With ink pads the colour is always way darker and sometimes quite different to the results.

the ink pad is red, but it gives off yellow ink? o_o

I've tried this technique always with good results. I found as long as i washed my folder right away it was ok...might depend on the ink you use though.

@LiveLoveLaugh2420 hmmmm idts....when she ran it through the cuttlebug and took it out, u can notice there is now an uninked square where she just pressed it. If u wash off the remaining part well i bet it would come off
