Personally, I think painting her as the strong silent type better allows for fans to imagine her as they see fit (same as Bungie did with Master Chief in the Halo franchise). Inevitably, there are going to be annoyed people when a character they imagined a certain way over the course of nearly 2 decades is suddenly painted a different way.

@GaMEChld Well, for one, Corruption's controls were fantastic. That is indeniable. When I first saw the controls for Other M, I was a little skeptical at first (I was actually a little skeptical of the entire game when I first saw the E3 Trailer. I jumped to the ignorant conclusion that Metroid had been ruined forever, even though the game had only just been announced). I'll be honest, I really never had too many complaints with the controls. They seemed to work well with the game. *shrugs*
@GaMEChld They seemed to serve their purpose, and once I got used to it, I never noticed any issues with the flow of the game, even when it came to switching between 1st and 3rd person views. Mr. Sakamoto seemed to keep going on about how he wanted it to feel like NES Metroid again (I know that sounds ridiculous, but he explains it in several interviews while the game was in development). So, that kind of explains why the Wii remote is held sideways without the Nunchuk.
This was a damn good game. All the haters don't appreciate what the character had just gone through (super metroid) and the effects the events that took place had on her. If you argue that she's already faced Ridley before, she reacted the way she did because she had killed him in super metroid. His resurrection was a surprise to her.
Ok for all thos who want to know about the music in this commercial, you can download it on the website shinesparkers . net, the music was remade for Metroids 25th anniversary and can be downloaded along with other tracks made by different artists. This specific track is called "What's Past is Prologue" by Theophany, and the entire album is called "Harmony of a Hunter"
This trailer was one of the few good things to come from Other M. The game itself is terrible. A bad mark on an otherwise amazing series.

@metroidman7428 The ship's computer had Adam's brain waves in it so the computer would made choices like Adam because it was Adam after Other M. This can be confirmed if you either search that on Bing, Google, or Ask. Or you could play the game again, and see that the computer even says to Samus "Any Objections Lady?" after she calls the computer Adam in her rage that the computer was telling her to leave the station.

I know a lot of people who try to deny this game's existence, because it makes Samus "cool-spectrum" look bad. To a certain degree, it's true. Samus was made to look like a pussy in the cutscenes, which didn't make sense, considering how badass and powerful she is during gameplay. But at least Samus had SOME emotion in the game. It's not enough to be badass. You gotta have character. So, Metroid: Other M isn't a TOTAL BOMB. Sure, as a game, not as good as the rest of the series, but whatever.
@DevilRebellion The reason I didn't like Other M was because... This was after Super Metroid, right? Samus has already been on three missions (Five if you count Primes 1 and 2, which Team Ninja should have SERIOUSLY studied instead of dismissing it as non-canon.) Trashed Ridley multiple times, gone to the dark depths of a planet ALONE... No, she doesn't have to be Duke Nukem in a sports bra, but she shouldn't be peeing her power suit every time an enemy she's killed a dozen times shows up.

This was relatively recently after she'd killed Ridley, so OF COURSe she'd be quite surprised (though I myself wouldn't be so frozen on the spot, I'd be terrified knowing what she'd been through). Ridley didn't just KILL her parents; he DEVOURED their bodies. RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. She was barely saved.
@OnyxLeo I think I'd be scared, yet pushed to conquer once again, as you've said you would. Btw, also according to the canon, she'd only encountered him en mission 3-4 times before then: Metroid/MZM (I say 3-4 because I'm not sure if Mecha was ACTUALLY him or not). One of these encounters would've killed Samus if it'd have gone on longer. Remember: just because it's easy for us in the game doesn't mean it's as easy for the character. Samus says she barely survived her battle with
the Queen, whom I recall to be of a lesser class and easier than Ridley. Logic says this was the same story-wise, meaning it was a MIRACLE that she won in SM. Now, here he is "back from the deaD" and having experienced virtually ALL of Samus's aresenal, making it harder to hit him. Not just that; you can tell he's crazy AND angry now. He's also bloodlusted more than before, perticularly on Samus.
other M was a disappointing (it was enjoyable at least) game, but this trailer is just way too cool
the next metroid game should keep the stylistic/art choices other M made but ditch the monologues that made the storytelling so bad, i really like this trailer and the story and themes of other M

@metroidman7428 The ship's computer had Adam's brain waves in it so the computer would made choices like Adam because it was Adam after Other M. This can be confirmed if you either search that on Bing, Google, or Ask. Or you could play the game again, and see that the computer even says to Samus "Any Objections Lady?" after she calls the computer Adam in her rage that the computer was telling her to leave the station.

@FELIPEPKPK I disagree Metroid Other M is a dissapointment by Metroid Standards but its still a great game as a stand alone game, I played It myself and I wouldn't mind seeing a longer and way less liner sequal to it providing they have all the flaws of the first and Samus Aran's personalty fixed.

@horokeu122 I didn't really live up to Metroid Standards but its still a great and enjoyable game, the haters however are just really going out of there way to make us think that Metroid Other M is worse then it actually is, when were looking back seven years from now Metroid Other M will be looked upon as a highly underrated classic.

I know a lot of people who try to deny this game's existence, because it makes Samus "cool-spectrum" look bad. To a certain degree, it's true. Samus was made to look like a pussy in the cutscenes, which didn't make sense, considering how badass and powerful she is during gameplay. But at least Samus had SOME emotion in the game. It's not enough to be badass. You gotta have character. So, Metroid: Other M isn't a TOTAL BOMB. Sure, as a game, not as good as the rest of the series, but whatever.

@DevilRebellion The reason I didn't like Other M was because... This was after Super Metroid, right? Samus has already been on three missions (Five if you count Primes 1 and 2, which Team Ninja should have SERIOUSLY studied instead of dismissing it as non-canon.) Trashed Ridley multiple times, gone to the dark depths of a planet ALONE... No, she doesn't have to be Duke Nukem in a sports bra, but she shouldn't be peeing her power suit every time an enemy she's killed a dozen times shows up.

@OnyxLeo That's awful. Prime 1 and Prime 2 are some of the best games in the entire series. That's like asking Nintendo to consider Ocarina of Time NOT a real Zelda game or something. You can't just reject one of the best! Wow Team Ninja, sometimes I question them. (I DO like their Ninja Gaiden games, though.)

@DevilRebellion no, the prime trilogy isn't comparable to ocarina of time. if you want to put it like this i would say it's more like super mario 64, it's something new, not everybody likes it and it just doesn't feel like the original.

@humanLucifer Yeah, you're right. You put it much better. Ocarina of Time is actually my absolute favourite game of all time. But still, the Prime games are too good to be considered non-canon. Sure, they lose the feel of the previous 2D games. But so far, it's the best take on a 3D Metroid game. I will admit that Prime 2 and 3 are disappointing in some ways. But the first game, Metroid Prime 1 was absolutely incredible, especially for the time it came out.

@OnyxLeo The thing is she never ACTUALLY killed him storywise until Super Metroid. And now he's BACK!? And yes, they ignored the Primes. It's always been a thought to me that she never KILLED killed Ridley, so I was surprised he actually DID die in Metroid canon. According to the current canon (I believe the Primes were never really counted as canon by Nintendo, anyway),that's the first time Ridley died.Samus thought she didn't have to worry about him again, so she let her guard down...and boom.

And what does Team Ninja have to do with the canon of the series?They weren't in charge of the story; just gameplay and graphics/design. Sakamoto and his cell handled that much.Anyway,think of what I was saying this way:it's Nintendo logic to make it LOOK like the player has killed a major enemy,but they appear later in the timeline.Look at Ganon. How many would-be deathblows has the theif king been dealt in the split timeline (recalls a certain masterful sword being plunged into his head)?

THREE times Samus was sure that she killed the Space Pirate's commander (the sixth if you regard Prime as canon.) I'm sorry, but even after you've killed my parents, if I've already beaten you 3-6 times, I'm not going to be pissing my pants when you pop up again, I'm going to be jumping at the chance to kick your butt again and avenge them!

@OnyxLeo I'm not saying design wise; I said acording to OFFICIAL METROID CANON, she first killed Ridley in Super, a.k.a. just bfefore this game, which was only a month or two after at the MOST. This was relatively recently after she'd killed Ridley, so OF COURSe she'd be quite surprised (though I myself wouldn't be so frozen on the spot, I'd be terrified knowing what she'd been through). Ridley didn't just KILL her parents; he DEVOURED their bodies. RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. She was barely saved.

Btw, also according to the canon, she'd only encountered him en mission 3-4 times before then: Metroid/MZM (I say 3-4 because I'm not sure if Mecha was ACTUALLY him or not). One of these encounters would've killed Samus if it'd have gone on longer. Remember: just because it's easy for us in the game doesn't mean it's as easy for the character. the Queen, whom I recall to be of a lesser class and easier than Ridley. Logic says this was the same story-wise, meaning it was a MIRACLE that she won in SM. Now, here he is "back from the deaD" and having experienced virtually ALL of Samus's aresenal, making it harder to hit him. Not just that; you can tell he's crazy AND angry now. He's also bloodlusted more than before, perticularly on Samus.
