  • Great video, thanks!

  • @Camstar1000 ....The hydrogen bond is a weak physical side bond that is easily broken by water or heat. Hydrogen bonds can be reformed by drying or cooling the hair. These bonds are very abundant in the hair.

  • @Camstar1000 Here is info on hair composition...if you want me to share link I can email it to you: The middle layer of the hair, the cortex, is made up of millions of polypeptide chains cross-linked with each other by three different types of side bonds. The bonds that link up the polypeptide chains of the hair are hydrogen, salt and disulfide bonds. Hydrogen bonds account for one-third of the hair's strength.

  • Wooooo, major error on the hydrogen bond binding activity hun.....arrrgg avoid it if you can. Chemical engineer (phd) here! I work in research in pharma and body care, i would say if in doubt, leave it out.

    Nice hair though.

  • @Camstar1000 Sweetheart I wasn't saying to put hydrogen bonds in your hair lol. Each strand of hair has hydrogen bonds as a part of it's makeup. I think you need to research this. By the way, I am also a Ph.D student :).

  • Great vid!!.

  • Thank you for the great advice about the leave in conditioner! I will try to do the kimmytube. THe only problem I have is the aloe vera juice. I can't find it anywhere!

  • What a useful video! Wld u know I never knew pomades held the hair, thought they were intense sealers - which is only half true! Like your hair, mine can't be too wet loose so I make use of moisturisers. There is really a science and technique to Afro hair, guess thts why my hair never really grew as mch until I discovered yt last year

  • braids, its vine like reaction will cause it to loc up in short order! Its so interesting how alike afro textured hair is, yet how so different...

  • pure water. After trying many water based products, I've found that activator - yes activator- is the product that keeps my hair moist for at least 24 hours. I've experienced drying and breakage with other products. So all the above is a long way of saying u are absolutely right - one must learn and do whats best for her own individual hair. One more thing - In order to avoid knots/tangles when wetting my hair, I have to have it loose and predetangled. If I wet it while it was in twists or

  • This is a supa informative vid. I had to learn the hard way that although pure water may be the most moisturizing product, one can use, its not always the best choice for moisturizing my hair. Specifically, when my hair comes into contact with water, it reacts like a vine - wrapping around itself, other hairs, and any and everything else in my hair. So unless I'm up for some serious detangling- which is another way of saying unless its wash day - I avoid moisturizing my hair with

  • Thanks for the info

  • Girl this was a great vid very informative. Contrary to the Essence article regarding youtubers and natural hair, we do learn alot from each other no matter our hair type, or texture much of this information is so fundamental for healthy natural hair. Be Blessed~~

  • Very informative. Thank you.

  • Preach Sister! I love an educated black woman.

  • Great info!

  • @20pearlsNcurls Hey hun! I was trying to leave a comment earlier on your braidout vid but yt was tripping. Your hair is growing and the braidout was fantastic.

  • @vanie0295 Thank you so much! I have been having issues with YT lately too.

  • Question////Do you always have to use a leave in conditioner to leave in. I don't have any leave in conditioners here where I live. I do have good normal conditioners. Could I leave that in my hair?

  • @Hasalaiya3 Well I just think it depends...regular condish is not designed to be left in but some people do use them as leave-ins. If you are leaving them in and you are not having any issues with your hair then you are fine :).

  • @vanie0295 Thank you so much! I know you are the perfect woman to ask! I've gone back and watched all of your videos ! You have come a long long way! Beautiful!!

  • @Hasalaiya3 Hey, I used regular rinse out conditioners as a leave in. What I do is add a little oil and aloe vera juice and mix it together. Kimmytube leave in recpt. But I have been doing that before kimmytube (4yrs) and have no problems. If you read the ingred. for leave in and rinse out conditioner it has about the same ingred. to make sure the rinse out don't dry out my natural hair, I like to add oil (any kind) and the aloe juice to balance it out. Hopes that helps ;D

  • Applying oil on dry hair that has not been moisturized will cause your hair to be even dryer!

  • @Apriluv7779 Yes! some people think only adds moisture but it doesn't.

  • The only way to get moisture is from water. My hair needs water EVERYDAY!

  • @Apriluv7779 Water is the best way to get moisture but some products are design (like a leave-in condish or deep condish) to give your hair some until to wet your hair. But def not butter, oils, pomades etc.

  • @vanie0295 Yes! My hair likes to be drenched daily :).Often leave-ins are not enough for my hair. The climate is soooo dry here! I look forward to your next video.

  • great info. thanks for sharing

  • @BackTwoNatural THANKS!

  • Good video. What kind (name & brand) of conditioners were those you were holding? you never showed the label Luv Ur Hair

  • @queenTrdh The white bottle is giovanni smooth as silk

  • @lepetitecherie U are welcome ;).

  • @louloumatou hey Hun! How was ur birthday?

  • @dramaqueenjas thank you :).

  • i like this video, good info, cos a lot of the times when i watch product reviews people don't like a certain product because they have unrealistic expectations of the product, wanting it to do things that it is not designed to do. i think that people often confuse the roles of emollients with those of moisturisers. I love leave-in conditioners! fab vid
