  • "if you have more than one finch theese are a neccesity"? if you have only one than that's REALLY bad.

  • finches don't play with toys..

  • @veetuv no they do

  • Looks more like a Parakeet Cage, and for only 1. P.S. Finches don't "play" like Parrots. 2. Too crowded (I have a cage a little larger then this but I no toys in it, just a nest, Spa

  • I feel sorry for anyone that she gives advice to about finches! If you chose to get finches do your homework and research the breed first!

  • Why Not Visit pet-supply-uk-dot-com for all your pet supplies

  • Yeah, um over crowding a cage like that can injure your finch they do not require a lot of toys, but do require a lot of space to fly around from perch to perch and yes they do require a place to nest wether they are breeding or not. They are an extremely frail type of bird that requires a calm and quiet home. They cannot be held as risk of heart failure could result. So, people please do your research on these birds or any pet for that matter.

  • laura looks like shes on crack :D

  • What an idiot.

  • I have an Orange Cheeked Waxbill finch named Allegro, and he is a darling. Sings and chatters all day and sleeps on his swing at night (he doesn't make a peep either. His cage is in my room). He loves a mirror but doesn't seem to care much for other toys.

  • They need room to fly. They'll get bored and may need toys to occupy themselves if they don't.

  • Thats not true! Not a single word!

Finch hates toys and can get sick of them and even die !!!

Your Finch needs only space/freedom and some plants or something like that.

The cage for a pair should be at least 100cm*50cm and 50cm high!!!

  • I am considering getting 2 finches, I have a cage already set up with feeders and waterbowls, are they worth getting, can you tame them? Are they easy to breed? How big do breeding boxes need 2 be?

  • @DanDaSimmer Yes they r worth getting. As for taming like step up and having them sit on ur shoulder its very unlikey. If u want a bird like that aparrot would be the choice like a keet or loveebird or cockatiel. They r extremely easy to bread u just provide the nest and paper and thats it.breeding boxes can be small not big u see them at petstore only 3 dollars or 4.

  • @DanDaSimmer you should get a finch they are really nice and they love like poles and stuff what i did is i got my sisters giant hoop earings and i attached them to my finches cage with ribbons and they love them oh and you should go to google and type how to train and care for finches and it'll tell you everything

  • I don't think it would be a problem to have a nest if you had just one finch or two of the same gender... o.O;

But what do I know. >>

  • Finches need a big cache. In Europe we say 120 cm long 50 cm wide and 50 cm high. Finches dont need toys but they love natural sits.

Not every finch needs a nest.

  • u dont no shit

  • Agree nests promote egg laying. You can put a pinhole right through the egg or shake well and return to nest if you decide.

Have one that sleeps in a small empty food dish(with mirror attached)tail and tip of beak stick out. Prefers more than a perch.

(Even with nest;) love stainless steel ie/spoons and mirrors for reflections.

  • Sounds like this lady just wants to sell her "must have" accessories to make money. Finches aren't companion birds....they don't require toys or a nest. Not all finch species need a place to roost, a nest just causes them to have unwanted chicks. So after that you have 7 birds in that tiny cage. Oh wait, time to go to the store and get more cages! Irresponsible "informational" video.

  • Cluttering a cage with toys = less free space

Finches love to fly, you forgot to mention they need a bigger space than this.

A finch flight cage should be at least 30" wide for a pair or two.

  • Umm finches DO NOT require a nest. They only NEED them if you plan on breeding.

  • yes they where do you expect them to sleep?? my bird would die if he didnt have a nest he hates sleeping on his perch...lazy bird

  • @karmen86 How would one know if its time to put in the nest?
