awesome show... the thrilling and eventual conclusion to the "luther mahoney saga!" homicide was such a cool detective show... i almost consider the series a precursor to another great detective show set in charm city: THE WIRE
one of the best scenes on tv and this was such a well written show. the only thing that comes close on network tv now is the taut scripts of person of interest on cbs. ck that show out. love andre braugher in this seris.
The slide of Lewis' pistol is open because he has had a stovepipe jam. When Luther Mahoney gets the pistol, he has to clear it by "racking" the slide.
@Torqem It's suicide by cop to pull a gun on one, that term just wasn't in effect when this show was on the air otherwise there would've been NO problem whatsoever with anybody with Mike blowing him away. Cops don't tell you to just lower the weapon, they say DROP it, Mahoney did not so where's the problem?
@52barney Yeah and it was a lousy script, she and Meldrick get to keep their jobs, but Mike who saved Lewis' ass gets thrown out of Homicide and why, because Stivers has a problem with the druglord kingpin of Baltimore being justifiably executed. She was sickened by that but she was not fazed at all when the witness standing right next to her was blown away by a bullet meant for her.

That was a clean shoot. He was armed!!!

At 2:26 when he told him to drop the gun, Luther would have been shot sooooo many times in Houston that his body would have looked like an afghan.
No lower the weapon. No other warning. Drop the gun or get shot.
A clean shooting by the HPD.

why was Lewis' gun locked open after he fired that one shot?

I'm not crazy over cops, but Luther was such an asshole I could excuse Kellerman for taking him out extralegally. ENOUGH SAID.

@Torqem It was a PSH: Public Service Homicide.

I love Homicide, but who in the heck is their gun expert. Kellerman is pointing a gun with the slide locked back.

3:08 - 3:49 BEST part of the whole series. That bitch Stivers should've kept her fat mouth shut, Mike did the right thing.
