  • agreed, ive sang this song and at a faster tempo, fitting all of the words in and having them sound as proper as they should is a very difficult thing. They managed to find a great speed for themselves, and with it a great balance in vocals......

though...... i think the strange faces and movements were a bit overdone and unneeded...

  • Do these guys have a CD because i want it!

  • I wonder how they would do with Fionnghuala.

  • Considering that they're not irish and have to learn the words in a different language and then sing these complicated words to a melody is impressive beyond belief.

  • okay you are all kinda of stupid, because, yes they have different interpretations than some of the other male ensembles, but they sound fantastic especially compared to chanticleer, their dulaman is musically and vocally bland. if you wanna hear an amazing interpretation of dulaman listen to Cantus's 2001 CD let your voice be heard track 5!

  • chulama chulama chulamana pide pichula mana. pide piquela

chulama chulama chulamana fara que tula mana. pide piquela

  • trapáci

  • @Remus95HK

hele předveď se ty a pyk něco ukaž NULO !!!

  • Besides the soloists interesting pronunciations of the solo, all of their voices sound quite good, including the soloist

  • How quite kind of you. I'm sure they will be quite delighted at your faint praise.

  • The soloist sounds like an alien. LOL

  • you're absolutely right!

  • yeah he does. ahahahaa

  • wow the basses are like the best of this song ...i am a bass 2 thats way im telling you that you guys are awsome...

  • Wow - what an astonishing performance. I roam Youtube looking for songs for my singing group and love this fantastic song, but the pronunciation is just way too daunting - the fact that Czech singers are singing this with such energy and conviction is truly inspiring.

  • If you think they're good, check out the Anuna version. The composer is part of that group, and it's absolutely amazing.

  • If you think THEY'RE good, you should check out chanticleer singing this song

  • Chanticleer is amazing all the time. Their Dulaman is very good but I just love threatening, soul sucking Ian Curran. *shivers*

  • Also, Anuna is sooo theatrical it adds to the experience. It is both musically and visually thrilling.

  • if you think chanticleer is good, you should check out cantus singing this song

  • This was sung better by Chantecleer.

    Still a good song though.

  • i am from dublin and as i understood it all or mnearly all of anunas singers are Irish:-)

Anyway you dont have to be Irish to be IRish thats what we say:-)

Yes the accent is unusual but great to think people from somewhere else is singing in a language only spoken on a tiny island is amazing to me:-)

If you wnat to learn irish simple spend a couple of weeks in one of our gaeltachts:-)(one of the regions in our country where people grow up speaking irish as a first language :-)

  • I am of irish blood and i will be going to thier this summer and recomendations on the best place to go... Tho i want to go everywhere... I Hear its the most beautiful place all year round.

  • I've never read such a bunch of mealy-mouthed back-handed compliments for any choral video on YouTube. as the writer of the piece I can assure you that the performance is excellent - as good if not better that anything others on YouTube. Well done guys - I'm flattered that you think enough of the piece to work so hard on it, particularly considering the enormous difficulties pronouncing the words...

  • since you wrote this, could you advice a homepage or other to go to, to get the right english translation of the lyrics? The only one I found seemed to be badly translated. (The story seemed off somehow).

  • Check up Celtic Lyrics Corner on Google - it should come up under Anuna

  • Thanks a bundle.

  • Much too fast for the romantic lyrics of this song. Was really good, but not as good as a Celtic performance.

  • And what is a Celtic Performance? If you mean Anuna - the group are not Celtic anywhere except in the USA and many of the singers are English. If you mean "Celtic" Woman - that is about as representational of the Celtic Culture as this piece is.

  • I meant it didn't feel Celtic. It's still really good, I did say that, I just prefer a little more Celtic romanticism with the look of the performers, too.

  • To those who complains about pronunciation etc: Gaelic and Czech are VERY different languages. And if you, Americans, English etc, would try to sing a czech song that would be (oh sorry, that is because I heard that a few times in my life) fun :-P And no wonder - but then - don't be so harsh on them - they are doing their best!I suppose you're not learning proper pronuncian of a language just because you sing one song!

  • PS: It is impossible to find Irish-Czech textbook. If you want to learn Irish, you have to study (most often I would say) from english. Can you guys imagine to learn Czech from German textbook...? Then your German would have to be real good... ;-)

    I like Geng

  • I didnt like thees guys they arent very good with their diction and word pronunciation! And im American and im saying that!! anyhow i sang the solo for this song with my choir and we both looked excited to be singing it and we sunded better! oh well! they tried!

  • I think that your spelling is far worse than their pronunciation considering that English is most likely your first language.

  • brezairola = Michael McGlynn

    Now you know!

  • chanticleer's version is much better

  • they get excited on the very last note of the song... it was awesome untill that. >>

  • For how fast those solos go I have not seen anything better yet and this sets the bar. My chior is trying to this for competition so I will have to see what happens.

  • Actually I think Michael did post this so, no he isn't full of crap, and even I think this is good.

  • This is amazing! I would kill for lyrics to this song

  • Celtic woman sing this song and the lyrics can be found on the net. Use google :-P

  • sorry, it was ment as an answer to a previous comment but something went wrong :-)

  • It is an Irish song

  • ...it. Sorry - my hand hit the send button. Great performance!

  • It isn't a folk song...I wrote.
