same i need to clean my two tanks soon...... just need to find a place to put the betta's that my parents will be okay with

  • @MelissaPlusAlex Why dont you buy a different tank like 10 or 15 gallons and get a whole lot of fish?

  • @CharlotteX0o you may like the tank but it is not appropriate for any fish. this is very stressful to the fish.. i reccomend you get at least two gallons for a happy fish ... AT LEAST... and they are tropical fish so they need a heater.

  • @CharlotteX0o hey i read ur comment and just saying please dont get that tank too small

  • @CharlotteX0o They actually do better if therre tank is a little dirtier
