I have owned my "Anvil" Rifle for 3 years now and shoot it often at various classes. I can only say that knowing John and his penchant for quality. It shows in the performance and reliability of my AR. Best of luck in 2010...GM
I fired an m16 in national guard basic, but for some odd reason I couldnt make marksman,so they discharged me.I just couldnt fire the thing at them green targets, maybe because I am color blind.I was in the outdoor range for 8 hours in the foxhole.didnt hit one target.
I only hope this/your company sells to real american patriots who are looking to defend their country against the NWO who is the ONLY real terrorists killing and harming Americans.
at anvil arms website, there is an option to disable the forward assist. i thought it was place to help ensure proper bolt closure. the SPORTS acro in event of stoppage, T-apped the forward assist.
Often when your bolt is not going forward, it often means there's a "feed" problem w/ the cartridge. It's either trying to "double feed" a round into the chamber with an already spent cartridge or the chamber is so packed with "gunk" (common with Wolf Ammo), the new round will not slide into the chamber. These can cause your bolt to prevent from going forward. Hit that forward assist and what happens? You jam that cartridge in there even harder. Thus the option to have it removed. Mine is!
When the Army was looking for a new rifle (you know, waaay back then lol) and they picked the AR-15, didn't they specifically ask for the carry handle and the forward assist? Actually it might have been the Air Force that asked for the carry handle...I don't remember where I read this stuff...lol
lol not that the army wouldn't make a mistake...just wondering why they'd want the forward assist if the above jam would be the only jam that would occur.
Understood, but I guess you can't really understand just how useless the forward assist is until you've actually been faced w/ using it, or not using it. If you have a "stove pipe" or "FTE", what does the forward assist do? Jam it even more! What about just one round that won't chamber. What does the forward assist do? Jam it even more! If there's any shooters and/or soldiers that have successfully utilized the forward assist, please educate us. And no, the PC's BHD FPS doesn't count. =)
lol valid points indeed. I'm not huge into black rifles. Don't get me wrong, I love 'em, but I'm more into historical military firearms, more specifically WWII for their...intrinsic value. I've only had my AR-15 (bushmaster)jam on me twice but I've never really fired it outside range conditions. (no bad guys, no sand, no fear/adrenaline etc ) But when it did a simple application of sports did the trick. They weren't horrible jams though, I'll definetly remember your advice on the forward assist
