Supporting free speech and thinking someone is scum for having a particular opinion are not mutually exclusive. For example, I thing white suppremacists are scum. But I also support their right to be scum and speak their hateful message. Supporting free speech doesn't mean believing a view is immune to criticism or that their views shouldn't be considered when forming an opinion of the person who holds them. It just means not believing it should be outlawed.

Free Speech is under attack. The example too often given is the "yelling fire in a theater". Now there is "hate speech" ? We are being threatened to watch what we say.
