  • @NeoTranshuman Your goddamn right

  • China was quite smart let the British raise Hk and then get it back in 1997 :0 for FREE :)

  • I want to know which school the social worker went when she applied for secondary school. Whoever said what she was told, if that is true, should have his/her teaching certificate revoked.

  • TO everyone who is rascist

    FUCK YOU BiATCh~~~~~

    THANK YOU-everyone

  • @Chinastar85 have you been brain washed by the Chinese communist???

And please don't be prejudice on a page trying to solve the problem

  • @Chinastar85 I speak on behalf of Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hk, YOUR A FUCKING DISGRACE.

Fucking squinty eyed flat nose, tall pale mainlanders.

  • @Chinastar85 Lmao..说傲慢这里没有人会比你傲慢,一天到晚无所事事就在网络上到处挑起事端。先聊者贱!..LOL.."you said you stated in the fact?"Lmao..

Don't tell the others that if you are a Chinese, you are just a joke, we shame on you.

  • get over it. america is the worst country for immigrants

  • Personally, I don't like to call the terrible nick name or make "terrible fun" to the others. I'm living in Canada,I know how that feeling......I am so sorry for if any Chinese hurt you like that before..However, when you are in a Chinese place, speaking Chinese is a common sense..like we should learn English when we immgrate to the North America , it's the respect to the majority and the teachers tell this to us in class too..

  • Hong Kong is Chinese Hong Kong and it's always the best city, best place of China:繁荣,公义,自由..Sometimes it can be seen as the last hope of China and Chinese:自改革开放以来,一直坚持将繁荣,公义,自由传播到全中国..It's our most important land and we are the majority..different than the colony history of the North America,Chinese is always the Resident and Majority in Hong Kong..However,we respect the Majority people when we immigrate to the North America and we learn their language,,So same as speaking Chinese in Hong Kong,

  • @Rab1975bit USA

  • @00range But in Hong Kong it's mostly the Chinese while in U.S.A. most were of British descent themselves!

  • My father had a Pakistani boss once, he was born and bred in Hong Kong and his parents took the decision to send him to mainstream Hong Kong school, which was extremely unusual in late 50s early 60s. He had always said that being able to read and write Chinese was what got him so far. I agree.

  • Thank you cantehk. Very informative.

  • whoa, Ferml's teacher was a real bitch

  • It's sad that they would deny an education to new immigrants when people from all over the world would accept students from Hong Kong.

  • white people have it goo good in asia esp in hk...chinese oh ..im mean hk people will never discrminate white people ...they will b racist to most other nationalities...hk people are too uneducated ....study history....even star ferry was made by indians...so many thing in hk was made by minority not just by white guys ...

  • when southasian say they don't like chinese call them name. i wonder if they call chinese name in their native language. is this a discrimination against chinese???should the government make law to punish those who call chinese "name" in their native language????

  • part 4: yes, i agree that hk is different from china and i also like hk better.

  • part 3: so before that year, the chinese goverment should be fall.

stop to be racist against mainland chinese! what are the mainland chinese, macaonese, taiwanese and hongkongnese??? we are all han-chinese! i don't understand why many hk ppl have to look down at mainland ppl.

  • part 2: look at other countrys, e.g. the USA or japan: there are still capital punishments, too! i think, you believe too much in the west media. they don't want china to be richer and stronger and so they often write shit about it.

hong kong was a part of china, before it became a british colony!

the chinese goverment had all rights to get hk back.

lots of hongkongnese are afraid of 2047.

  • @cooki33girl: you only see the negative things of china, but there are also good things about china! you also have prejudices, for example you said, that china is really dirrty. maybe in some places but not everywhere.

if every food in china were poisonous, then there wouldn't live any chineses anymore. and where did the genocide exist? in tibet? everything, what the dalai lama have said musn't be true.

  • At least Hong Kong has strict immigration policies and is against multiculturalism and political correctness like in US and UK. In America you have millions of illegals cross the border every year and leach on welfare and free medical care bankrupting the country while in Britain, the muslims and south Asians cause nothing but trouble and refuse to assimilate into the country. Diversity is going to destroy the West one day. Learn from the mistakes of the West and avoid what is happening to us.

  • From what I see, places like Hong Kong have no qualms about having Western visitors or integrating Western cultures. It is Asian, African, MIddle Eastern and even Latin culture they do not want a part of.

  • You are mostly right except for Asians Japanese are definitely admired, Koreans and Taiwanese see as more or less equal, Mainland chinese are discriminated and so are the south east asians.

  • People are discriminated everywhere.

So it goes, "You do this to my people in your country, I do the same to your people in my country."

  • in hong kong local pepole not respect eatch other becase they ungreguated

  • THE WORLD IS BECOMING IN TO ONE CULTURE while other cultures from villiges disapearing soon you lot will all foget the true history and back ground rather you'l read what the government provides for you to study they choose your education...everywhere you go in the city you get people wearing blue jeans and shirt tie but go to the villiges it has its own culture but its vanishing even in india pakistan ...the world bekumin in to one what the media shows

  • well I always had this opinion about so many different ethnic communities all over the world. Why are there so many ethnic communities all over the world. Like whites in asian countries. Asians in european countries. Middle easterns in other countries. call me odd but aren't people not suppose to invade other people's turf. I remember the US not being so kind to chinese immigrants back in the 19th century and actually forbid any chinese from coming over until it was uplifted in1960s.

  • The host is a bit of a prick with Tariq... why not announce him as a Hong Kong Citizen and not a Pakistani?

  • Because hes from Pakistan you prick. you sound like a fcuking black man dude, You need to know Chinese people go through abroad before you complain.

  • It is a real shame. I met an Australian white couple that could not get enough of China and wanted to learn and go visit everything, in stark contrast to what those two American girls wanted. Too "spoiled" by Western living to appreciate the great history all around you.

  • Speaking from my own personal experience, I went to visit the Great Wall when I was 15. There were to American born and raised Chinese girls at around the same age as me there as well, they were from New York. The whole time they were there they bitched to their parents about bringing them to this "hell hole". Is it not true that in the West they do not teach their students about other cultures and learn to appreciate any chance they can get to travel?

  • Try and Immigare in China and see how your Treated..if you need WORK!!!!!

  • If Christian and other religions love each other there would be no war, no hatred.

  • I grew in HK in the 1st 10 yrs of my life. Every time I brought up about the subject of non-Cantonese ppl to adults, it always came back with negative comments about them. This included school teachers. I never felt it was right. If HK ppl keep excusing them of this attitude by blaming the colonial past, then they just want to live in the past & refuse to learn to be civilized.

  • To be perfectly honest, the question rather the life of someone from indo or middleeast is cheaper than that of a native HongKongnese, the answer according to 90% of the Hongkongnese will be: Yes.

Now don't get offended for simply saying the truth. This has to do with the social status of these poeple, and it is strongly related to the recent history and development of these countries in the last centuries. Life of a chinese worth less than that of a white man according to them, it's the same

  • As long as Western countries are more developed than China, and China is better developed than indo Asia or Middle east countries, discrimination will continue to exist.

  • Without the Chinese in Hong Kong, Do you think Hong Kong would have become the city it is now??? Just Look at all the other former British colonies! Which one can you say is as sophisticated and economically successful as Hong Kong? Not to be disrespectful to any other places, cos they also have amazing cultures and people.

It's just ridiculously arrogant and ignorant to think the British built Hong Kong into a world-class city single-handedly.

  • @Rab1975bit , as someone who was born in HongKong and spent the first 7 years of my life there, I can tell you that Hong Kong became what it is today because the people actually embraced British rule. The people were proud to be British subjects. i remember when Queen Liz came to visit, the whole island went crazy.

  • @Rab1975bit

i agree, it wasnt the british alone, the whole world put in their bit if you look at hong kong over the past 15 years, but the major players were the hong kongers themselves, the determination and openess im amazing

  • @Rab1975bit Well you are the one being arrogant, since if the British didn't occupy this half island city then China would have never developed it. It would be a small rural area where no-one goes to, the only reason china kept on pushing Hong Kong's economy forward after 1997 was since it was already pretty well established. If the British was not there it would be neglected. AU moon for example took over 500 years for the Chinese to get it back from Portuguese, that shows how much china cares.

  • @Channypogosticks

I was talking about the Chinese in Hong Kong, NOT Chinese as in China the country! What did what I said have anything to do with China? Of course if HK wasn't as successful China wouldn't have cared as much. (HK was still part of China, but it's a different subject.)

So u think HK's success was achieved single-handedly by the British alone? What, the HK Chinese were just hanging out chilling the whole time, right?

please read my previous comment properly b4 responding again.

  • @Rab1975bit Well, yes the Hong Kongers were all diligent, but what i was saying was without British occupation then Hong Kong would not be what it was. You state that Hong Kong's success was entirely due to it's hard work. I argue not since if it were in Chinese control then it would not have received the attention it got. so yes, the British played a major role into turning it into what it is, it is stubbornness that you say it is because of their hard work.

  • @Channypogosticks

    I never said that!

I said HK's success wasn't ONLY due to the British ALONE! Of course HK became the city it is now was due to the British leadership and law AS WELL AS the Chinese hard work and their deeply rooted Merchant culture too.

So U think the roles that the Chinese played should not be recognised? R u being racist?

My previous comment was a response to some ignorant comment somebody made. What's wrong with u?

PLEASE read properly before jumping to conclusions!

  • @Rab1975bit british built hongkong you idiot, all other areas werent separated from their mainland but hongkong were and look were it is now, white british built hongkong and showed the cantonese how to make a good economy

  • @meProudToBeCaucasian I never said the British didn't build HK. Of course they'r responsible for HK's sucess with their laws & management sysmtem that suited the Chinese merchant culture & WORK ETHICS. Brits didn't built HKs sucess Single Handedly.

China had the world's largest GDP for centuries til the early 19th Century b4 all the foreign invasions & domestic corruption. Chinese'v always been business minded.

Look at the former non-white colonies, only HK & Singapore r encomonically successful

  • @Rab1975bit

"Look at the former non-white colonies, only HK & Singapore r encomonically successful"

Not to burst your bubble, but you do realize Australia, New Zealand, Canada were all former british colonies right? :D

  • @RareVDO

I said non-white. The majority of the population of those counties you mentioned are white.

  • @meProudToBeCaucasian Average IQ of China--105

    Average IQ of Briton--100

    Average IQ of Africa--70.

    Yeah, Chinese people built HK.

  • @meProudToBeCaucasian Average IQ of China--105

    Average IQ of Briton--100

    Average IQ of Africa--70.

    Yeah, Chinese people built HK.

  • @meProudToBeCaucasian Average IQ of China--105

    Average IQ of Briton--100

    Average IQ of Africa--70.

    Yeah, Chinese people built HK.

  • @Rab1975bit

That's because the Cantonese were willing to be servants of the British. Else where in the world, they all fought the British out of their countries...

  • Sorry, HK is not "a special economic zone ", it is a SAR. If you don't know what it is, google it. Basicly it means HK ppl rules HK, NOT Mainlander!!!!!!!!!!

China just took HK without asking what HK ppl want! Is that fair?

  • @daze8

Check ur facts before opening ur mouth so you won't look like an idiot next time. China did not "take" HK. Britain took HK from China after murdering hundreds of thousands of Chinese during the Opium Wars and forcing their opium dealers onto the unwilling Chinese. They then proceeded to lease the port. After their lease was up in 1997, the island was returned. If you want your British colonial masters back, then move to the UK.

China did not "take" HK from Britain.

  • But Hong Kong is so different from China. Even the writing looks better than the ugly simplified Chinese. China is dirty and the people like spitting and picking their nose in public. I rather see Hong Kong as a British colony, not China's. It was way better before 1997. China promised not to interfere with Hong Kong's politics, but they are already doing it...little by little they are going to force Hong Kong to follow their corrupted country and government. China is going to ruin HK.

  • @cooki33girl,

Good job at making extremely offensive and bigoted generalizations regarding an entire nation. You seem so sure that mainland Chinese are innately born inferior, just like white supremacists believe blacks are innately sub-human.

These "nose picking ugly" Chinese you refer to, are the same ppl running the fastest growing economy, sending men into space, starting high tech companies, turning out engrs, and ready to bail out America's economy with China's 1.9 trillion surplus.

  • Oh please! don't come up with the stupid "America owes China" thingy. It has become some type of Chinese poetry among Mainlanders. You guys are fake, even the conversation between Dictator Hu Jingtao and the astronaut was fake, it was some type of "Mr.Dictator-cares-about-citizens" Montage. Blah!

  • @cooki33girl,

Hey, have it your way. I'm done. If you want to ignore reality and even believe half the BS you spew, thats ur perogative.

But you know what: I find it sick that instead of cogently analyzing the difference between PRC's economic/political system vs that of HK SARs, you would rather spew bigoted comments regarding entire groups (now ur insulting Singaporeans and Mainland).

You have no credibility after doing so. I'm so glad leaders of HK and TW don't share your sentiment.

  • "Ma Ying Jiu largely support eventual reunification.", but maybe I read into that statement the same say you got, " China does not want to "fuck up" the economic system the British left after colonialism.". I used the same wording you used to reply cookiegirl. "I've never heard a Chinese person anywhere characterize simplified or traditional Chinese as "ugly".

  • Negooog,

Are you trying to make a coherent statement and failing.....or are you just rehashing what ppl wrote already?

What the fuck are you doing? As far as I can see, it seems like you are the troll that keeps coming back and making personal attacks. You and cooki33girl both. Please go away because you do NOT represent educated HKers and educated Taiwanese.

And btw, I have friends in Taiwan who are pro KMT and WANT eventual reunification.....

  • Are your friends also other accounts you've made today?

  • I don't have any online friends through Youtube. And you two are really fucking pathetic.

  • More pathetic is creating a new account to "proof" that your comments are right.

You certainly have watched a lot of videos, 17 already? Just pressed the "refresh" button, huh? hahahaha... BIG L!

  • ChipProcessor is an American. Like many yankees he wants to be the voice of countries he knows little about. He'll try and dictate Taiwanese politics to Taiwanese and assess whether or not you are ethnically han based on...I don't know. Anyway If you keep replying he'll try and keep you here forever. Each comment he writes will end in a personal attack to lure you back. Chinese characters a meaningless to him.

  • negooog and cooki33girl:

Reading through the comments, I've come to the conclusion that you guys are really pathetic. I support ChipProcessor32 all the way. Neither of you kids have refuted any of his arguments. Cooki33girl just whines, and negooog keeps harping some nonsense about assuming ethnicity or something. Negooog just avoids the contentions altogether.

Chipprocessor, these kids do NOT represent HK or Taiwan views. Please just ignore them.

  • Wow! you made that account so quickly! Just for me?

  • Hahahaha...True. That account was created just today...hahaha. I guess we triggered his "anger" mode!...I'm not sure whether he is an American, doesn't looks like one. I'm 98% sure he is from Mainland.

  • All his comment are in english. His attitude is that of an American teen know-it-all and lastly check out his last 2 comments;

Chipprocessor, these kids do NOT represent HK or Taiwan views. Please just ignore them

    then

And btw, I have friends in Taiwan who are pro KMT and WANT eventual reunification.....

  • I still hold my position of him being from Mainland, probably living in the US. Asian-Americans don't care about this kind of stuff, UNLESS he/she is a newcomer. But anyway, who cares whether he's an American or German, he could be Haitian for all I care...the point is that we angered him to the point he had to create a new account...hahaha...that's the funny part!

  • @cooki33girl,

Your ludicrous statement regarding "ugly" simplified Chinese lends me to suspect you aren't even ethnically Han/Chinese. I don't know any college educated Chinese person (whether from HK, Taiwan, China, or Singapore) that would make a statement as stupid as yours....

Most ppl want to acquire various venues of communication. Singapore successfully uses simplified Chinese. I've never heard a Chinese person anywhere characterize simplified or traditional Chinese as "ugly".

  • If you haven't heard people characterize simplified characters as ugly then you haven't been to Taiwan although your descendents probably are. Don't say who is or isn't ethnically han chinese based on whether you agree or disagree with their opinion. You are clueless.

  • @negooog,

Nowhere did I assert that Ma Ying Jiu was elected for his pro-unification stance. You obviously did not read my comments, or have problems in reading comprehension. What I did state, is that NOT ALL Taiwanese want independence. Many, or at least some, DO WANT reunification. What is wrong with my statement? I could care less where you are from....

And if you insist simplified Chinese is "ugly"...fine. Whatever. Characterizing a writing style as "ugly" doesn't even make sense....

  • I mostly reply chinese youtube pages and I assume you don't.

  • Are you f*cking serious about Hong Kong and Taiwan liking the simplified Chinese? Dude, they hate it and it looks awfully pathetic. Might as well just write Japanese, even Kanji has more traditional Chinese in it. And who cares about Singapore, they speak broken English, broken Mandarin, and broken Cantonese LAH. 个 -> what the freaking sh*t is this? a little hut? Please, don't tell me that 飞 looks better than 飛. Simplified Chinese is just like children's doodle.

  • @cooki33girl,

Btw, HK is not a colony of China anymore than San Francisco is a colony of America, as you imply. How do you know it was way better before 1997? Have you conducted a 2 decade long statistical experiment from 1987 to 2007 of HK standards and happiness? All the infrastructure u see in HK today was built after 97.

And one more thing: If you live in HK and are actually advocating British (foreign) colonial jurisdiction over HK......you should really get the fuck out of China.

  • Actually, I don't need to get the fuck out of China since I'm already out of China, thanks God! And every person I know who's lived or still live in Hong Kong can't stand the notion of belonging to China. They are all afraid of 2047. Look at all the shitty stuff that's coming out of China: inhuman orphanages, poisonous food, genocide, worst capital punishment, and many more embarrassing events. You guys consider Mao ZeDong a hero for God's sake! - freaking disgusting!

  • It's a large country with many problems but once again you are only focusing on the bad so it's very easy for you to highlight its flaws and nothing else. How do you know that every mainlander considers Mao to be a hero? I know many mainlanders that think back to the times when they were sent from their cities to the countryside under Mao's orders rather than entering into college, which took up many years of their lives that they'll never get back. Please stop generalizing people.

  • i'm hongkongnese, too! and i think, it isn't very bad, that hk belongs to china. i just don't like the politic and i think, china's politic should be changed.

  • @daze8,

HK ppl complain the CCP won't give them democracy. Let me ask you: did the British ever allow HK ppl to choose their president? No. The British treated themselves as elite and exempted themselves from all rules and laws. They treated ethnic Chinese like shit in their own city. British appointed a "governor" every term. They only "promised" democracy as a last ditch effort to keep HK as a colony. When have the British granted Democracy to any of their other colonies? Name one.

  • DO u even know anything about the history? Hong Kong has always been part of China, & the British took it & forced China to sign an unfair agreement to agree to let Britain rent & govern HK which they never paid rent for. In 1997, HK was handed back to China. China didn't take it!

It's like if your child was kidnapped & brought up by the kidnapper not knowing much about his real parents, many years later, the kidnapper freed him back to you. He might not know u but he's still your child.

  • hong kong is part of china too but just that they've been infected by the europeans and rendered them stupid and full of hatred towards mainlander and other part of china.

  • China made HK a special economic zone cause they don't want to fuck up what the British gave it. Shanghai is the same. Taiwan also doesn't want to be part of China.

  • @negooog,

You are grossly misinformed. Parts of Shanghai are SEZs, but Shanghai is different from HK because Shanghai was never leased to a foreign nation like HK was.

Also, parts of Taiwan don't want to be part of PRC, not all. In fact, KMT party and Taiwanese president Ma Ying Jiu largely support eventual reunification. Its the DPP (pan-green) and Chen Shui Bian that doesn't. Review Taiwanese politics before commenting next time....

  • I am not interested in reunification and most people aren't.馬英九 was elected for more than just cross-strait relations. Look at where I'm from before commenting. Please quote me where I said Shanghai was "leased". I said China doesn't want to interfere with HK's economy nor Shanghai's. These places had huge economies before China opened up. Look at the policies of SEZ's and figure out why it's easy to guess where they are.

  • negooog wrote:

"China made HK a special economic zone cause they don't want to fuck up what the British gave it. Shanghai is the same."

    Problems:

    1. HK is not a SEZ, its an SAR, as somebody already pointed out

    2. Your sentence implies Shanghai is in the same boat as HK, that China does not want to "fuck up" the economic system the British left after colonialism.

You require basic English grammar skills. Please go comment on a Chinese youtube if your English is bad....

  • Hey wut do u call those refugee camps in hongkong?

  • To be honest I'd discriminate that guy just because of the way he looks.

I went back to hk this summer - fuck me there are loads of Indians and Pakistanis now. Does not make me happy one bit..

  • shut the fuck up mate...we are gona kick all thoese asses like urs...bitch! watch out...maybe some of us will rape u!! son of a bitch!

  • haha threat of rape? I'm sure that's a violation right there. Maybe that's why sexual harassment is hight in hk..

  • Why would you say that? Have you never experienced racism first hand while visiting or living in a foreign country? I'm sure you have and it didn't feel very pleasant. Can you not appreciate the fact that these people saw something great in Hong Kong and gave up their lives back home to try and integrate and make life in your hometown? It's attitude like yours that is ruining this world and causing problems where there shouldn't be.

  • hongkong people are nice but the immigration officer are not competative with other foreign national specially when you are going to hongkong for an impotant matter requested by your family

  • as long there's race, culture and nationalism, claims of racial superiority..we can never live in a truely undiscriminating society..i'm a chinese studying in india.. and i get slighted often here too.. thats why there's no better place to stay than your own country..yet..my country's government is runned by hypocrites

  • it's possible to feel racially isolated within your own race.

  • nah, the roots of racism lies in classism. Everyone naturally hates, or find ways to exclude others. Racism is just an easier way to hate cuz its obvious to the eye. But when we all look the same, it goes back to classism. Classism is the real issue. Also, another way people outcast others is by looking down at where you come from, like "southern vs northern provinces". People in the states also have that same notion when others tell you what city/state they're from. Ya diggggg?

  • HK people do charge anyone with European last names for bookings (esp. in restaurants) with higher prices than the usual, don't they? That's a form of discrimination against White people.

  • Well you white people have it way too good in asia any how. try being chinese in europe bitch!

  • wow the pakistani dude speaks good cantonese

  • just to say that there are ignorant people from all races thats all, although you are right about britains being mainly prejudiced - however my mum is not despite what happened to her.

i think it was mainly the older generation of chinese that treated her bad - the younger generation were more social and changed their image to be more westernised in the way they lived there lives because they believed it was just better.

  • my mum lived in hong kong for 7 years during the 70's before i was born because her husband got a job as a policeman in hong kong. my mum loved living there but she said if she would walk into certain 'mom and pop' shops she would be spat at by the older generation and ushered out the door. when she was very bad in the hospital she had people - other patients spitting at the foot of the bed and she said it was very unsanitary compared to the british medical hospital she later went to.

  • wow.... this is funny.... HK people, why is my people so arrogance..... however, I still love them.....

  • I almost cried when the social worker talked about the kid who used drugs because he felt so lonely. And also about when she was young, how her teacher scolded her for being a new immigrant who "steal jobs" and will never get accepted by a Hong Kong college. This is so sad.

  • it's not chinese people who are discriminated against the most, it's just the general orientals from the eastern asia-- middle eastern, and africa-- whoever is not 'white' of background or 'white' looking.

  • U'r right. It's true that many East Asians have prejudice about Non-white people. But this prejudice is a result of the European colonisation in the Far East. European Imperialism that distorted our beliefs & values is still so ingrained in today's society. We still find it hard to shake off these ideas where some Europeans r desperately trying to distance themselves from their imperial pasts, BUT at the same time criticizing their former colonies for having prejudices that they forced upon us.

  • why are people saying chinese ppl get discriminated the most? that really must be a usa thing i guess.....

what doesnt kill u will only make u stronger. :/

  • England's the worst for racism, you wouldn't believe.

  • It's a bit of a generalization but pretty true. The English do seem to have this tribal/imperialist mentality that they become aggressive or arrogant towards things and people they're not familiar with, unlike people in some other countries only show curiosity and interests (a more progressive attitude). Perhaps aggression is a way to mask their insecurity. The lower classes deal with this aggressively & upper classes are patronizing & arrogant.

Some people embrace their ignorance arrogantly.

  • This is a pretty accurate description of what i've seen and experienced! I'm even worse off because being a mix, they hate that even more cause they can't understand/categorize!

  • U know in old colonial Hong Kong, the British considered the Eurasians the lowest in their social scene. It was hard for them understand how any respectable European would ever prepare to lower themselves to marry an "Oriental". Those Europeans were considered traitors to the superior European mission to "civilise" the rest of the world.

It's a great deal better now. U see mixed couples all the time, yet there's still an undertone of prejudice there. Now they don't condemn, they "tolerate".

  • Well i'm not surprised. However now they seem to have the idea of pillaging all the birds and the birds seem to like it. So it's the opposite, but just as bad I guess. Well at least as bad, maybe worse. And the racism is still there anyway. And it's happening all over the world.

  • How can anyone that grew up in today's society hate Eurasians? They are probably the most beautiful "race" on the planet. People should date whoever they want, regardless of race.

  • I don't think beauty has much to do with racism, and I was talking about the old colonial days. Most people aren't like that any more... I hope.

  • You obviously haven't been to Russia, East Europe or Saudi Arabia.

  • yeah, you see racism so openly in england - i hear english ppl saying "f***ing pakis" almost everywhere. america is another nation that racist, but racism tend to be more discreet in comparison to europe.

  • mjay22: That's because the European-Americans in U.S. are now 65 % of the population, while Europeans are still 88 % in Europe. With the way European population is shrinking and increase of immigrants from Africa, Middle East, and Asia, things will get better in the future.

  • Isn't Racism a bit better in Europe? I thought there is a slight "Asian Fever" in Europe where people are interested in Asian history and culture.

  • That's only amount certain people. maybe just young people who are generally from middle class backgrounds, but generally even people who are interested don't actually know much about it at all.

  • No! Racism is worse in europe you can get attacked and killed for being a different colour, dont you watch the news!

  • There are radicals in every country but please we're not talking about people getting killed or attacked, in some ways, that is a lot less hurtful than being discriminated by words or non violence actions as psychologically the damage lasts longer. You're such a hopeless person, don't you see that the world can be improved if only people like yourself were more positive rather than negative all the time?

  • Yeap. And the rest! Hah. Well personally i've never experienced any problems in USA, or in fact anywhere, except England.

  • Isn't it funny that's the case when England is/was so very closely tied to many colonies including HK? I mean there are many British people still living in HK after the handover, I would expect that England would be the most friendly nation for a Chinese person to live in.

  • It's ok but I wouldn't say it's the friendliest. I've been called chink and all sorts of names in this country... even in London (supposed to be milti-cultural).

English people have a very tribal mentality, they reject things that they're not familiar with, they're not very curious because they always think they're better even when they know they're not. They can never do anything properly cos they're too proud and arrogant to admit that they have to learn.

HKers are very similar in that way.

  • Yah it's funny, however most people around here don't seem to even know what HK is. They think it's a place in Japan. Ha.

  • I feel that generally Chinese are the most discrimnated compared to any other race , in school there are many ESL people and many consider chinese as imagrints not knowing any english.

  • it's nice to know that the HK govt finally recognize the existence and the needs of its "ethnic minorities", a term I didn't learn in HK until I moved to the US and became one. For the first time, I empathize how the immigrants in HK feel about discriminations. Thanks RTHK for producing such a great documentary.

  • My family is Chinese-viet, my uncle marry a HK woman and at first her side of the family didn't have nice thoughts about us, just because our family was from Vietnam eve though we were ethnic Chinese

, but later on they didn't mind, and they became nice and family-friendly-like with us.

  • hey this is a great video! i feel so ashamed growing up hk chinese in hk as a kid. i saw so many dirty and disgusting things done to the sikhs, pakistanis, filipinos but never did i speak out or tried to do something about it. and now we're living in the west and finally realised what they must have felt! that's karma i guess, and we deserve everything we get. "reap what you sow"

  • i know what you mean by shame. i'm abc, but visit my family in hk every year and see how hong kongers treat immigrants. some of my best friends in the US are filipino and i would never want them to know how poorly my people act toward their people.

  • love to the sister at the end

  • NICE!

  • I admit Chinese suffer the most racism in the world last time and even now and the most now a days is in South East Asia! Chinese is one the most hardworking people, they not care what race you are, some chinese at first you might think not friedly but they are nice people. Chinese people contribute a lot to this world and also to U.S.A..for example rail road. U.S should immigrate the chinese regardless where they from if want to continue to be the strongest world in the future!

  • because u don't care about it that's why i guess u suffer the most. its not just a race thing its an indv thing. if u don't want ppl to bully u in the first place, u must show the same thinking as potential bullyers if u know what im saying.

  • actually there are even europeans that are even terrible among themselves, they bully each other - e.g. english person against another english person. so, you're really that it's not really a race thing but more of an individual.

  • hk people love to hate. my experiences as a mainlander there make me feel closer to the indians and blacks in hk than the chinese hkers

  • Well, im sorry you had such a bad experience in hong kong :\

But you shouldn't generalize everybody in hk like that

people are naturally skeptical around people they dont know, especially

    people of another race

it just takes time and commitment to understand each other =)

  • Cos you mainlanders are backwards.

  • Another stupid racist generalizing statement made by HDsharp. You make comments like that yet you complain about how bad you have it overseas. Haha. How ironic. Karma does work.

  • Imo The chinese suffer the most racism abroad compared to any other race. Just imagine if the chinese behaaved like blacks do in the west??

  • thanks

  • thanks
