Watch a Laker game you will see that once Kobe gets the ball, the opposing team's best defender is on him, plus an extra guy shadowing him, most of the time taking away the baseline. He had another all star on the Magic also, Penny Hardaway was awesome back then. Id like to see Shaq play with Smush Parker, Luke Walton, Brian Cook, Injured Lamar, Kwame Brown and still make the playoffs like Kobe had to. Shaq has always had all star help, Kobe never has since Shaq until now. Alonzo was more important in 06 Finals than Shaq.

He is facing a different breed of players that aren't allowed to even touch him without getting called for hand checking. It's a major disadvantage for a defender to not be able to hand check on defense. And Kobe's production and fg% went up after the NBA got rid of hand checking. Kobe's era is now, and in that era Lebron avg'd more points and had a better fg%. I'm not a Kobe hater, like I said, I'm just not delusional.

No one who knows anything about basketball will say Kobe sucks. But, he's still not better than Jordan. The stats dont support it. Jordan shot better fg% & avgd more points in both the regular season and playoffs. Kobe's 4 straight 50pt games were amazing. But Jordan is the only one to get back to back 50pt games in the playoffs. He scored 8 50pt Playoff games in his career. Kobe has done that once. Kobe is great, but just because I don't think he's better than Jordan doesn't mean I'm "hating".

Bird averaged 10 RPG and 1.73 SPG, Kobe averaged only 5.3 RPG 1.5 SPG. Yes Bird was only on the All-NBA defensive second team 3 times (never first), but he does actually play defense.
Magic couldn't shoot????? He shot 52% for his career, 30% from beyond the arc and 85% from the line.

defense isnt all about getting steals and rebounds. allen iverson led the league in steals a lot but never made the all-defensive team because he can't lock down his man. defense is about denying the ball, contesting every shot, making it harder for ur man to get to the rim, etc... its not just about getting a few steals from the passing lanes or weakside blocks on help defense. for example bruce bowen barely gets any steals/blocks, but he's one of the best defenders in the game.

it's all opinion. i read the "about" section of this video and the uploader thinks kobe is the best player of all time and if other people think otherwise, they dont know lick about basketball? you can never compare the two unless they both played against each other at their peak. we'll never see that. jordan in my eyes is the best of all time. and kobe is the closest you'll ever get to MJ. not lebron nor d-wade. anyways, with that said, the lakers just beat the shit out of the suns! Jordan had pippen, rodman and some of the best 3pt shooters in the game - kerr and kukac thats a plenty options to dish the ball, still he had only one year avrging better then 6 assists, it is also arguably that pippen was the true leader since jordan retired in 93' and was the mein reason of the second bulls' 3pit although jordan came back in 95, in the favour of that is the fact that jordan never got out first round without pippen, at the opposite, pippen did it twice with portland

I disagree about jordan being a better passer.I've seen in many kobe's games he's puttin a magic's no look passes and setting up great plays for his teammates. jordan did that less often and kobe is also running his team offense much more then Jordan did. Incorrect, the 2 have met a few times when jordan was still jordan and 19 year old kobe dropped 33 on MJ in 1998. another game kobe came off the bench and dropped 20 in a blowout victory with limited playing time, in fact he always played well against jordan, so as in 1998 all-star game. jordan was still better back then, but the 19-years old kobe showed some amazing moves and set of skills

As far as 30 footers go, who fucking cares! Dan Majerle hit those all the time back in the day. It's not like Kobe hits 40% of his 3's or something. The only long range 3's i remember Jordan taking were for game winners, and he nailed most of those. It's a high percentage shot for anyone or any team.
