Hi Mr.! Great works!!! I´m from Brazil and would like to make these works here. You could say me which the mix percentage of water with white vinegar?
it depends on the dyeing if garment is reactive dyed then the after discharge the color will be rust/orange, and if garment is sulfur dyed then it will discharge in ash/white color.
Thank You youcaghtthegay for you comment, if you watche the se more part of the video, there is a more detail explanation of the process, yes its 50% water and 50% bleach, any bleach will work, but I always use Clorox.
I was curious about what your ratio of bleach to water is. Also when bleaching a shirt that much doesn't it cause the bleach to eat through the fabric? I ask because I have been doing stencil bleaching a bit but you seem to have it down to a pretty exact process.
Thanks for sharing your technique with everyone, the results are quite stunning. I'd love to try it too, unfortunately but body has adverse reactions to even the smell of bleach. =( Might make stencils though and have my friends use the bleach. Anyway, thanks again, many blessings for your artistic future.
This is only a fraction of the work I do, I also do Street Art work with my posters and stickers, and also do Fine Art paintings, drawings, and collages.
in my experience it seems to be completely permanent, I try not to leave the bleach for more than a couple of minutes on the shirt I use a 50/50 mix of bleach and water, and the soak in water with white vinegar for about 1-2 hour, the white vinegar cures the shirt so the bleach does not continue to destroy the fabric, then wash as you would regular cloths with detergent to eliminate the smell of bleach and vinegar, and then dry to allow for pre-shrunk t-shirt
It depends, where the shirt was manufactured, and what type of dyes they use to make the black, this particular brands of t-shirts (Talha) USA, they discharge in ash color, while the Hannes brand discharge an orange rust color, I cannot control they way the garment is going to discolor, just keep experimenting with different brands until you get the color that you are looking for... I really like this ash color and the quality of the brand is super good to do the type of work I do.
I soak in water and white vinegar for about 2-3 hours, to stop the reaction of the bleach and cure the shirts, so the bleach does not keep destroying the fibers of the fabric
at first I was using 100% Bleach but after a few errors...
(I kept burning holes onto the shirts)
I started using 50% Bleach and 50% Water, then I wash with water to eliminate the excess bleach and then I soak them in Water with White Vinegar which stops the reaction of the Bleach, then I wash the shirts as if I'm doing regular laundry with detergent to eliminate the odor of the bleach and vinegar, then I dry them in a dryer to eliminate further shrinkage.
Gracias, yayad1nonly por tu comentario, yes it's just bleach, but it creates beautiful designs, I'll be explaining the technique I use, to create "One Of a Kind Tye Dye" T-Shirts in the description part of the video, what has work for me and not worked... This are the T-Shirts that I sell as Artworks, each one is a unique piece that even if I wanted to replicate, it would not come out exactly the same...

Everyone else was suggesting stupid freezer paper, which you can't acquire over here. Besides, I'm loving your designs! :)

They have discharge agents that cure with heat, IE heat gun, that would speed your curing time and not have to wash the treat the shirt with vinager.
