Here's MY short and unbias review.

Mic.: No different than the RB one except it's more sensitive.

Guitar: No different than the Les Paul since nobody uses the SP button or slider bar.

Drums: Irresponsive cymbals and an odd feeling bass pedal makes me avoid it. It may be because I started with the RB drums, but anyone who actually gives half a shit about the drums will just get the Ion kit.

Drumrolls are easier on Rockband and my kick pedal has not broke after several months. The GH cymbals are irresponsive and the kick pedal likes to flip on its side mid-song.

The best use for the slider bar is to put my taffy on it so I'd have something to lick between songs. It's too much of a hassle to see where your fingers are since there's no real way of telling where a certain note is. You're better off using the regular buttons for everything, meaning that you should keep your old guitar.

as for the game itself, i don't have it yet but i've played it at best buy and gamestop and had a blast with the guitar, but sadly i have been unable to try the drums yet, because every wt demo i have encountered so far has had the wires to the cymbals broken. people had probably been banging them too hard, thus ruining it for anyone who comes to play the demo later

sorry casey but there's one aspect that rock band pwns guitar hero in, and that's note charting. at best buy i played eye of the tiger on expert guitar on both ghwt and rb2 and found the rb2 chart to be MUCH easier (too many triple chords in the ghwt version. stupid neversoft. bleh). same with livin on a prayer. the rb2 version had a much easier (and shorter) ending. however, there are at two songs in wt that neversoft did good with charting on, and that's what i've done and misery business

A little bit biased. The bass pedal may not break as easy as rock bands, but it's very plasticy. I prefer the guitar hero hardwar over the rock band hardware. But as for the actual game itself. I am torn. But what I have noticed is that guitar hero has improved it's charts in my opinion. A lot of people said that rock band had better charts because guitar added needless notes. But I've seen more needless notes in rb2 than GHWT.
