Hello everyone, apparently the project has been abandoned due to the driver being internally featured in newer versions of Ubuntu. I have no control over this obviously, and alot of people are still having issues. I recommend updating to the newest version of Ubuntu Linux and see how it goes from there, but people who still have trouble after that should try adjusting PAL/NTSC options in programs as this tends to cause green lines and other things.

I've been trying on and off to get my Syntek EasyCap DC-60 id 05e1:0408 to work in Linux on multiple computers for years. The Source Forge dl is gone because supposedly it is now native to the kernel? Native or not, my results are the same. GUVC recognizes the device but all I get is a green screen and/or grey bars. Never once have I gotten video! Same with Cheese.
I am VERY disappointed that I have no way to stream from my Canon FS100 or HF200 using Linux.
I saw in your video intelacing artifacts. In windows, I'd handle that through a combination of Dscaler and Virtual dub. What can I use in linux? I just migrated so I don't know much. Thanks for the tutorial!
Everything now works (After messing around in the install.sh script) but it kept telling me it couldn't remove a kernel module (snd_usb_audio) because it was in use (whitch is true, I fried my laptops card and have to use a USB one) so I unplugged the sound-card, still the same problem so I killed the module using rmmod -f snd_usb_audio and since then (even with the module loaded using mod probe) I have been unable to use my soudcard, i.e. I have no sound. Help?
Hi! (my english is not perfect, excuse me, but I understand it pretty well =))
I Did everything, but in cheese I get just vertical lines... no video. As i can see my easycap has been recognized but I have no video, just the lines (white and black) ¿What can I do? thank you very much.
@monkeywitharocket I assume that Pulseaudio disabled your computer sound?
If this is the case, click on your audio preferences and go to Hardware, click on "Internal Audio", then click on the drop down box called "Profile", from this list choose "Analog Stereo Duplex".

Do you have a DC60 or DC60+? I'm wondering whether or not I should get that adapter.
Also, does it still work in 11.04?

@AussieLinuxTuts you didn't understand that he want a tutorial on how to install the driver
sonacx111 8 months ago
It seems as though you need to go through the process of showing us the driver install itself.
MrPsygo 1 year ago
@MrPsygo My apologies... but I can't do that, as I've got everything perfectly set up, and doing the install over again could be problematic...
Read the readme file inside the .zip folder, it lists all commands that must be input into the terminal.
Hope this helps,
- Ben
