my cat had to get a shot in her back to absorb through her skin essential nutrients and stuff (was dehydrated) and the shot created a hump on her bk for like 2 minutes lolll reminded me of this lolll.
I remember watching this show when I was a kid!!!! Ahhh this brings back memories....:) I'm sure Wishbone has passed away by now, but I must say, what a cute dog!! Maybe Wishbone is the reason why I'm such a dog person today....
Wishbone is possibly one of the cutest dogs in the world!! I had a jack russ kinda like the movie :The Mask: named him Max also haha!! But Wishbone omfg!! When I walked Max I got attention from the most hottest of girls. Imagine having Wishbone ... he would be the ultimate in cuteness!!
@GothicsChocolate i remember this too lol i was like 4? xD someone brought up the wishbone books in a youtube vid and i was like wow i remem that show xD
Thank you! I loved this when I was little, coming home from school. God, I miss the 90's. I wish they would put this on DVD. Back then they treated kids like they were somewhat intelligent. I miss my childhood so much.
ty of uploading this!!!! the last i watched wishbone was when my big brother was REALLY interested in him! but now he lost interest... :( and it has been a LONG time :)
I love this episode! Victor Hugo is one of my favorite authors, but then again, I like pretty much all the French Romantics. We read some Victor Hugo in my English class this year, and it really loses something in translation. Il faut qu'on lise ses romans en français!
For anyone who is a fan of Victor Hugo and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", I would also like to suggest you check out his other classic book called "The Man Who Laughs". Its story involves a blind girl named Dea and Gwynplaine, a man who earns his living as a clown because his mouth was cut into a grin (like the Joker) when he was a child. Gwynplaine and Dea love each other very much, but, as a fair warning, in the typical Hugo style, the story still doesn't end well. It's a beautiful love story.
@TheaterRaven hey, thanks for the suggestion! I just found it online and am reading it right now. I just became a Victor Hugo fan about six months ago and my mind is still buzzing with the wonder that is Les Miserables...
@AngeliniMeataballa You're welcome. Let me know how you like the book. I love "The Man Who Laughs". It's one of Hugo's obscure works, but it's my favorite of his--I've even written a stage play adaptation of it.
I've yet to try and tackle "Les Miserables". Even though I'm a fast reader, it took me literally months to finish both "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "The Man Who Laughs" and so knowing that "Les Miserables" was Hugo's longest book, I'm nervous to try and dive into it. :)
@TheaterRaven By the way, I loved it (The Man Who Laughs). AND I looked up the silent film version here on YT and loved that too. And I definitely recommend Les Mis, even if it takes forever and a day to get through...I started to love the main characters like they were part of my own family!
And now I'm laughing 'cause the whole point of Wishbone was to expand kids' literary horizons, and, by Jove! It worked!
@AngeliniMeataballa So glad you enjoyed it! Wasn't it a beautiful book? And yes, I love the silent film version, too. Conrad and Mary were wonderful as Gwynplaine and Dea, so sweet and romantic. I'm torn between the two different endings--part of me wishes the book ended like the movie so they could be together, but the other part of me loves the sadder ending from the novel and knows that they end up together in the afterlife. Such a great story; more people need to know about it. :)
@AngeliniMeataballa I just had a thought: How amazing would it have been if the Wishbone gang did a "The Man Who Laughs" episode? Oh, the possibilities. I could just hear some of Wishbone's side comments now . . . :)
@AngeliniMeataballa Haha, I actually always thought they would have cast him as Homo, the wolf, but the idea of Wishbone as either Ursus or Gwynplaine is just hilarious. XD
And yes, "Wishbone" should still be going. I can think of a million books/stories they didn't do that would have been epically awesome in episodes. :)
OMG, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! I love this episode!!!!!!! It was one of my favorites as a kid. I remember seeing it for the first time not long after the Disney adaptation of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" came out. This episode is truly a classic in the "Wishbone" series and is one of the things that got me interested in one of my now-favorite writers, Victor Hugo. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this. :)
@TheaterRaven I know! This episode came out around the same time as the Disney version, and even though I was still a young child, already my mind was comparing how these two were both alike and different, I love this episode too! It certainly is one of Wishbone's classic episodes!
@71crm I've never seen the Disney version. Never wanted to. I'm sure if I told my friend that she would make me watch it and I would end up loving it. n.n
I use to loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this show!! I miss these kind of shows from the 90's. Those were the best times for kids tv.
