add some shrink wrap around where the the sleeve meets the metal collar on the prop housing, on the outside of the hull and that will end your water problems on all hobbie king boats,
Nice boat! I've got mine ordered as well. I can't wait to get it in my hands. On a forum people recommend to take the whole boat apart and re-seal it completely. So I guess that's the first thing to do for me.
I also got an NQD arrow wind rigger with a 3700kv helicopter motor + esc. But due to water leaking inside the boat and got my shaft broken I can't play with that boat.
1) tilt up the TX Antenna, tip should go straight up in the air ;)
2) get the RX antenna above the water level! Make a hole, glue a small tube in the hole and put the antenna wire inside! You will get a lot more range!
a tip regarding the water. you could put a small sponge or two small sponges inside the boat the lower place of the hull so the water that gets in its absorbed and don´t gets into the receiver or esc.
I usually put this nea the back panel on the floor of the hull.
Gday from Australia, one tip for your TX, have the antenna at 90' to the boat.... where it's hinged, just turn it up so you get maximum "edge" of the ant sending the signal, not just the point.
I bought this boat and the recommended 2200 mah packs. Dammit, they are way to big for this boat. Im going to go to a more realistic size of 1300 mah. I would advise people of the same. Pictures on OFffShoreElectrics website.
You should show the people how big the battery is in comparison to rest of the boat!
I bought theTurnigy 20-30c 2200 mah battery. Its huge- same size physically that I run in my 25" mono. I also have a 2S 20C 1300 mah and a 3s 15c 1000 mah battery to experiment with. Im afraid the 15c wont cut it though and puff.
@basstronics ok. I have four tunrigy 2200mah 25C batteries and I can get the to fit in my boat. Yes, it is a very tight squeeze and they are barely able to get in there, but they are able to get in there all the same.
I'm looking to get some smaller batteries, Can you let me know how your others do? Thanks!!!
@dhoyt7141 Well today I took the "small bolt" out to the pond. You should post on OSE pictures of how yours is set up. I put my battery in line with the motor. The hydro acted more like a sub! Wouldnt plane, nadda. I switched out to 1300 3S 15C and that worked. However the C rating was WAY to low and the pack was hot when it dumped. I will post video on my account shortly.
@basstronics Yes, that C rating will not be enough for this boat. You should not draw more than 19.5 Amps from that battery and I know the ESC in the small bolt is 40 Amps. I wouldn't use that battery again unless you are willing to see it burn along with your boat! I had this happen in a plane a two months ago and it was not a pretty sight. I would recommend a 1300mAh at 25C as an absolute minimum.
@maestrosVIP I've had it out about 8 or 9 times so far and it performs pretty well. However, I have had to replace the rear servo and the hatch on the boat isn't water tight at all! The servo popped out of its housing after about two weeks and I replaced it with a much more reliable servo and used CA glue to hold it in place which is much better than a zip tie.
You have to water proof the receiver for sure though because water WILL get in the boat. I used a balloon. =)
Hey man...nice to meet you, and congratulations about your boat!! I'm from Brazil, and last week I bought one of these boat at hobbycity store! I can't wait to see it in hands!! Do you think it will goes well with a 1050mah 3S 40C LIPO ?? I think it would be faster, cause of less weigth...although I think it can fly over water and crash too...hehehe...waht do you think ??? See my videos...thanks!!
@PhilSkydiver It might be faster as it will be lighter, but I love having a bigger battery because it runs longer and is really stable in the water, not really any risk of tipping! You certainly won't need a 40C rating if that is what you are thinking, this motor doesn't draw nearly enough current for that.
I would recommend getting the new batteries they carry. They are $10 each and are the same ratings as my Turnigys. Hope it goes well for you! Post a video of it!
@offroadrc Thanks! Its also much more stable than I thought it would be. With the battery in it (Turnigy 2200mAh 25C 3S LiPo) the boat is actually very heavy so I think this has some effect on keeping the boat down in the later instead of letting get out of hand and turn over! Either way, its a really fun boat and its great for beginners like me!
are the pack size 105 33 24?? would also fit larger batteries?

Hi,
very nice video ;)
To get more range, you have to do 2 things:
1) tilt up the TX Antenna, tip should go straight up in the air ;)
2) get the RX antenna above the water level! Make a hole, glue a small tube in the hole and put the antenna wire inside! You will get a lot more range!

Is this video taken with the standart propeller or x432?
My second question is does the esc has reverse?
Also thanks for a nice video review.

i cant remember if i asked, but does it flip over easly? or??
Does the esc have lipo cut off?
And do you think it will be plausible to make a floatation chamber on a hydro boat?

very nice, im thinking of getting one for myself. Impressive in a way.

@tolikamashina if you get one, i would certainly get an Octura x432 propeller for it, it makes a world of difference!

@basstronics I'm running 2200mah batteries and it runs just fine.
What battery are you running? Whats the C rating and who is the manufacturer?

Looks great, very fast and the price is cool. How many times you already played with it??
I just want to know if it's enough reliable or not. Anything broke? Need replacement?

@dhoyt7141 Thank you for your answer. Replacing a servo is not a big deal (Anyway i 've got lot's of them).
Great idea with the balloon, funny though :))
I have heard about waterproof ESC's Motor's etc, but is there any Waterproofed Receiver? And if yes, does hobbyking sell's it?
Sorry for bad english!!
