  • Who would of though in 1776 one day the queen of england will be in america as the greatest allies

  • ADAMSWAMPY: the thing that pisses me off is that even though the US fought to free itself from britain when ireland tries to free itself from britain, even since 1969 which isnt ancient history, you idiot, america supports britain

  • @risteardsean - nope... Bill Clinton invited Gerry Adams(an IRA terrorist leader ) to meet him at the White House directly in contravention of the wishes of the British government. Mrs Thatcher compared it to a British Prime Minister inviting the Oklahoma bomber to No.10 Downing Street for dinner. The British government protested in the strongest terms. The U.S. government, looking to the "Irish"- American vote no doubt, totally ignored them and gave Gerry boy a big back slapping welcome.

  • @adamswampy: Yes but that was after Adams had signalled that he wanted to launch a peace process..He wasnt allowed in earlier.. He was only allowed in the first time, in 94 for 72 hours if i remember correctly.. After that the IRA called a ceasefire, and then he was giving the big welcome, which was in Britains interests..

I think the effectiveness of the irish-american lobby and the general feelings that Irish-americans have towards nationalism/republicanism is blown out of proportion..

  • TIOCFAIDH AR LA

  • haha I love how the band blasts out hail to the chief and then plays God Save the Queen beautifully.

  • @trumpetSL08

That is not Hail to the Chief. That's just fanfare to prelude the Royal Anthem.

  • oh ok my bad :S

  • well why dont we dissolve the us government, put the us cabinet on trial for treason.. make the 50 states 50 colonies and you can move back in the british troops and you can be loyal to her majesty, is that something to your liking?

  • @risteardsean . What are you rambling on about? That's ancient history. Most of the world, including the U.K., the U.S. and yes, even Ireland, has moved on. Do yourself a favour and do the same. You just sound bitter, twisted and not a little pathetic.

  • @adamswampy: Yes but the point that im getting at.. The US always supports British policy in Ireland..

  • Yep ... sure do. :)-

  • so do you celebrate the 4th of july? or dou think that washington, jefferson, franklin etc were traitors to the crown?

  • Yes - US and UK will always have that bond.

  • And what bond is that? Do you support what Britain has done to this world?

  • Cant we all just get along?

Britain and America are supposed to be the Best of mates.

  • Britain is America's greatest enemy. We remember what you assholes did.

  • @LostSimply . And what was that exactly? I've forgotten lol.

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo big bad nates is going to bum me!

  • Jesus, Nate. So much anger. Rectal prolapse much?

"Monarchies and unelected heads of State are clearly outdated and irrelevant in the modern age. And this association conflicts with the nature of the United State's existence."

With respect to what you say above. An elected president would not work in a wesminster style government system. It would end with a party-political, totalitarian state. For your country presidency works. In our system, an impartial head of state is better.

  • oh really is that right, the how come one of your own generals said 1 british troop is worth 10 americans, and why do your troops always shit there selves, ????? ive seen it first hand, you just want our sas all the time, basically because most of your troops are from backward towns, like where you are probably from, thy are o uneducated all they can do is go in the army and kill allied troops, not very good really is it for a "super power" hahaha, married your mom yet ???

  • the world, doesnt look up to america, most the world hates you, if nobody looks up to us then why are you always asking for our support. and why have nations based there law and education on our systems, see again you look a fool, and very uneducated, oh and england isnt an island so take a geography lesson

  • Oh darling. Forget about that stupid yank. I have met millions of them like that. They all have one thing in common: selfish, selfilled and dumb. I dated a few Americans. They all give this kind of shit. They always choose to go to the cheapest restaurants in town, and they think there is no one else rather than themselves.

  • you obviously dont have a good education, our prime minister does the job your president does, our queen is our supreme ruler, but as you have no history or culture you wouldnt know, she is also head of the anglican church

  • We do have a history, and we're glad to its BEHIND us. It was Europe.

  • ill get BEHIND you oohhh yeah bbaby im a big european gay boy OH AND I AM A COMMUNIST oh jesus christ how scary is that. FREEDOM and EQUALITY oh its such a scary thought

  • USA and Britain forever friends

  • ex warring nations but now best alliance the world has ever seen

  • Could'nt agree more. Search for video 'An Anti-Terrorism Tribute'

  • Britain went to war with 13 of its own colonies 1775. The term USA did not exist until 1778 when you declared independence by which time we were already at war. So in a way we never went to war with the USA only with our own colonies. We just found ourselves in a war with a newly declared nation. It is just we liked America so much we did not want to part with it. Unfortunatley they wanted to part with us.

  • Long live the British-U.S. alliance...the most powerful alliance, and friendship, in the history of the planet.

  • Truly a "special relationship". Thanks for your thoughts,

    -K

  • @pesticidepopsicle.... IF YOU YANKEES LOVE THE BRITS SO MUCH WHY DID YOU FIGHT FOR YOUR INDEPENDENCE? EVERY TIME I SEE THIS AMERICAN FAWNING OVER "MERRY OLD ENGLAND" I LIKE YOU LESS AND I AM ACTUALLY BEGINNING TO DISLIKE YOU AT THIS STAGE

  • @risteardsean

    Britain* not England

  • @MajorDLF: My point is still the same

  • @pesticidepopsicle - no longer apparently. According to Saint Obama, America has no closer friend than ...............FRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(White House meeting with Sarkozy, 11th January 2011,) HAHAHAHAHAHA! Good luck next time you decide to invade someone!

  • @adamswampy Obama is living in his own disconnected world. Other nations don't buy into his rhetoric at all, and our nation is losing respect because of his actions. Britain and the U.S. share a special relationship, cooperating and coordinating on an extremely deep level. That will never change.

  • @pesticidepopsicle Well said.

  • True, a Great friend truly is to be found in Great Britain.

  • Bush had to crawl in the backdoor of the white house like a snake,

  • A Great Frind is GREAT BRITTAIN !

  • can we be freinds instead

  • The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to be precise, Great Britain just refers to the main island of Scotland England and Wales, but yes, a good friend is a friend indeed
