half vdubya's are good on planes that are in the 75-95mph range,,,that is what they are good for. Picture a prop as a tire,,,on a car,,,,it is spinning at a speed to propel a car at 85 mph,,but your only able to do 40-45mph,,,,your constantly spinning out. That is what that little hopper is doing,,,spinning out. Now,,if you was to put a reduction on this little engine,,,spin a larger prop,,less pitch,,then you could get it in the "45" mph range.
Hmmm seems that 40 to 45 mph is about right for my Hopper which is a real draggy plane anyway but fun to fly and Low N Slow is what it is all about not 85 mph.

I thought those Half VW were a little to heavy for ultralights. I love the sound though...

about the same weight as a 447 with a B gearbox on it. Plus add the battery for the 447 so the 447 is a heavier total package.
